Landauer Medstar was the company that supplied the Walker when I was in the hospital. It belongs to me now and I'm happy with it. They billed Medicare and my Blue Cross. I still owed $10.63. When the bill arrived I tried to use the QR Code to pay the bill. After several attempts a screen popped up saying to call the toll free number. The reason for two stars instead of one is because the customer service representative Edrian was very nice. He took all the information and also had my information so I knew he was aware of my account invoice. Just as requested a email came verifying the invoice was paid. I may unsubscribe from emails. They want you to download the app and set up recurring payments. I sure hope I don't need anymore medical equipment of any kind!! If I do I'll have to use whatever company NYU Langone uses. They purchased the walker for me when I was hospitalized. read more

Landauer Medstar/Adapt Health DME Company was contracted on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, and we have still not received the ordered items as of 1:08 p.m. today. The delivery was promised for Thursday, May 22, 2025, and they were supposed to call one hour before arrival. As the day progressed, we urgently requested a status update, and the woman we spoke to advised that the item was on its way. She would reach out to dispatch to obtain an update on the ETA and call us back in 15 minutes. That callback, nor the products, ever came. We called again on Friday, May 23, 2025. I spoke with Tatyana at 10:40 a.m., who verified my Dad's details and gave several inconsistent answers. "The item had not been delivered the previous day due to an undisclosed issue with the truck, and the item has not been assigned to a driver, but it's expected to arrive today. I requested to speak to a supervisor, and the young lady tried very hard not to connect me, but I insisted. I finally talked to Onessa Leach at 11:23 a.m., who offered more excuses during our 45-minute conversation. She advised that the item had been picked up, but they were still awaiting the delivery time and claimed to be sending emails to the Dispatch leadership for clarification, but they were unresponsive. I held on as long as I could tolerate the gaslighting and outright lies. My concern is that they had already been paid but had not delivered the item to a patient who was discharged on May 18, 2025, after undergoing major surgery, and they did not seem to be taking the matter seriously. This delay is not just an inconvenience, it's a direct impact on patient care. I was on the phone with them for nearly 2 hours, pressing them (calmly and respectfully, although very frustrated) about the matter, trying to get clear answers and delivery expectations. Onessa promised me a call back to provide an update, which came at 1 p.m., with an estimated time of arrival between 3 and 7 p.m.; again, the order never arrived. We received a text message at 11:01 p.m. advising of a delay, with no new estimated time of arrival (ETA). Another message came on Saturday advising that they needed to verify my Dad's information, which was again provided. Today is 5/27/2025, at 2:04 p.m., and the delivery still has not arrived. Update: We were informed that one of their drivers had previously filed a false report, claiming that he attempted a delivery but received no response. However, today, when the item was delivered, the driver was granted access by the security personnel in the main lobby. They were able to take the elevator upstairs and leave the package at the door without needing a signature. This shows a complete lack of integrity! read more

This company doesn't even deserve one star. They are part of a company named Adapt Health located on West 30 Street in NYC. Well over a year ago I was fitted for a sleep apnea machine which did not work effectively for me from the beginning. I was sent a replacement machine and that too had problems so I returned it to their office on 30th Street. Unfortunately I did not get a receipt. Ever since then I have been billed by "Young's Medical (aka Adapt Health) on a monthly basis. I have called each time and disputed the charge however I am still getting billed and today discovered that they have increased the amount substantially. I ordered supplies for a cpap machine on June 23,2023. On July 5,2023 I called Customer Service for the order status .I have received misinformation from customer service and contradictory emails and text message. One message states items were shipped followed by a message that there is a problem with the order. one message indicates items ordered are being sent followed by a messages of items that are not for the CPAP machine are being shipped. Customer Service does not have a reason for the errors or delays or are able to resolve . I left messages with their management . I received a cane provided by Landeauer Medstar after recent surgery. I received a bill which was OK. I completed the payment