I called the office again they advised the manager will call me back still waiting called again the manager is not in today she will call back tomorrow and still waiting and still no refund. This seems to be a common practice with this office since the same issue happened with my daughter a year ago. They are very easy to take your payment but a pain to refund what they over charged you. Specially knowing they are overcharging you. I'm guessing they think people do not look at their EOB's and request refunds.

Please, for your own sanity and financial safety, read my experience before you even consider this office. My wife found them listed as an in network provider through our dental insurance. That was the only reason I chose them. I am a single income father of five. Staying in network is not a preference for us. It is a necessity. I came with recent X rays. They refused to use them and insisted on taking their own. The dentist immediately pushed the most expensive option. Extraction followed by an implant. Their billing coordinator, Dorlene, quoted me around eight hundred thirty dollars out of pocket and swore this was the insurance negotiated rate. I had no reason to suspect they were misleading me, so I trusted them. They also demanded a one hundred dollar upfront payment just to schedule the extraction. On the day of the extraction they suddenly demanded the entire eight hundred thirty plus dollars upfront and claimed my previous payment went toward something else. This should have been a giant red flag, but I allowed the procedure anyway. Six months later I returned for the implant appointment, and this is when the truth hit like a brick. Dorlene tried to get me to sign documents without even letting me read them. She literally turned the monitor away and asked for my signature blind. When I refused and insisted on reading the paperwork, she reluctantly turned the screen around. What I saw was not a consent form. It was a document designed to trick me into waiving my insurance coverage entirely. The exact wording included: * I have been presented choices/options and fees in regard to my treatment alternatives, including covered benefit(s), where applicable. * I have chosen to go outside the coverage of my Insurance/Plan and proceed with the accepted/planned treatment at the estimated fees listed above. * By choosing the accepted/planned treatment listed above, I understand that I have an additional expense than if I choose the covered benefit under my Insurance/Plan. * I understand that this treatment will be considered optional/alternate/not covered/cosmetic by my Insurance/Plan. * I have chosen to go outside the covered benefit(s) of my Insurance/Plan and proceed with the accepted/planned treatment at the fees listed above. Had I signed blindly, I would have unknowingly forfeited my insurance rights. When I refused to sign this trap and asked to speak with the dentist, I was bounced around until they placed me in a dim room with the oral surgeon, Victor Celis. His behavior was unprofessional and hostile from the moment he walked in. He talked over me, interrupted every attempt I made to explain my concerns, and repeatedly told me to calm down even though I was not raising my voice or using foul language. When I clearly stated that I refused to sign away my insurance coverage, he delivered the most alarming line I have ever heard in healthcare: "You are not my customer. The insurance is." Then he refused to treat me. While waiting for paperwork they reluctantly agreed to print, I called my insurance company. After reviewing the dental codes, they told me exactly what I feared. For the original in network extraction, I should not have owed anything out of pocket. West Sunrise Dental overcharged me. They misled me. They tried to use hidden paperwork to pressure me into waiving my benefits and paying far more than required. I left the office upset, shaken, and disgusted by the entire ordeal. A dental office should never feel like a trap, but that is exactly what this place felt like. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and my insurance provider. Please protect yourself and stay far away from West Sunrise Dental. No patient deserves what I went through here.
