Love this education & what it provides for people. I participated back in Aug of 2000. My life has not been the same since only because of what I discovered about myself in who I was being, when faced with many situations in my life. This education provided me with tools that if I chose to implement them in my life, I could unconceal my blind spots! We all have them. Boy, did I ever.. the beauty is discovering distinctions of being.. by that I mean .. I cannot change Any circumstance in my life.. and I can & do have a say in the matter of who I will choose to BE about it.. that gift alone is so empowering .. to know I have a say.. I can choose to express in my being and that allows for actions I can & do take to have any circumstance manageable as a human being. Communication is key & you too if you are committed to it can also experience how to elicit the best out of others.. that has been such a gift as all we all want is to have the best of relationship with others & with ourselves.. Being able to create a loving & harmonious relationship with my best friend & husband, that even though he has ALS, to empower himself & we together our relationship, to be our best selves daily.. to be alive right now, to enjoy each moment vs allowing the fear of this disease to dominate our lives so far, has been the biggest result of being a full graduate of this education!! So if you want to learn how to be your best self , I encourage you & everyone you know, to take this on. If everyone on our planet used the tools of this education, I can assure you, we could all experience our world from a wonderful view .. it would be so great for everyone.. nothing will change any circumstance .. yet you can alter your viewpoint & experience joy, love, gratitude, peace, just to mention a few things we humans desire in life. read more

The two stars is for our experience with the Landmark Worldwide Feedback Form. Not to the Landmark Forum. The first part of this is the original message we were trying to send through the Landmark Worldwide feedback form. The part after that is about not being able to get our message through on the Landmark feedback form, or not knowing it went through. Could someone please forward this important feedback below regarding North American Masterclasses, to the right people, as we were't able to get it through on the feedback form, or don't know what went through, or if it went through clearly? -- Original Message: This feedback is for the people accountable for the Chicago Masterclasses, New York Masterclasses, Los Angeles Masterclasses, and the person accountable for the overall schedule for Masterclasses. Or anyone who has the ability to make a difference with this. It is a big suggestion. But could make a big difference. Would it be possible to stagger the North American Masterclasses? Right now, the way it's been in North America is that the North American Masterclasses all start and end around similar times. So... There is always about a month, (3-7 weeks) at a time where there is no Masterclass at all running in North America. Meaning, there is a around a month were there is no Masterclass session you can be attending. Yes, there are regular seminars you can be in. But it is not the same. Especially, for those of us who have been in the work for a long time and many of us who have even been in leadership roles. Please consider that a month is a long time, especially in the world we are living in today, where it is more important than ever to have something like the unique structure of a weekly or so Masterclass to keep these conversations alive. And even if you look at some of the other Masterclasses in other areas of the world, this gap exists. And also the time difference makes it hard for us in North America to fill in with a Masterclass from say India or Australia or something. Or even sometimes the UK. Would it be possible to have a North American Masterclass that runs along a similar schedule as the Indian or Australian Masterclass. The problem is the North American Masterclasses then all sort of start up again around similar times and end around similar times, with some slight variation. So there's been just this big gap where there are no Masterclass sessions at all in North America, and then all the sessions return all at once, and it's all at once back again. It make sense on many levels why it might need to be this way. And that each center would want to keep their participants with them rather than risking them taking a Masterclass seminar at another center that might start up and run while they are on break. And a true stagger could make a big difference for those of us who would choose to keep going with a weekly or so Masterclass structure in and have then overlap, in a way that would allow for so many of us to have Masterclass participation to be consistent and ongoing. And it would still allow those who wanted a break in between to have a break, as there is usually a break between the end and the new beginning of a masterclass at each center. And yes we could always do a single course in between, or repeat the forum, and try to get by in the regular seminars. But the Masterclass offering is not the same. It is a unique more practical consistent and sourceful structure. And right now there is an opportunity being missed. And there is a repeated offering gap. because all the Masterclasses in North America choose to start and end around the same time. Does anyone reading this have the power to make a difference with this? Again, a big suggestion. But it could make a big difference. -- Spent a good chunk of time trying to get this through on the Landmark feedback form. Wanted to get it there straight to the source. Kept getting error after error. And we were told to send feedback there and that it could be anonymous. Sent it anonymously as we wanted to pass on the feedback without being contacted. We simply tried putting an email we don't use that often or noreply in the email form, so that we could get it in the suggestion box, so to speak, to the right people. Why did we have to try different approaches and send it in more than once? Well, first it wouldn't let us send the whole message through, so we tried oh so many times to send it through a section at a time. And got error messages after error message. Is it because we were sending more than one message, or more than one from the same email, or because there was the same topic heading in each. Tried changing topic and email etc. Still just got errors. we still don't know if it went through. Or went through repeatedly, or out of order. Even spent a bunch of time condensing to one message that was less clear. still got errors. Don't know if it went through but this feedback was really important. read more