coupon with my credit card number. The company never charged my CC. A month later I received the same bill and AGAIN returned the coupon with cc information. Still no charge on my cc. Next month I received another bill with a late charge. I called their customer service department and explained the situation. They were absolutely no help. I have to assume they received these mails since they were not returned to me by the post office. My oxygen concentrator failed at 11pm. I need it or I could develop a heart condition. I called and they said they would send a new one by 1am. They did. I have been a "Landauer Medstar" ( or whatever they decided to changed their name to for the forth-(4th), or fifth-(5th) time ), for twenty plus-(20+) years. The same inept employees, or "supervisors " and/or "managers" that they have perennially had, they still, alas, have. More significantly, I--because of a Cystectomy with Ileal Conduit surgical procedure--require Urostomy pouches: that collects my urine. Landauer Medstar, sent me the wrong items: "18903" when they were supposed to send me "18913". I called last week to have the problem ameliorated. I was advised that someone would come to my home to pickup the wrong items. Which they did. That the correct items would be delivered to me Monday, of the next week. It was not. The items were sent to me on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Guess what they sent me? You guessed it. They sent me three-(3) more boxes of the wrong items "18903" again. I called and spoke with someone that said she was a manager. Her name is: "Michelle". She promised me that she would call me back "...in ten-minutes..." she never did. I called Landauer Medstar and spoke with a supervisor name "KC" who advised me that he would have the matter "...corrected..." I advised him that the item acts as my urinary bladder. That I have been out of the items for more than a week. He said the I will receive the items in another week. That means that I would have to go without items that I am in dire for, for two-(2) weeks. What would you rate a company that you trusted and have been a patient of for more than twenty-(20) years? Mom died of covid19 late April. Just got a call (June 15) from Landauer Medstar wanting their wheelchair back. They said it was a rental. We never knew it was a rental (Medicare paid) so it was probably tossed out or donated when the apartment was cleared out. The wheelchair was originally received either by her home care aid or by the security desk. Paperwork needs to be much more clear and left in the patient's home if you want to get your wheelchair back. The woman that called me was honest and said that yes this happens all the time. They call the family of the deceased and no one knows that the chair was a rental. They know that their paperwork is not clear. They know that their clients routinely dispose or donate the wheelchair without realizing that it was a rental. I asked her to speak to management and arrange for more clear paperwork. I BEG ANYONE WHO NEED'S MEDICAL SUPPLIES TO PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM LANDAUER MEDSTAR (Adapt Health)!!!! They will bill you repeatedly for supplies and a lot of times and they don't even arrive. They expect you to file a claim with USPS which I find is ridiculous since they should be the one following up with the carrier. Here's a great practice they should learn, how about sending tracking #'s to customers also?! None the less, this company is SHADY. I have no doubt they are overcharging my insurance also because they have sent me supplies that don't even fit. They said just to toss them and not worry about it! Basically my beef is they sent me supplies when I didn't order them. I didn't order them because when they said I ordered them, I got laid off a few months prior due to Covid. I would NEVER order CPAP supplies since I was unemployed and uninsured, I just wash what I have and reuse them. For conditions that require an ongoing need of medical supplies this company practices very aggressive sales of those medical supplies via email, text and calls on an almost weekly basis. In their most recent call when I asked what the equipment would cost before and after insurance the rep could not tell me - so I was being asked to order something with no idea of its cost was, they referred my question to the billing department that never called me. They should at least be able to provide that. read more

