Since I had no use for it, it was just dead space. I decided to convert it into a bookcase. Roberto, the carpenter, was punctual for both the initial consultation and the job itself. He built the bookcase onsite to my specifications, using stainable wood with adjustable shelves. Other quotes I received claimed the work couldn't be done properly due to the room's wainscoting and chair rail, but Roberto handled it with ease. His craftsmanship is top-notch, and the price was reasonable. Here are some photos from mid-demolition and the final raw result. I plan to have the bookcase stained and caulked around the edges to complete the project. This is part of a larger renovation, and I already have painters lined up.