Someone in the office named Sarah was completely rude to my partner more than once. Landmark Education is a place where people should expect to be treated with respect, including with a customer service issue or if someone is calling asking for help or a question. If someone calls to find out more about the Landmark Forum or courses we should be able to be confident that the person they are going to interact with each and every time always treats them with kindness respect and professionalism. And even know in the back of our minds that the people at Landmark in the office or in customer service will always go above and beyond. Customers, new customers or graduates, should never expect to get the run around, to receive non answers or ever to be talked down to, whether they are signing up for the Landmark Forum, moving their Landmark Forum, cancelling their Landmark Forum, or finding out more about the Landmark Forum or another program, or they need help with anything else related to customer service. The person they interact with from Landmark, whether in a quick moment, for a quick question, or something more detailed, could mean the difference between them doing a life changing program and not, or continuing in the next or future life changing programs or not. And the person they interact with should be an expression of service kindness exemplary customer service and professionalism, as that is something Landmark does say it stands for.  Not for some people. For each and every person. In each and every interaction. If we tell someone they can get help with anything related to customer service in the office, we want to be able to say with confidence they will be great with you and they will help you with whatever is needed regarding your program or customer service needs each and every time. Adding, withdrawing, moving things around, so you are in the program you need, the program that best suits you, and things are taken care of, and that each customer or potential customer is left feeling taken care of. really every time. read more

It would make a big difference if they set people up better before they put them into small breakout groups where we do the sharing and exercises, during the seminar, in the Masterclass and other seminars. We are taking the Masterclass seminar right now based in Chicago. There was a pretty bad experience with someone being oddly belittling condescending and nasty in a breakout group. So much so that I almost didn't continue with these seminars, which is otherwise great. It was a newer participant really just interrupting everyone and talking down to them, including using words like "honey." Feeling empowered to talk that way because they felt like this is what the seminar asked us to do and this is how we talk to each other here. No timing. No permission. No generous listening. Just talking down, and I'm in a leadership training program and everyone needs to listen to me, and I'm taking over this group as a coach, and this is what you should doing right now and this is the right way to do it. And everyone else just kind of being like huh and getting shut down. And no one else getting to share but that person because of this. Breakout groups are over quickly, so mostly you know you just get back to the great leadership in the seminar. I'm told it happens sometimes that someone thinks it's their opportunity to take over other people's turn or coach or interrupt or whatever, instead of just listening and letting each person have their turn and sharing from their own experience, or some generous version of that. I'm taking the time to say something because I believe if the seminar leaders knew this kind of thing was happening sometimes in these otherwise great breakout groups, they would do something to remind or set up how to listen to each other and let each other be. And let it be someone's turn when it is their turn. I wanted to bring it to someone, but didn't want to be in a position to call out someone particularly, when they felt they had somehow been empowered to do that by the seminar. Having this would have support us in being able to say to someone who is doing that, taking over other people's turn, interrupting them to coach, making people wrong and so on, it would make a huge difference in supporting us to be able to say, Oh, this is not what we're doing right now, we're not interrupting each other, we're not coaching each other or making each other wrong we are listening, letting each person have their turn and interested in providing a generous listening. In the past they always used to set people up just listen generously, be kind, not cross coaching and so on. And that reminder to not interrupt people, to offer a generous listening (which people mostly mostly do) and so on would just make a difference in each and every person have a better shot and having that kind of listening each time, or at the very least not being interrupted, cross, coached, not getting their turn to share because somebody else took it over and started talking. read more

