I've been a Lands' End customer since the early 1980s, and all these years later, I'm just as satisfied every time a package arrives. The quality has been consistently excellent, and the customer service has never given me a single reason to look elsewhere. Most recently, I bought winter coats for two of my grown kids. They both make their own money, yet somehow always end up wearing coats that barely survive the season. Lands' End had great deals, so I let them pick exactly what they wanted and now I know they'll be warm and dry all winter long. As always: zero issues. Period. I have shopped at Lands End for many years and actually worked at one of their phone centers in the 90's when my kids were growing up. The rudeness of the staff has gotten progressively worse here over the past 5 years. (I realize this location has moved). I came in today to make a return and watched how incredibly rude they were to a woman ahead of me returning something. She had her return neatly in the package it had arrived in but the clerk was so rude rude to her. The clerk told the woman "I need a customer number, YOU need to find it". The pleasant customer was looking all over for it while the clerk acted exasperated. Finally, I interjected and asked her why she wouldn't pull up the order herself for the Customer. She acted more pissed and called over another woman who said "we've never done that". Wow! Both woman were so rude. I'm not sure if the woman ahead of me, who was treated this way, will be back but I sure as hell won't be. I can spend my money at multiple places, I will go where staff is pleasant and efficient. read more

I have a pair of Lands End Chinos that fit well so I ordered another pair in a different color. I was flying to Japan on a Wednesday so I paid 27dollars for express shipping for a promised delivery on Tuesday. By Monday I had yet to receive the email about shipping. I called them Monday night to make sure the delivery would be here Tuesday. They said "Wednesday to Friday." I said, Let's just cancel the order now. They wouldn't let me cancel. I said let's cancel the express shipping then. No can do. Here's my point: When Lands End charges you a lot of money for express shipping they will still just take their own sweet time. read more

I buy Lands End at the store but never have on line before. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE....RIP OFF! I bought a pair of pajamas but only the top arrived. Customer service said that even though all the pictures showed a complete pajama set, all the way down the page it said somewhere that it was only the top. For $41????? When an item needs to be returned, Lands' End will deduct their original shipping charge from the refund, and also charge for the return shipping label. I ended up paying almost $20 just to try on a jacket that didn't fit. read more

I bought a good-looking lined rain jacket on line, through their catalog. The jacket was delivered with an inferior or damaged zipper to close the jacket. Because the jacket was on sale, the store did not allow returns although the zipper on the merchandise was either damaged or poorly constructed. I discourage anyone from doing business with a clothier that has such terrible and inadequate customer service. Some sort of correction should have been made by them. They knowingly sold inferior merchandise by invoking a non-return policy on sale items. What poor business ethics they have. read more

They are thieves they make you pay for insurance and then will not cover you after you pay only before you pay. The Managers are not properly trained and will give you information that they think they know not how they were trained. Also if you want to pay 200 or 300 dollars for a jacket that is thinner than a bedsheet their products are made cheap but sold for hundreds also almost all their products come from overseas so when tariffs hit their prices will skyrocket, trust me you can get better jackets, clothes, and footwear for cheaper from anywhere else. read more

Lovely new store but lacks customer service. Purpose of my visit was to return an item I purchased online. Have done this numerous times before and it was done at the main check out counter. Was in line with between 3 and 6 other customers (number varied while I was in line). There were 3 people behind the counter - one running the register, one on the phone, and one folding clothing. A 4th employee showed up later to help the employee on the phone. I waited while the people in front of me were helped. When I shared that this was a return of an item purchased online, was told that I needed to do that at a different place in the store. Apparently in the new store (which has only been open 4 weeks) they have a return counter for online orders in the back of the store. No signage at the main counter about this. No signage as you come in the store. Comments - it's Lands End - a company with a reputation for customer service. This experience missed on multiple accounts - 4 employees in the store & 6 customers? Why are any customers waiting in line at all? Moved the online returns and put it in the back corner of the store? Don't make your customers wait in a line to find that out and then send them to a second line. At the old location you were greeted when you walked in the door and you always had an experience that left you feeling a valued customer. This new store - pretty but the customer no longer appears to be the focus. read more

I've been a Land's End fan and shopper for over twenty years now. I'm always pleased with my purchases and I'd shoot some reason it isn't what I expected I have no issues ever exchanging. The quality is usually high, and I particularly like their Starfish pants. I shop here for my family's clothing needs and I have purchased bedding and other home goods. Hero of the month! Thank you, Pati!! I found out last minute that I would need a bathing suit for a work trip. I would be around co-workers and clients and bathing suits are not anywhere near my comfort zone. It's also November in WI, so my choices are very limited. Pati was up to the challenge and found me a swim skirt and matching top that offered me fabulous coverage, in my size, and even a great pattern. She had to dig deep, but she saved the day for me! Lands' End has high quality clothing at an affordable price. What make Lands' End special is that they carry clothing (casual to business) that fits regular sized people like me: 6'5" and 300#. Everywhere else the largest size (maybe) is 3XL. Well, if it doesn't come in a tall size, it won't fit well. I wear a suit every day. Except for suit, tie and shoes it's all Lands' End for me. read more

