The crew came highly recommended, and from my very first phone call, I quickly understood why. They were responsive, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer my questions by phone or text. And when I could not make up my mind about the roof color, Bob Hobbs went above and beyond - he actually drove me to multiple homes so l could see the different colors and styles on actual roofs. That made the decision so much easier! Steve Lengacher kept me updated on scheduling and actually helped make my day a bit brighter at times. The crew arrived exactly as scheduled and immediately impressed me with how careful they were with my property. They took the time to cover my landscaping and made every effort to keep shingles and debris away from my plants. Of course, it's impossible to avoid every single piece when replacing a roof, but somehow my landscaping survived beautifully! During the project, they pulled plywood and removed a yellow-jacket nest. They paid close attention to the details, making sure I had adequate ice and snow shield and adding additional waterproofing up a section of wall where there was a potential problem area. Those are the kinds of things that give you confidence that your roof is being installed correctly-not just quickly. And then came the cleanup. After the roof was completed, the crew didn't simply pack up and leave. They actually went through my landscaping, lifting leaves and checking carefully for small pieces of asphalt and debris. They followed that up with magnets to make sure they had picked up any stray nails. I was genuinely impressed by the amount of care they put into leaving my property as clean and safe as they found it. The follow-up afterward to make sure I was happy with the results was also very much appreciated. Every member of the crew was polite, professional, knowledgeable, and clearly took pride in doing the job right. They made a great impression from beginning to end. I've already recommended S&L Construction to friends, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a roofing company. I was scheduled to have the roof done on Thursday; however, SL Construction was able to get me in a week earlier. The crew arrived at 7 am sharp and only took them 10 hours to complete the project. They did shingles in the front of the house and flintlastic in the back. The color of the shingles flowed smoothly with the color of flintlastic. The crew cleaned up very nice, leaving no mess or nails. Steve Lengacher and Bob Hobbs were quick to respond when I had questions. They even called afterward to make sure I was satisfied. I highly recommend this business and hope to do business with them again in the future.

(Other contractors didn't) No debrief when they were done, they just left. Didn't tell me what they did, what it looked like, when to expect a bill, anything. Just climbed down and drove away. Didn't clean up well. They used a leaf blower and blew the roofing nails and mortar dust into the yard. But only in the front, they left nails and shingle scraps all over the back deck and yard. They dumped their extra mortar into the stormwater culvert. Pretty sure that's not legal. Either way, it's trashy. I shoveled it out. Summary: the fixed the issue, but I won't call them again.

They said they'd be over to do the job later in the next week, but on Monday 07/26 they said they had time to put me in. They did a FANTASTIC job! Both roof and siding, as well as the awnings which were in pretty rough shape. Removed the moss/algae/crud off those awnings faster than I thought possible. The owner and his team member were polite, professional, and amazingly helpful. And the best part is, not only did they do a great job removing about seven years worth of yuck from the house and roof, the amount they charged me was $75 LESS than the quote I was given over the phone.