It never occurred for me that I could recommend Landmark on Yelp! Having stumbled on the Chicago office from a related search I can not imagine a better thing to recommend. Great meals start up here on Yelp, extraordinary lives start in the Landmark Forum. While I have a ton to say about what I got out of the program I want to share two things here. To be clear I had a great life before the Landmark Forum. Wonderful family and work, etc. That said, before the Forum I was resigned to my work, pay and benefits regardless of what it was. After taking the program I doubled my income by simply putting into practice what I got out of the program. Since then I have had significant increases in responsibility and compensation well beyond what was predictable. I was also a person who was satisfied (resigned again) with the friends in my life. They were and are great. I just did not know what was really available!! Out of the forum I got what it means to open up and share myself with others. I travel to places and interact with people in ways I never thought possible. I can not fully find words to express the value I got and continue to get. If you are considering it, I say just Do it! I was initially enamored with Landmark and had taken many courses here. Over time I realize it was run by coaches who are not psychologically trained and can easily do more harm than good. Gains are superficial. You must swallow the cool-aid if you come here. They also do not acknowledge their limitations as trained coaches should. Further, they use you as recruiter -whether you call it multi level marketing or something else. Overall despite the warmth of people, I realize it was actually quite potentially destructive under the guise of empowerment. The best thing I learned from it? When to walk away. read more

I completed my Landmark Forum in the summer of 2012 and my life has not been the same. I didn't think that I "got" it -- until I realized the experience was nothing to "get". I walked in with one thought: expand my business. All I wanted breakthrough business success. I trusted However, in my Forum I met other human beings who shared my view, and, through their sharing, I saw an opening for myself and a life I could have if I just allowed myself to unfold and embrace the possibility of being able to trust people. Did the Landmark Forum almost 15 years ago at the recommendation of my boss at the time. What I learned at the introduction I got to attend before I registered made sense, although I was still skeptical going in. I had a pretty developed spiritual life having gone to Notre Dame and minored in Catholic Social Tradition and completing two years of volunteer work, during which I explored my faith and who I was - what were they going to tell me that I didn't already know. Landmark Worldwide is a company that has--for decades--provided courses, programs, and group and individual coaching to millions of people, organizations, government agencies, and groups. As someone who was trained in psychology and human resources with graduate degrees and doctoral work in human performance, I was interested in how the hell they could boast that they could "transform" your life in three days and an evening. It seemed a bit absurd. I had the trappings of a great life: a three-year old marriage to a great guy, a job that boasted of stock options, and a new house and car. And I didn't want anybody to know I sometimes cried during my hour-long commute to work. I didn't know much more than I wanted my life to be "better." Somehow. All in all, I didn't think there was much more I could ask for and felt a bit ungrateful for wanting more. And, truth to tell, I didn't want to admit that I was a little feeling dead and rapidly approaching burnout from a job that required me to oversee more and more workforce reductions. What I immediately appreciated was that I didn't really have to adopt their point of view about my life. Pretty respectful. I could challenge the course leader using aspects of my life I didn't believe "fit" with that the leader was pointing to. I could experiment in calls with family and friends, where I talked about what I was discovering about myself and about my relationship to them and to my commitments. I could ask for coaching. And, after I left on Tuesday night, I noticed something different. My marriage was on a more solid foundation. We could say anything to one another like "I want to start my own company, work on my doctorate, and start an educational foundation to help send kids to college" (all of which happened). Life got less stressful as I discovered that things aren't necessarily as hard as I believed them to be, no matter how much evidence I had to prove that is was. That was 20 years ago. Best thing I ever did for myself, my marriage, my business, and my extended family. There are simply things we don't do with one another like gossip, backbite or undermine. We say what we want and get it without suffering. No-cost introductory seminars are offered to learn more about their programs and how they may apply to you. Just be clear: These folks are not like any "salespeople" you have ever encountered. They will ask you--straight-on--what you want and how you'd like your life to be. Even if, like me, you aren't sure, they can work with you to help you dig beyond enough of the resignation to get a glimmer of a life you might actually leap out of bed for in the morning. In Chicago, staff members are remarkably thoughtful, sensitive, and considerate of the varied issues, cultures, ethnicities, and religious perspectives their customers come in the door with. That was important in my religiously-diverse family (Baha'is, Christians, Moorish Americans, and agnostics). When they say they are there to support you, they mean that--even if you don't exactly know what shape that support might take. They will really listen which, in a culture where we exchange greetings mechanically, can be a bit of a revelation. Landmark (and more specifically, the Landmark Forum) introductory course is an offshoot of est, a course popular in the 70's and early 80's that purportedly showed participants how to gain transformation and personal power. Unfortunately, est employed authoritarian tactics, such as not allowing participants to use the washroom, etc. Landmark purchased the est "technology" and reduced the authoritarian underpinnings of est. For example, they allow you to use washroom, though they caution that you have no right to expect any "breakthroughs" if you do. It's manipulative, but not restrictive. The word "technology" is used a lot in Landmark, presumably because it makes it sound like they are offering you something unique or scientific. Unfortunately, it's mostly self-help jibber-jabber (essentially, be true to yourself and express your needs/wants to others), with a healthy dose of "commercials". Commercials? A good deal of the Forum is spent telling you that you need to enroll others in the class so they too can learn how to better themselves and the world around them. They will also trumpet their successes and talk about how little money the company makes (unfortunately, this claim seems rather flimsy, since they never divulge how much the owners take as salary, which of course would not be divulged on a profit and loss statement). I've taken most of the classes and I think that most of the people who enroll are generally well-intentioned. However, despite claiming that the courses are for mentally healthy people, they seem perfectly willing to take money from just about anyone (the less said about this, the better) and don't always do a terribly good job screening their group leaders. All in all, you want self-help? Buy a book and save $495 and a lot of manipulation and psycho-babble. read more

