The little was in the stroller, except for the obvious bench swing ride we had to take!! It was easy to get around, even on the beaten paths, just took some elbow grease and my oh my, what a treat! It was astonishing that I hadn't found this little gem yet and so grateful we did! We saw benches from the freeway and the pond and just went for it, cheers to Mother Nature being jaw droppingly gorgeous and to such a well cared for park! You can book your reservations online however we decided to pay up at the desk due to the weather. Didn't know if it was going to rain but it turned out to be a gorgeous day. First it is required to sign a waiver then you check in. There are several options. You can choose between the 2,3,6 or 8.5 mile trek. You can rent tandem kayak, single kayak or canoe. We opted for the tandem kayak $86.00 for the both of us and we did the 6 mile round trip. You pick your life jacket, wait for your name to be called out and you take a bus. From there they will drop you off depending on what mile marker you chose. The staff makes sure to explain where to not go and when you have to be back. Make sure you are back by 7:00 pm. Once you get to the river you pick your paddle and kayak/canoe and off you go. You may hit some rough shallow spots but for the most part, it was smooth sailing. Make sure to pack a small cooler for your drinks. Stay hydrated. We also kayaked to Little Miami Brewing and had a couple of libations. That was fun! Overall the whole experience was great and I had a blast. Coming back the staff was super friendly, helpful and laid back. I would definitely come back. This place rocks.

He read something about having birds of prey at this park .. we'd never been there and didn't realize it was going to take an hour to get there. All of them were not going to be able to be set free which is always sad but we got to observe them from a short distance and they answered questions about the bird which was interesting. YOu never know till you try .. if I had know that was all it was I'm not sure we would have drove that distance. we looked at the birds for about 30 minutes and drove back. there was no fee for the park or the birds of prey

Parking is decent, I've been when the lot is full and when the lot is empty. Would suggest a weekday morning/early afternoon if you'd like a bit more seclusion. Near the entrance of the trail, there's a large red tree that won an award in recent years. It's beautiful and the kiddos loved safely and respectfully climbing on the branches. I'm envious that this tree is not in my own yard. I took three little kids under the age of 5 on the smaller loop of the trail and it was not strenuous for them at all. The trail is wide and nicely paved with rock. We crossed a couple very safe bridges and fell in love with the beauty of the ridge. On the trail, it doesn't even seem like you're near the city/in the suburbs. The tree canopy keeps everything cool, green and mossy. It is a gorgeous sight. The trail does continue on past the first loop, to an overlook for the river. I can't comment on that trail specifically but it looked well paved with rock as well. Not a lot of benches to sit or tables for a picnic, this is more of a walking area.
