I had some buttons resown on a very expensive brand new leather coat. She took her time looking at it. Told me how much it would cost. I decided to let her do it because A. I don't know any other seamstress that works with leather and B. I wanted my coat to still look new after the work was done. I trusted Yen because she is professional and experienced in her work. She guaranteed the work and that the buttons would not come off again. You have to realize this coat was brand new and the buttons came off within 4 times wearing it. I also had a shorter leather jacket with fur that I had the hardest time putting it on because of the fur getting stuck in the zipper. This jacket was also brand new and I had to have Yen fix it so that the fur wouldn't keep getting stuck in the zipper. Yen did a professional job of trimming the fur without destroying the look and feel off the fur. She did a beautiful job with it. I can now wear it again without having someone "help me put my jacket on every time I want to wear it." Yen has to charge what she charges because she is renting a place in the Mall. It's not cheap to have a place there. She also has to make money. No one is at work that doesn't want to get paid. After all her expenses at a mall, she still needs to put money in her pocket. She is there all alone and it's her business. No one should be working for free. You wouldn't want to either. She stands by her work, gives you a date and time to pick it up and guarantees her work. What more do you want?.. Great lady, great work, great experience here. Anything that I feel is worth getting "fixed" I would definitely go back to Yen. Thankyou Yen.

I had alterations done one time ever in my life and had no clue what reasonable pricing was. She quoted me $205 for a hem/steaming And adding a clasp: After I left I felt it was too much. I asked around and even talked to another highly recommended seamstress All of this within 30 minutes of me leaving her. I messaged her told her my concerns and she offered to lower the price by removing things I needed done. I explained I would never ask a business to adjust their pricing for me I would just like to go elsewhere. She lowered it to $160 but I lost the clasp and she wouldn't adjust the sash. I reluctantly said ok but afterwards I decided to cancel all together and collect my deposit back. Once I asked for my deposit she then told me deposits are not refundable and that the alterations were this price because of the rush. I needed to have back in 3 weeks. I explained none of this was explained before I raised concerns and you cannot just add policies as you go. Ready for where it got really bad?!? Buckle up! She had her husband of speaker phone talking to her indirectly about me. Saying that I am a terrible person that she needs to give me my money back and get me out of there. ( please give me my money so I can leave) He kept repeating that I was troubled and saying I feel really bad for her (me) and that she is a terrible person. Then proceeded to say that I was desperate for money that I needed my $100 back. Keep in mind she had my dress for less than an hour. He seems like a narcissist to be quite honest but I'm not a therapist! finally time to get my dollars back, the $105 I handed her in cash. AGAIN less than an hour before I was verbally abused by her husband on speaker phone.. She told me she had to Venmo me because she did not have it. Ma'am what even happen in that hour you don't have my cash. Asked me to come back in an hour and I said absolutely not... Venmo and don't even try to dispute it. I can't speak on her actual work but customer service 0/10 do not recommend. she will have her husband verbally abuse you.

In our final fitting, my mother and MOH looked at each other, completely overwhelmed of how to help me into my dress on the big day, and with five days before the wedding, my mom asked to hire her as our day-of concierge/assistant, and Michelle dropped everything to help! With an affordable price for her service, her presence was not only outstanding, it was invaluable. We didn't realize how much we needed her until the big day came. While myself as the bride was pretty cool as a cucumber, my mother was (for lack of a better word), a hot mess. Michelle not only took care of my needs (and thought of everything), but made sure my mother was calm, cool, and collected so she could enjoy the final moments of getting ready. Michelle came fully equipped with an arsenal of tools, a steamer, and such an amazing personality. She thought of all the small details, assisted the photographers and fluffed my dress as needed. She was prompt, friendly, helpful, kind, understanding, and all the things. Her alterations were stunning and I felt so comfortable and like a queen on my big day. She was there for all the moments and all the details, ensuring the ladies and men were properly ready to walk down the aisle and party at the reception. She is a dear person that felt like family that day. Would recommend her and will go back for other wardrobe design needs.

My friend brought her dress to this tailor in January 2024, with the hope of having it perfectly…read morefitted for her August 2024 wedding. She had her first fitting in March, and everything seemed fine at that point. We went to the final fitting on the Sunday before her Saturday wedding and the dress was a mess. The waist was too big and the dress was far too long. Salah first tried to convince her that it looked fine, then blamed the ill-fitting on my friend losing weight, which was not the case. He didn't seem to notice or care that half of the beading on the bust was completely missing. The bust was ill-fitting and rather than opening seams to remove fabric, looked like he had folded the fabric and sewed it down folded to attempt to adjust the bust. The bustle was a very visible metal hook on the back of the dress. We were told that the dress would be fixed on Monday, but when we called, we were told it wasn't ready and would be done Tuesday. On Tuesday, we were told the same thing. On Wednesday, we went to the tailor in the morning to lay eyes on the dress. The dress hadn't even been touched. Keep in mind, the wedding is on SATURDAY, LITERALLY IN FOUR DAYS. We are told the dress would be done that evening. We go at 7pm, and the beading has been fixed and the dress is short enough, but the waist is still far too big. The bride looked miserable, and the dress clearly was not correct, but we were too scared to let him keep the dress any longer. We were able to get in touch with a family friend who has altered wedding dresses before. She was appalled when she saw the state that the dress was in. She stayed up all night and had the dress perfect within 24 hours. The bride was ecstatic and looked beautiful on her wedding day. The bottom line is, no one should ever have to experience what my friend went through. This man has no business touching anyone's wedding dress. Khilo Sewing turned what should have been a happy week into an stressful and miserable one, literally having to beg for her poorly fitting dress back days before the wedding so we could take it to someone more competent. Blaming this on being too busy or not turning down other emergency clients is not an excuse. If you can't handle your workload to the point where you turn a dress that was dropped off 8 MONTHS AGO into a last minute emergency, you have no business accepting new clients. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Somehow their tailor had a mixed message and completely deconstructed then reconstructed the dress in an odd way. The tag is now under the arm instead of the back and there is a seam running up the front. The dress no longer fits and is now worthless. It was brand new and still had the price tag. I took it back to show them and Mrs. Kim became combative insisting that the dress was like that when I brought it to them. I have photos before of the dress and it clearly was different. There is no question that it was mistakenly altered at their shop. She refused to listen and accused me of upsetting them. After 20 plus years of frequenting their shop, I'm shocked at her reaction. I've now also seen similar negative reviews. Extremely disappointing. I am now out $250 for the ruined dress and alterations which they refused to reimburse. I will never go there again.