These people annoy the heck out of me. I've taken the Forum, Advanced course and the Integrity seminar. When I didn't agree with something or had a problem with the teaching or methods or assigned homework, it was chalked up to the fact that I was somehow mentally blocked and it was an issue I needed to work through. Convenient. However, I have gotten a lot out of this coursework as well, so recently during a career self-identity crisis, I signed up for another seminar--The Landmark Forum in Action. Well, the day it was supposed to start my husband got locked out of the house and frankly, after waiting to let him in and a long day of work, I was not up for schlepping downtown, scrambling for parking in the freezing cold and sitting in a 3-hour seminar. I skipped this first, "MANDATORY" session of a 10-week course and received a call a couple of days later that I could not attend the rest of the course I had paid for because I was not present at the first session. Whaaaaat? Are you people crazy? Nope--just totally into their precious process that cannot at all be disturbed. I just got off the phone with the Center and had a conversation with a guy who told me that "mandatory means mandatory," akin to when you miss your flight at the airport, you miss your flight and that's it. I pointed out that, no, it's NOT like missing your flight, because the damn class that I paid for will be there next Monday evening, same time, same place. He didn't seem to buy that. Seriously, these people are nuts. And I used to BE one of these people. read more

i am a graduate of this education and my life has never been the same.... in a great way! landmark is not a cult by any means, its an educational program that helps you look beyond yourself and identify things that may be stopping you from living to your full potential. You will see things you never knew were getting in your way and you'll learn how to move past them. It is well worth the money you spend for a lifetime of new tools and technology to use in everyday situations. Landmark has helped me improve so many relationships in my life and given me more confidence in everything. I really believe anything is possible now that I've participated in this education. Anyone who says landmark is a cult has obviously never participated in the work. I have met a lot of intelligent people through the work and if you ask any of my friends and family they won't say that I've changed for the worst at all. In my opinion, participating in a program that promises everything landmark promises can never be a bad thing. We can all stand to learn a little more about ourselves. read more

Writing a review on Landmark Education is probably the most controversial thing one could write. Giving it five stars can be as conceited as it comes, however, is totally deserved! I started hearing about the Introduction Forum about 6 years ago from my colleague. She would come to work beaming with happiness and well, looked a little crazy. I went to a Tuesday night session with her (I could not say no) and left disgusted and feeling absolutely manipulated. Six years pass by and anyone who even mentions THAT THING to me encounters a fountain of sarcasm and all kinds of cynical responses from moi! Then my best friend starts to "brain wash" me into this. I sign up again. Attend for a day and a half and LEAVE righteously. I express my disgust to all that I know. (though I got my money back). I am just trying to emphasize that its a long journey for some to come, sit, listen with intent to listen, be "coachable" and suppress the constant urge to leave. I came back for the third time and what I got out of the Forum is literally enlightenment. It's not a religious form of it, its not anything. Its so simple, its unreal. I really wish I could explain what exactly they do with you there for three 11-hour days, I can not. If you have doubts about it but have an open mind, go and listen and participate. They urge to "stay with it" and you have no idea how that fits in! Its everything the reviews said it was, but such benefit I did not get through any self-help, meditation or like-wise. read more

