He also recommended a key release since our garage is stand alone with no other entry or exit than the main door. He gave me the choice of two remotes or a remote/keypad option. Monday morning he called to say the door I wanted was in-stock and he could be at my house in a couple of hours to replace my old broken Garage door. I hired this locksmith after seeing positive reviews on Yelp, but my experience was extremely…read moredisappointing. I lost my car key and contacted him for help. He was able to cut a spare key but couldn't program it to my vehicle. He wasn't sure why it didn't work and suggested I just use it to manually lock and unlock the doors. That didn't work either. He then offered to fix the door lock, took apart my door handle and lock, only to say the lock was broken. His solution? Use a screwdriver to lock and unlock the car--completely unprofessional. He informed us that changing out the lock is super easy and that we could buy the parts online. I asked him to reassemble the door lock as it was so that we can attempt to learn when the parts came in, but he struggled and couldn't get the lock and handle back together. He said he'd return in 40 minutes with another tool and insisted on being paid upfront. We agreed to pay $100 and the rest upon completion. He never came back. We waited hours, reached out, and never heard from him again. The pictures below show how he left my car lock/handle. We eventually contacted Total Relock, who immediately pointed out that the first locksmith gave us the wrong key altogether. They not only cut and programmed the correct key for our vehicle, but also repaired the door handle and lock--everything the first locksmith failed to do. In total, we spent over $500 fixing the damage and getting the job done right. This was a frustrating, time-consuming, and costly experience. If you can't do the job please just be upfront about it. Transparency is key instead of lying to your customers and taking on a job you can't do. I absolutely do not recommend this business.
