I had their sesame chicken and fried rice chef's special and I was pleasantly surprised. Usuallt sesame chicken and orange chicken always tasted the same to me, but this actually had great flavor. It was balanced between tangy and sweet with a tiny bit of heat. I ordered "hot spicy" and I would say it's more on the mild side. Their fried rice wasn't anything special, but it did the job. I like fried rice more than steamed rice when eating Chinese food so this hit the spot. As for the place itself, it's not the most aesthetically pleasing place, but it's clean and it has everything you need. It's super clean and the staff is nice and understanding of your order. I will say they did forget an order of white rice, but it was such a small part of my order I didn't bother. Definitely will love to come back here! read more

Please note I have been patronizing Landover Carryout for over 10 years for regular eating to ordering for parties etc... I was extremely disappointed this visit (spent $80). I was one of the first customers when they opened. I got my food went home. Opened it and noticed it does not look fresh like it usually does. The fried rice seemed hard and old. As I ate some of the food and moved it around I had some tail pieces of shrimp at the bottom of my container. The top part of the shrimp was bitten off and the tail was left. This made me think did they give me some returned food from the night before ???? I was highly upset. I will never go here again. I should have turned and walked out when I saw a man who appeared to not have gloves on tossing chicken or something in flour to fry. I will never patronize Landover Carryout again. Our community needs to reevaluate what businesses we support by the way we are serviced and what they give back to the community. It's convenient to have someone else cook for you, but respect for customers and how you prepare their food goes a long way. read more

I have eaten here a few times in the past. I decided to get some fried rice. Was shocked to see shrimp fried rice is almost $13 at this spot. I got it anyway and was mad I did. Let's just say the health Inspector may need to visit more often. I was not feeling very well afterwards to explain it in the best way I can. The Wegman's up the street makes better fried rice. I've been coming here since the early 90s when fries with the good (real) mumbo sauce was $1.10 and the food was consistently good. Service is kind now for the most part and the prices used to be great. Delivery is speedy (assuming they've received your online order bc it's a waste of time ordering from their website, they don't receive it and they seem to not care they have a faulty site). Since the remodel/mini location change, they've jacked up the prices along with the delivery charge (I never mind tipping the driver as long as they actually deliver it to my door during daylight hours but some catch an attitude about leaving their vehicle), the online prices and what's printed on the menu do not correlate so my total ends up being $2-5 more than what I was emailed as an order confirmation, they have not been getting my order right lately, some of the food is not of the same quality so sometimes I'm pleased with the food, other times it tastes like I wasted my money. It is one of the cleaner and better carryouts but I remember how it used to be and it used to be better. And I refuse to pay $11 for a sub full of cheap processed meat. P. S. I just moved to the area and ordered delivery for the first time a couple nights ago. I move a lot for my job and always try to find a good Chinese (Chinese-American) take out place wherever I land. And this place rocks! The combo fried rice is packed full of meat, the crab rangoons are delicious and full of flavor, and it all arrived hot within 25 minutes of ordering by phone. I also ordered the Gyro (because I wanted to see if a Chinese carry out place could do a good Gyro) and YES THEY CAN! It was all very good. And the delivery man was very courteous too. I have patronized them mainly out of convenience, but after waiting for a delivery order for an hour and 20 mins, I was treated very poorly. Really good wings (fried hard). When they first renovated they were having some issues with food consistency. I can say now that those have all been worked out. The food is better than most of the area carryouts. My husband loves their wings fried hard with salt and pepper. I love the orange chicken and their burgers.