A close friend (at the time, let me elaborate) was adamant about me attending a small info session on this, since it was "such a large part of his life and who he was". Of course I obliged, making it known that I cared. Cutting to the chase, NO, I did not spend the $500+ on the forum. Why not? The information session I went to was with one other man, a woman, and some other man, crammed into what seemed a former storage closet with a set of chairs and a small white board on a wall. Upon opening, we met our "instructor" who had "been changed by the program" and made it clear that we did not have to participate/speak if we did not want to. We were informed to choose a dilemma in our life and write about the issue surrounding it. I went with something involving my health--truly "testing" if their unique transformations could *even* "cure" chronic issues. I didn't feel like sharing details, of course, but CONSISTENTLY felt coerced to share; the instructor tried to pity me for not sharing, trying to maybe make me feel guilty...? The other man next to me was fine with sharing, seemingly getting something out of it. But he, like me, was not convinced of the BS "motivational" mumbo jumbo our presenter was serving us. Trying to tell me that I can do whatever I set my mind to and I was capable. Yea, I fucking know that, lady, you think I chose this issue? AFTER the fact, I was not convinced and decided to not proceed. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL, FOLKS. My friend, who recommended it to me, was "appauled" by the actions I mentioned, and his only concern was to make sure that I "didn't feel scared of it". I wasn't, until they called me for three weeks, after telling them at least twice to stop calling me. Consistently asking "oh, well, why". Even after it was clear that I did not want anymore calls, they emailed me stating "we have created your account". FUCK. NO. I was livid and yes--afraid. No wonder why this was my "friends" main concern at the time...I'm sure there are many people that get the wrong vibe about this place. I took this course in the 90's, when I was still in my teens and trying to figure out how to be more successful in life. I grew up always being very self conscientious, too embarrassed to go in front of others to speak, do presentations, or do anything in the public eye. A friend of mine convinced me to take the course, and see what possibilities could happen. The course was tough, over the 3 days. I saw a lot of people who had the same feelings of insecurity as myself, always worried about how other people judged them. The course taught me that a lot of that "mind chatter and worry" about how others would perceive me and potentially make fun of me was self-induced. That I could free myself from this worry and present the real me in front of others, as others are also very worried about how I perceive them, and we all limit ourselves in this self-induced con-game of trying to never fail or look silly in front of others. Thanks to this course, I got over my fears of public speaking. I have since gone on to have an amazingly rewarding career in public speaking. I no longer have the paralyzing fear of public speaking that over 90% of the population do. Did you know that people's #1 fear in life is public speaking? They are more afraid of that than death!! Everyone will get something different from the course. My breakthrough has made me almost $1 million dollars in income that I would never had the opportunity to do, due to my self-induced fears of public speaking. Was it worth the $300 - $400 that I spent in the 90's? You bet!!! Now the only negative in this course is the pressure to go on and take more courses. I never did because my funds were limited. However, the single Landmark Forum made such a difference in my life that I can overlook that negativity. If you're strong and self-centered you can say "no" to the advanced courses if you don't want to do it, and move on. This may be one of the most powerful courses you can ever take. Or you can listen to those who have never taken the course, and who repeat the negativity they hear from others who have never taken it, that it's a scam, it's a cult, etc. This is not a cult, not a scam. You do get something positive out of it. However, you can never know what positive life changing breakthrough you will get out of it until you take it. No one else can tell you either. We are all different, but that's what makes this course great - it will benefit you if you go through the 3 days of the Landmark Forum. You can choose to do it, or you can choose to listen to those who have never taken it and never benefit from it. read more

Here is why I did the forum. I went to an event because I was invited by a good friend of mine who said she had gotten a lot out of it and she knew I was big into personal and professional growth training. I went to this event and I watched one person after another come to the microphone and share stories of breakthroughs that they experienced in relationships with loved ones, facing up to gremlins they've spent years avoiding, and leaving,in the past, baggage they have carried with them in their life that was weighing them down. I was particulary moved by just how genuine and authentic each person was in what and how they shared. One person in particular though took the cake. He was a hispanic gentleman who had had an estranged relationship with his mother. They hadn't spoken in years and he had all but abandoned having any relationship with her. Something in the forum clicked for this person though. He gave up his anger, had a heart to heart talk and brought her with him to this eveing event. Then there in front of everybody he professed his genuine appreciation for all the love and sacrifices she had made for him through the years. What was so touching though was the genuine authenticity with which he expressed himself. His testimonial was enough by itself, but what I remember vividly is the expression of on his mom's face. That was enough for me. I signed up right away and have since done their entire curicullum for living, I assist regularly, and I am regularly involved with this community of incredible people. read more