Overall rating: F- This company is HORRIBLE! Twice now my father's doctor faxed in orders for CPAP supplies. Twice they've claimed to never have received it. I would NOT be shocked to find out they were billing for services they never actually provided! I'm going to ask the doctor next time if we can try a different company since this one is obviously not interested in our business anymore. Previously, they would call you non-stop to remind you to reorder your supplies. Now they don't care even when you DO order! AVOID at all costs! ***UPDATED 5/22/19: My father had been trying to get his CPAP supplies from Medstar since 12/11/18. His doctor sent the supplies order 5-6 times total over several months. Finally, an employee from Medstar called to explain the original order was cancelled because they no longer carried his model of CPAP nasal mask. I needed to go on their website to research and select a different nasal mask model and call back with a replacement model. My father finally received his CPAP supplies on 4/2/19! It only took 3.5 months, much inconvenience, and headaches! Unfortunately, Medstar is contracted by Medicaid so you can't use another vendor according to my father's doctor. Worst case scenario, you can complain directly to Medicaid and sometimes that helps speed things along with Medstar. In fact, you will have to call ad nauseam to get a critical hospital bed delivered for your loved one. You'd better not really need anything you're getting from Medstar because it takes them forever to fill and deliver your doctor's prescription. they don't even offer the possibility of having a technician delivering your equipment and being sure you are using it properly. Ever since they took over Continued Care they have been horrible. I was sent 7 nasal pillows and one headgear in early December without doing an order and this was only 1.5 mos after my last order. When I spoke to them on the phone they said don't worry as I had already met my out of pocket expenses. What they did was wait till this year to file for insurance and bill me in order to "spread it out" so I am starting a new deductible. You can not log into their site other than the 3rd party billing site ... this would be bad if it what 1999 let alone today. read more

I am a Licesned Social Worker who often has to order oxygen supplies for my patients prior to their discharge from my facility. I had the unfortunate experience of being required to use this company for a portable o2 concentrator as the Assisted Living facility that my patient i returning to is contracted with this company. 1. I was left on hold for a total of 18 minutes, with customer service representatives continuously picking up my call and then placing me on hold. 2. Finally when someone answered my call, I was greeted by a man who was giving me maybe 15% of his attention. All I needed was a fax number and the information required from the facility to set up the account, really not a difficult call to get. 3. I took down all appropriate information and then just asked for his name for my records, he hung up on me. I called back, got him on the phone AGAIN after about 11minute wait time, IMPROVEMENT, and once he heard my voice he hung up on me again. Customer Service representatives should be more conscience of who they're dealing with. If I had been treated appropriately I would send them a lot of business. But after this experience I will consider them my last choice. It seems to me, after looking at the reviews, that they don't care about their reputation, which is a shame. Hopefully they figure it out and stop inconveniencing individuals who need their help. read more

When you call, they lie and tell you that they can't predict the total amount you will owe for the rental (rent-to-own as required by my sleep study center). No option for ZERO STARS. Second time I've been promised delivery between 12-4. Last time they arrived 5 hours late. So far they are almost 2 hours late this time. Waiting to have my wife discharged from the hospital, can't do it without the oxygen, and they were made aware of this at the outset. Avoid this company at all costs. They have only one job, deliver oxygen and supplies. They cannot seem to accomplish that on time. And they are exceedingly rude on the phone. Once the dust has cleared I will be making a complaint about this terrible service to Medicare, the Better Business Bureau and my Insurance company. My 8 yr old daughter had knee surgery at Columbia Presbyterian in ny ny afterwards she needed a wheelchair for school...the nurse made the call to the rep for landauer at Columbia. In 5 min they called me took my payment and the chair was delivered as promised that night. It was rented for one month. She only needed it 2 weeks . I called to Schedule the pick up and it's scheduled for today . The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is b/c they won't credit me for the time I. Don't need the chair. I think that's ridiculous. About scheduling a delivery: This took two weeks just to schedule because these folks do not give clear call back info; ended up having to hunt them down using online info phone numbers, not the numbers they gave me for call back. About equipment delivery (for a BiPAP machine): They give you a 4-hour window, 11am-3pm. First date: By 3pm I call, the guy can't get to me til later, when I am unavailable. Second date: Technician is perfunctory in showing me how to use the equipment, hardly helpful. A few days later I get a call telling me they need to schedule a guy to come because, "You want to switch out your machine." I have no idea what they're talking about, I tell them that. Turns out they gave me the wrong machine (and they're not getting paid by my insurance company for that one, hence their urgency). So now we are third delivery date: No show by 3pm, so it's on for the next day as I cannot wait for a few more hours. Who screwed up by order, I wonder? These guys just don't have their act together. Not sure if it has to do with poor morale, understaffing/too much work, poor communications, being underpaid...but they were a MUCH BETTER COMPANY years ago when I used them for my parents' DME needs. read more

