I had purchased a watch as a gift, online, for a retiring co-worker. The watch I had found was pretty unique, something I had expected the recipient would enjoy, which she did. The problem was, this supposed quality watch died within about 6 months of gifting it. That really disappointed my friend. Though not complaining, she asked if I could help, as she knew of nowhere near her that she trusted to fix it. She found it was not a battery issue. I brought it to Ronal. Ben examined it and found that I bought it as new, it was an "old stock" watch, and the movement went bad. He explained that it would require a new movement, that this was a Swiss watch and if the Swiss movement was available it would generally cost more than I paid for the watch. He said that he would check into it and asked if a quality Japanese movement would be satisfactory. I approved of his very fair estimate and he had the watch restored in a couple of weeks. My friend was elated to get it back running. I realized afterward that he actually made really nothing on this transaction, after buying the new movement, and did this only to satisfy my needs, as customer service. I believe that is what these people look to do here and for that I am very grateful.

I walked into Gennaro Jewelers needing my tennis necklace repaired and walked out with not only a…read morenecklace that looked brand new, but a solution to something that had been bothering me for the longest time. I genuinely cannot say enough good things about my experience here! From the moment I walked in, Eric was welcoming and thorough. He took the time to inspect my necklace and explain what needed to be fixed. I was then brought downstairs, where I got to sit and watch Herman work on my necklace up close on a TV screen. I could see every little detail of the repair as it was happening, which was fascinating! While I was downstairs, Courtney came over and started explaining everything to me. At this point, I felt like I was on a little excursion tour and I was loving every minute of it! She shared how Herman got his start in jewelry repair when he was just 9 years old in Ecuador and how he's spent years perfecting his craft. Watching him work while hearing his story made me appreciate the craftsmanship that much more. My necklace was repaired, cleaned, and polished to absolute perfection. But here's where my experience got even better. While I was downstairs, Diana complimented me on my necklace and the diamond earrings I was wearing. What she didn't know was that those earrings had been driving me CRAZY for the longest time. Because of their size and weight, they would constantly tilt downward instead of sitting beautifully on my ears. It's such a small thing, but when you have beautiful earrings, you actually want people to SEE them! Diana asked what kind of backings I was using. I told her screwbacks, and she smiled and told me to come find her upstairs when I was finished. Well, I did, and she pulled out these jumbo-sized screwbacks and said, "Let's see if these work." She cleaned my earrings, had me try them on with the new backings, and I kid you not, I got emotional LOL. My diamonds were FINALLY sitting upright and looking the way they were supposed to! She jokingly called them the "magic bra" for earrings, which honestly couldn't have been a more accurate description. SOLD! I walked in for a necklace repair and somehow walked out with a problem solved that I hadn't even come in to address. All because Diana was observant enough to notice something and thoughtful enough to offer a solution. That to me is exceptional customer service. Before I left, Eric inspected my necklace one more time and even gave me some helpful advice on how to properly lay and store it to avoid future stretching or breaks. What really stood out to me was how genuinely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful everyone was. Nobody was trying to sell me something I didn't need. They were simply passionate about what they do and took the time to make sure I was happy. I left Gennaro Jewelers absolutely elated.