Service was quite good at the store, but I'm deeply disappointed in the merchandise. I've been a Lands End shopper for years, and counted on them for summer basics like nice T-shirts, shorts and swimwear. Unfortunately, this year they went to a cheap manufacturer for their basics. Their T-shirts shrunk up to the point they didn't even cover the top of my jeans or shorts! Necklines shrunk to funky puckering things...lastly the arms are tight. I bought 4 and returned them all, even went a size up...and they still fit so weirdly, those went back. What a shame....Lands End is taking the exact approach every clothing company takes when their profits are down....keep the price the same and lower quality! Hey Lands End....it doesn't work. Pretty soon you'll be competing with Walmart, and that's not your base! I went and paid twice the price, ordered from LL Bean and got the quality level I was looking for. "The customer is always a criminal" I think that must be their motto. I purchased a coat online and it was too big. I could have 100+ pounds on me and still fit in it. When I took it into the store to return Mary B was rude about me returning it. She was not pleasant at all. It was as if she was skeptical of why I was returning it. I had an older item with a broken zipper to exchange/return/repair whatever and again Mary B treated me like a criminal. "I can't even tell this is a Land's End item. I don't see tags." She actually said that. Well, she looked harder and found the tag on the item. Then was like, "you'll probably get $5, this is old." So i quoted the guarantee they have, the whole, return forever thing. and she gives me a weird look at just says, "Depreciation. You know what that means?" As if I'm some kind of idiot or dummy. And I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened my email to see I had a $5.28 credit to Land's End awaiting me. This was for a long down jacket. A long down jacket was valued at $5? Yeah, so, stay away from this store. And honestly this company. We called the corporate customer service and they were just as unhelpful as the rest of the people we encountered. Now we have to try to see if they haven't thrown away the jacket. read more

I first ordered two items from Land's End. The first item was a pullover shirt in a small size which is always what works. It was way too big but the label said "small." The second shirt in size small fit me fine. When I returned the item that ran way too big, not only did I not get an $8 refund for the cost of them shipping the shirts to me, (which was quite high for 2 lightweight t-shirts), but I had to pay to get it shipped back, so it cost me $11 for receiving nothing. They were inflexible. I don't trust their sizing now but I was willing to buy a scarf from them this week. However, when I saw that a light chiffon scarf was going to cost $8 in shipping, just like two shirts, I decided I will never order anything online with Land's End again. They rip us off! read more

They do not, and will not, carry any men's pants with an inseam longer than 32". They say that is "big and tall". Please. Macy's, Kohl's, and every other retailer I've been in carry men's pants up to a 34" inseam. If they haven't realized by now that retail locations have turned into showrooms for ordering online then they are in trouble. Trial is usually desired by consumers before purchase, and retail locations are how people "try" your products. If people can't try your products, they won't order them on-line. I was pleasantly surprised to find that you can order pants finished to 1/4" lengths online, but I have no idea what to order because I can't try on a 34" inseam pair in the retail location. read more

I am always amazed at how many people are working here but standing around talking to each other. They ask if they can help you but if you ask a question they don't seem to really want to help or make a suggestion. I stopped in to buy a couple things the store only had a couple customers in it and when I asked where I could try something on a woman that was busy chatting with 2 others pointed over to the corner. Wow lands end you need to step it up. Do better. Train your people so you can keep this retail outlet open. read more

Longest wait ever to return something from the catalogue. They had me "look around the store" while they were processing my return. When I returned, it still was not processed and they thought I had left the store! After they were the ones that told me to browse while they would complete the return! The return itself took the lady over 5 minutes. This is not waiting in line either. After my return I wanted to purchase something else and so they made me get in a different line again. In a line where someone was getting something monogrammed so another 5 minute wait with no one else in line. I will never return to shop here. Most frustrating retail experience ever. read more

I'm amazed that so many people complain about the customer service in this store. I've been coming to this location for several years and I always find the sales staff pleasant and willing to help. If I don't see the size I need on display I just ask for them to check in the back. They have always been willing to help and most of the time they find one if it's a regular size. I do wish that they would have more of their "tall" shirts in the store but what I do is find my general size and then order the tall size I want. (Here's a hint for the person who wanted the 34 inch inseam: Try on the size you think will work in a 32 to make sure of the size and then order a 34. It's not hard at all.) My only complaint is that some of the talls in size small are not just longer but are bigger than I expected. read more

It took at least ten minutes for anyone to greet us and ask if we needed help -- at which point we had looked through the entire store to find the ladies' (not womens') swimsuits and picked out the ones we wanted to try on. Fitting rooms were nice, but no help there either. Swimsuit sizes were mainly very large (size 18 would be in luck!), and we didn't find anything worth buying. Someone called out to us from the register as we left, but at that point we were disgusted. I glanced at some other clothes while we were there, but it all seemed awfully expensive for what it was. Difficult process to return wrong color bottoms for a kid going to uniform school. I had bought items months ago only to find out it was wrong color. I did not have receipt, which was my fault. Nonetheless, for uniform store, inventory is poor. Workers are not much help, nor do they feel they should be helpful. I love Lands' End clothing for my boys - school uniforms, sweatpants, flannel shirts, winter jackets, hats, scarves, etc. I don't really care for their clothes for myself. I try, but I look too "precious" in their styles. Quality is good, customer service as a corporation is excellent. I usually do my shopping online and return in store if I have to. That said, my 3 stars is aimed at this particular Lands' End location and the staff of middle-aged women (age 50+) who work there. I've encountered a handful of employees with put-upon airs and chilly demeanors who look at you like you're butchering the English language when you ask them a question. I highly suspect this place is staffed by retired librarians and teachers ... the ones no one liked. read more

Great customer service. I bought a dress while out of town, and stupidly did not save the receipt. I later found the dress online for a much lower price. I called the store, and since the purchase was within a two-week window, they issued a credit to my card for the difference. I thought that was awesome, and therefore I will continue to shop Lands End! read more