On a day when wife was still in the hospital. They claimed my son refused the delivery. I DON'T HAVE A SON. When they finally delivered my order one item was correct, second item wrong. The worst. Took a month longer than expected to deliver my spouse's wheelchair, after hours and hours of phone calls. Asked for a minor repair because it's built slightly wrong, and the day after a tech failed to show, had someone try to exchange it for the falling apart beater chair they'd loaned us while we were waiting for rhe chair our insurance paid 2K for, instead of fixing the small problem. The chair they offered was actually entirely missing the part we'd asked for an adjustment on in the new chair. WTF. The absolute worst company to deal with. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! The CPAP I rent from them broke down. Called on a Monday was passed into tech support. Diagnosed over the phone as needing to be replaced. Was told sir it should arrive at your home tomorrow or the next day. That was Monday, this is Friday still no replacement. Called in around 4:30 Thursday afternoon looking for word on the replacement. BIG MISTAKE too close to quitting time (they close at 5PM). The person on the phone blew me off by saying they would call me back in five minutes. SURPRISE no call back. ZERO sense of urgency. ZERO care for the client. I got my CPAP equipment from them last March. I have 100% coverage by my insurance. My insurance has paid everything, I have all the EOBs with all the payments and stating that my responsability was zero. Landauer Medstar has been sending me invoices every week and calling me to pay them. They even charged me again for a supply that I paid myself ($22). They did not send me the receipt and then charged me $25. I called my insurance and they assured me again that they have paid to Landauer. Two days later a lady called me from Landauer saying that they have a letter from my insurance saying that it is my responsability I called the billing department of Landauer Medstar right away. They told me that my insurance has covered everything !!!!??? Last month I returned my CPAP equipment. I do not owe them a cent but today I got a phone call from a collection agency! I checked my balance on the Landauer website. It is zero. I called Landauer again and they said that I should tell the collection agency to stop harassing me...hey are the ones who should talk to them! Despite my balance being zero, the lady on the phone said that I still owe $25 for a supply!! I got the CPAP from another company now. DECEPTIVE BUSSINESS PRACTICE I wished I read the reviews before I delt with this company, They called me and asked if I wanted to re-order medical supplies. I was told there would be no charge, that it was covered by my insurance. After I get the supplies I get a bill stating my Insurance company only pays 80% and I have to pay the rest. I call their billing department and finally get to a supervisor who states I have to pay. I was also told I could not return the supplies either. The invoice date was 8/30/20, I received the bill 9/15/20 and called the same day. The supervisor would not give me her name nor tell me what regulatory agency I could file a complaint with ( I have Medicare Insurance) . She did give me their corporate compliance tele # (844) 415-6016 but recording states they are busy with other callers and leave a message which I did. No return phone call yet! I called on 11/14/22 and ask them to please reship my supplies that were lost and they said they would and would expedite the shipment. Landauer Medstar acquired my VERY GOOD medical supply company, Continued Care, and then started screwing with my supplies. Despite never asking my permission to be their customer, I got a $158 invoice for supplies I never ordered, let alone received. Their collections department called me twice per week (usually Saturday 8am) demanding payment for the bogus invoice. Then they sent me my normal order and invoiced me six (6!) times for one item in the shipment which I am now attempting to get fixed. Absolutely terrible company which now sends me to a support line staffed overseas (Continued Care was a LOCAL company with LOCAL support staff). F*** this company. read more
