A representative came out and gave me an initial quote of around $1,800. He was friendly and explained that a full frame replacement was the best option to prevent any dry rot from spreading. He also said they would sand and paint the trim around my skylight window. I signed the commitment, but the office never called for the down payment as promised. When I followed up a week later, they had no record of my estimate--the rep had quit and they couldn't find his notes or contact info. They sent out a second rep who apologized and explained the first guy had made a big mistake. The new price was $3,000. He personally promised to come paint my skylight trim himself to make up for the large price increase and the inconvenience. They scheduled the install, but canceled the morning of the appointment (after I had already cleared my whole day) because they hadn't finished the job from the day before. The actual installation went okay, but they used non-paintable silicone caulk even though I told the installer I planned to paint the exterior to match the rest of my cedar house. The install chipped some of the existing paint near the windows, and now paint won't stick to the caulk at all. It looks very noticeable and unfinished. The worst part came after I paid in full. The rep who promised to paint the skylight trim completely ghosted me. I texted him multiple times to confirm our agreed-upon date (I had already bought all the paint and supplies), but he never responded. Since this was offered as a personal favor outside the contract, I have no way to hold them accountable. I chose a small local company because I like supporting neighborhood businesses, and the rep seemed genuine--he even mentioned doing work for my neighbor down the street. Unfortunately, the misleading initial quote, the big price jump, the last-minute cancellation, the wrong caulk, and especially being ignored after I paid have left me extremely frustrated with unfinished work and wasted time/money. I would not recommend them.

The crew came highly recommended, and from my very first phone call, I quickly understood why. They were responsive, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer my questions by phone or text. And when I could not make up my mind about the roof color, Bob Hobbs went above and beyond - he actually drove me to multiple homes so l could see the different colors and styles on actual roofs. That made the decision so much easier! Steve Lengacher kept me updated on scheduling and actually helped make my day a bit brighter at times. The crew arrived exactly as scheduled and immediately impressed me with how careful they were with my property. They took the time to cover my landscaping and made every effort to keep shingles and debris away from my plants. Of course, it's impossible to avoid every single piece when replacing a roof, but somehow my landscaping survived beautifully! During the project, they pulled plywood and removed a yellow-jacket nest. They paid close attention to the details, making sure I had adequate ice and snow shield and adding additional waterproofing up a section of wall where there was a potential problem area. Those are the kinds of things that give you confidence that your roof is being installed correctly-not just quickly. And then came the cleanup. After the roof was completed, the crew didn't simply pack up and leave. They actually went through my landscaping, lifting leaves and checking carefully for small pieces of asphalt and debris. They followed that up with magnets to make sure they had picked up any stray nails. I was genuinely impressed by the amount of care they put into leaving my property as clean and safe as they found it. The follow-up afterward to make sure I was happy with the results was also very much appreciated. Every member of the crew was polite, professional, knowledgeable, and clearly took pride in doing the job right. They made a great impression from beginning to end. I was scheduled to have the roof done on Thursday; however, SL Construction was able to get me in a week earlier. The crew arrived at 7 am sharp and only took them 10 hours to complete the project. They did shingles in the front of the house and flintlastic in the back. The color of the shingles flowed smoothly with the color of flintlastic. The crew cleaned up very nice, leaving no mess or nails. Steve Lengacher and Bob Hobbs were quick to respond when I had questions. They even called afterward to make sure I was satisfied.