I have been doing Landmark education for over ten years. I feel saddened for the people that have "lost" friends or family to this education, but does this speak something about you or them? Either way Landmark Education is a type of education, it is not a cult. When I hear people speak about the expense of Landmark I wonder if they have researched other educational programs, as most are costly. Landmark is pale in comparison. Landmark is offered in over 120 countries in the world. It is a well respected and exceptional education. The Forum is a three day weekend that allows people to explore their life, (who wouldn't want this, honestly?) I believe in personal growth and development. Landmark is a great education system that offers and opens up a lot of possibilities to many people. We all choose to grow and develop in different ways, but I highly recommend looking into Landmark. read more

Landmark Education, the good & the bad. I give it 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 b/c I do understand where some of the negativity comes from. This work is intense, but it is powerful and life-changing. I did the forum in 2002 and just complete the advance course and Self Expression & Leadership Program in Nov 07 and May 08 respectively. For the weak-minded it can become all encompassing much like a religion, but its not true for everyone. There is a shift in the way you look at the world after doing these programs and it is profound. Yes it can get a bit intense and the people who do it want others to do it too b/c so much opens up as a result. The key is learning to invite and accept whatever decision your friends and family come to without pressuring them. I stay in the work and in the conversation b/c it is a positive community, but after years of being part of a deeply religious family and then learning for myself how to make independent decisions depsite what the "group" thinks is right, I am able to navigate the waters of Landmak and any other group be it work, friends, religion or anything else using many of the tools I got from the Forum! I say go to an introduction for yourself and if its not for you fine, but don't knock it until you try it. read more

