I decided to take a trip to the shop and check it out myself. The store is located on the main road in Intercourse at the opening of the Kitchen Kettle Village, so there is plenty of parking. The shop is quaint, clean and inviting. It has a few tables on the porch for smoking. Upon entering, you are greeted by my new friend Dave! He is so nice and so helpful. They have a variety of different cigar brands but I came for the amazing John Hay Cigars. I bought a ton and I am looking forward to smoking each one. The prices are crazy good. Unbelievably worth every penny. I've been to many, many cigar shops and this store is really at the top. Such a nice experience and such a nice place to visit. There is a 100 percent chance I will be returning because it's rare to find a shop that you don't want to leave, maybe like even sleep over!

The Double Expresso was nicely wrapped and a really tasty smoke. The shop itself was small, limited options but then I came for the native made stuff anyhow. I know nothing about cigars, and Mr. Kindig took the time to explain a few things to me. He also helped suggest some cigars for the people I wanted to gift them to. Because my husband was performing next door that night, Mr. Kindig wanted to give me some cigars for free, but I told him that I'd like to pay the full price to support a small, local business. Both people I gifted the cigars to said that they were "very smooth" and "pleasant." Hearing that made me feel very fortunate to have crossed paths with this establishment.

Not my kind of place. The lottery counter makes it really noisy and distracting. Lady was in…read morethere bellowing out her ticket orders. And selling knives and such just detracts from what a good cigar establishment should be. Had the vibe and feel of an urban liquor store instead of the decorum of a fine cigar establishment. I couldn't find prices on any cigars which were in a glass case instead of a humidor. I was in there several minutes with no acknowledgement by anyone. Too busy selling lottery tickets. Just not what I am looking for.

I bought my first pipe from this establishment when I was starting to get into it. Still one of my…read morefavorite pipes. The store is small, but they do have a wide range of cigars for how small they are. The pipe selection isn't too bad, lots of "briar bin" pipes on the wall. Unfortunately as I've developed in my hobby, I can tell that most of these are pretty low quality, and don't warrant the 50-60% markup on them. They do have a separate glass case for Peterson and Savinelli pipes that they have for sale, and the mark ups on those aren't too bad, I noticed a couple of Meerschaum pipes, but nothing the experienced pipe enthusiast would consider dropping money on. Their pipe tobacco selection is "ok" at best. lots of low quality sutliff aromatics, although they do stock the tasty ones. There were a couple of tins of Ashton and one or two Peterson tins, but that was it. If you're traveling and need something quick, I would say this is a worthy stop, but if pipe smoking is your hobby, and you have a developed palette, then look elsewhere. Pipe accessories available, you'll find a emergency picker, ashtray, stem cleaners, etc... here no problem. The cigar cases were sad. Glass cases, and I really couldn't tell if the cases were humidified either. Again, an emergency stop for a decent smoke, but I would look elsewhere if I lived in the area. It's in a mall, so there is no smoke lounge available. The employees were polite and helpful the first time, and they were the second time too. But they do seem to move on from your questions pretty quickly. The lottery counter wasn't open when I went in the first and second time, but those would be an absolutely nuisance if they did come on. Good place.

Don't let the lack of reviews fool you, this place is awesome because it provides two of the most…read moredelightful things in this world: coffee and cigars. I had visited the shop some years ago but had forgotten how delightful it is. In the front of the store they have a section with tables and chairs where men can "solve the problems of the world." Then there is a lounge in the back with comfortable sofas and chairs for those, like me, who enjoy a good book and silence. Then further back is a members only lounge. What I most liked about this place is that there is no obnoxious music or television. This plus the dim lighting provides and ambiance that is conducive for thought and reflection. It was Sunday afternoon when I visited so it most likely will not be so restful during lunch hour during the week. The man who took care of me (I forgot his name) is quite interesting. He prepared my coffee, expresso with hot milk. I was pleasantly surprised and how delicious it was. As I disappeared in the back room with a good book, he left me alone but periodically appeared to see if I needed anything. Turns out he is not a paid employee but "works for cigars." He is retired and enjoys doing what I was doing, read and smoke a cigar. Don't judge this "book" by the cover. From the outside it doesn't look like much but the inside is very tastefully done. They also have pipe tobacco.
