Went in today to get my engagement ring resized. We were greeted right away and asked if we were…read morecoming in for any particular reason and I said to get my ring resized. We were directed to an associate to help us. She asked if I wanted a resize or if I wanted to add material instead. She let me try her ring on with the added material but I didn't like the feeling of it so I said I wanted a resize still. They brought us down to the jeweler who looked at my hand and knee exactly what size I'd be and took the sizing gage/ring out and confirmed. Took him about 20 min to resize the ring and it was perfect. Resized it from 6.25 to 5.75. No visible seam from the resize. Looks flawless. Would go back here for other jewelry needs.

I have been to this store previously, generally for minor purchases, watch batteries, sizing, etc…read more This time was different. I had purchased a watch as a gift, online, for a retiring co-worker. The watch I had found was pretty unique, something I had expected the recipient would enjoy, which she did. The problem was, this supposed quality watch died within about 6 months of gifting it. That really disappointed my friend. Though not complaining, she asked if I could help, as she knew of nowhere near her that she trusted to fix it. She found it was not a battery issue. I brought it to Ronal. Ben examined it and found that I bought it as new, it was an "old stock" watch, and the movement went bad. He explained that it would require a new movement, that this was a Swiss watch and if the Swiss movement was available it would generally cost more than I paid for the watch. He said that he would check into it and asked if a quality Japanese movement would be satisfactory. I approved of his very fair estimate and he had the watch restored in a couple of weeks. My friend was elated to get it back running. I realized afterward that he actually made really nothing on this transaction, after buying the new movement, and did this only to satisfy my needs, as customer service. I believe that is what these people look to do here and for that I am very grateful.

I have been a Kay Jewelers customer for years and has always been my go to place, however my recent…read moreexperience has definitely changed my mind. I purchased 3 rings and a necklace in mid December for holiday gifts for $1,023.75. When purchasing, I did not know sizes, but the saleswoman told me it did not matter as all the rings in the store are large and 6.75 in size. That I could simply come back after Christmas and they can be fitted and sent out for the right size which takes about two weeks. So I return on 12/29/19 to have the rings sized and so they can be exchanged for the right size. The saleswoman this day now tells me I have to pay $25 per ring for sizing as is charged on all ring purchases. She then tries to get me to sign a form authorizing a repair. What repair? This is a brand new item, I simply need the correct size. I go online on my phone to kay.com to purchase the same ring in the size I need and go all the way to checkout. Guess what, at no time am I charged a $25 sizing fee. So I challenge what the saleswoman is telling me to which she replies "I am offended by your accusation, but I will not charge the $25 fee per ring". I don't mind paying for something legitimate, but I also don't like being taken advantage of. At no time was I ever informed of any additional fees during my initial purchase. And obviously they want to move product, so they said to purchase the large size (which is the only one available) and simply exchange it later for the correct size which takes two weeks. I just wanted to put this out there for other customers going back after the holidays that you do not have to pay for sizing and it is not a repair. At worst, go online and purchase the correct size on Kay.com and return your current item. Shame on Kay Jewelers for trying to use deceptive methods to make extra money on loyal customers. I am one customer that will not be going back.

I of course don't expect her to stop working with that guest to help me, but either of them could have said "we'll be with you in a few minutes" or "welcome to the store" or literally anything. They didn't seem like they wanted the business that day so I walked out and went to another jewelry store where I bought my wedding band and won't be going to that Kay again.

It was going to be an expensive repair, which I had not anticipated. He made a suggestion to take all the diamonds out and scrap the rest of the necklace, which has significant gold weight, so I did just that! I picked out a diamond eternity band that I've had my eye at Argyle for about two years and with the high price of gold, I got the new ring in trade plus cash too! I went back again today, after he took out all the diamonds, and he spent nearly an hour with me to make 2 perfectly matching stacking diamond eternity bands to go on either side of the ring that I purchased the day before. And even though he has a very active business to run, we sat and chatted for several more minutes about our daughters and similar circumstances. A very pleasant experience. I can't wait to get my new rings!