Since writing the original review, 4 years have passed and I have taken two other courses beyond the initial Landmark Forum (my original review was based on that): 2. The Advanced Course (another weekend seminar) 3. S.E.L.P. (Leadership and communication program over 3 months with weekly meetings and a few daylong Saturday sessions) My feedback remains consistent. Each course dug deeper into me and helped me grow. Thankfully after the Forum, the hard sell recruitment aspect of the program diminished to allow for other ways to practice skills covered in the courses (enrolling and registering others to your possibilities, etc.). I met some amazing people in these classes that I still keep in touch with today. I still regularly call on the concepts and skills I've learned, 4 years later and would not hesitate to recommend the program to anyone. When my kids are old enough, we will be checking out the kids' program. The SELP course in particular filled a very large gap I had at work to prepare me for managing people, and I already had my MBA. In SELP, you are assigned a group and a coach that you are in communication with constantly, forcing you to address your blind spots and aggressively grow. And we signed up. No other education or experience has had nearly the positive impact on our careers, leadership, friendships, or relationships with family members. Period. Well ... Landmark. How do I describe this? Landmark is a personal and professional development program that I believe is outstanding. and imperfect. In the world where there are all sorts of self-help program this is a VERY different - it doesn't teach you HOW to do something. It teaches you how to create the life you want for yourself and then gives you the practical steps to achieve it. In the process, the options you thought you might have are radically expanded in to things you may not have known could exist for yourself. It is pretty amazing. ............ My story is that I had set up my architectural business and had a staff that were trained and set up to achieve amazing work for themselves and the business. I believe that as a firm (Turley Architects) we create great lives for others and we have to walk the talk back at the office with the staff too. Problem was I could not get them to get out of first gear and get excited about what they were doing. It wasn't bad, it was ... meh. I went to a venture capitalist friend and separately a VP friend of a prominent architectural company. Both, separately (one in Chicago, one in Phoenix) said the same thing - you have set up very advanced employee empowerment structures within your business and therefore it might be something you are doing inadvertently. I could not see any situations that I was doing this (and was a slightly offended at the thought) but these guys were, for me, the kind of people that when they gently suggest you do something, you damn well do it. I signed up and went to the program with no other information than their suggestion. I went expecting a business seminar - another of the countless ones I have attended. You know the type - you spend two grand listening to someone lecture for eight hours, you take notes, you file the notes away and never look at them again. Maybe you grab a couple of things and integrated them in to you process to do. This program was radically different. First it costs a fraction of that, is a whole intense weekend (loved that I would take only one work day off for forty hours of training) and it was done in a format that was surprisingly effective. It took a few hours but I began slowly to realize what I could achieve there. They help you see what you can not see - and sometimes this is a surprising and initially challenging. For me it WAS something I was doing with my employees - I had no idea. In my mind I was being helpful and in reality I was robbing my staff of their power. It was astonishing how simple - but I had to give up being right about it and see the effect. Monday I went in and met with the employees and cleaned it up. Took half an hour. Thursday, after a couple of days of them waiting to see if I was actual committed to them engaging, one of them came to me and asked if she could start up the construction company I had discussed starting in two years. The following day we signed one of our architectural clients and started our construction company two years ahead of schedule. That is going from first gear to fourth gear. All the others followed in their own areas of interests and the firm took off and my life got easier - I was no longer pulling the firm forward. They were empowering it and at times I had to hustle to keep up to them. I was able to go on vacations with the assurance that they had my back and the firm. That is the possibility of taking this program - you get to see what you cannot see, move it out of the way, and create a future you did not think was possible. One more thing. As a result of working on my own listening and way that I was being and what I was doing, I also ended up affecting my personal life. My relationships changed with my kids and especially with my Mom from whom I was functionally estranged from. I eliminated what I could not see and it opened up the world around me - employees, family, and friends.. Regardless of where you are in your life - whether it is going great, going rough, or worst of all ... just blah, get in to this program. You will be amazed and forever thankful at what new things you create for yourself. Is Landmark perfect? Not by a long shot. I think their business model is tired. They are SLOWLY updating it so that is good. You need to look beyond this though, just like you do with any other corporation. What I found in the classes I took is this: their intention is solid and the 'product' is the best value and unique in this market. I recommend it to everyone who wants to achieve more in the one precious life they have. Like my two friends said to me - go sign up. I wasn't quite sure what to expect after signing up/paying for my attendance in the Landmark Forum. I related to myself as a people pleaser and had reached a point where "seeing that" didn't give me access to break free from continually being that way-leaving me stressed & depressed (of course, I always did my best to NEVER let that "show"). By the time I completed the 3 day, one evening, weekend...I felt like a had a CLEAN SLATE on living life!!! Not only did I discover "where" the people pleasing thing stemmed from-I got so clearly and freely for myself how to "stop it"!!! And, I DID! Literally, from listening to what others' shared and listening to the coaching of the leader. What I DIDN'T go for and surprisingly got out of it---STILL knocks me back---is a restored relationship with my father. I had come to "it is what it is" with him and had NO idea just how resigned I was about how things were between us AND how much I wanted/longed for more, but was too scared to put myself out there with him. I was invited by a friend to go to their graduation event. It was quite boring but I went because I am a good friend. They then tried to give me the hard to sell to sign up for the classes. The pitch has a high pressure sale.They seperated me from the person who brought me. Asked people to share issues and then tell you based on your issues you need to sign up for classes (no matter what the issue). They wanted money up front to boot! They told me to wait for your friend to come pick you up if you decide not to sign up. If you sign up then you can leave the room to sign up and you friend will meet you elsewhere. As I was waiting (I refuse to sign up for classes for anything that charges without sleeping on it) they keep presssuring me to sign up.Three seperate people gave me a sales pitch to sign up. I texted my friend to come and get me in a hurry. She was unaware that I was waiting for her. That tactic isn't right. If this program helped you great, but it made me feel like they were bullying me to join. read more

People say its a positive organization but I'm not sure, I think you should do more research before joining or spending so much $ and time here. The ideologies here are a bit off to me. I learned some interesting things in the forum and definitely left with more clarity on my life, but wouldn't necessarily recommend the other seminars. Let's be honest, if this isn't a cult, it's about as cult-like as it gets. Very scripted. Very rigid. They have their own language. And almost half of every 3-hour seminar is spent pressuring you to bring others into the organization. Roughly half of the people in each seminar seem to drop out somewhere along the way, which probably could be prevented if they cut the time in half and just focused on their best content. But not sure they really have much content beyond the forum - seems like most people just benefit from a structure that holds them accountable and nails the same principles into their heads. My advice would be to go to an intro session and consider taking the forum, but skip the rest. read more
