We were invited to a party by dear friends and we were impressed. The buffet food was better than most restaurants with an incredible variety. The most important praise goes to the servers who made sure that there was no mess anywhere. They quietly took care of the little things, a dropped fork replacement, clearing used dishes, topping off water, etc. Those seem base line but happened swiftly without ever interrupting a conversation. Everything was perfect at the 80th birthday party we had at the Lanam club. The food was outstanding. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and all the sides were delicious. The Lanam Club "a hidden jewel". The club is the perfect setting for a bride looking for elegance. They typically get the 'wow' factor when brides visit; it's definitly not the factory wedding setting. The mansion is beautiful and has a lot of history. There is a dining room or enough room for a tent outside on the grounds. The tent is new and modern and over looks the landacaping and gardens. It's beautiful. They have gardens, stone work. Checked out this place for our wedding and wow, what a beautifully ornate and classy place equipped with a pool table room for the guys (shh, that's a secret), tv screens, a room just for the bride (which is a little small, but serves its purpose), and a huge bar! On top of that, you can choose to have the ceremony outside in 2 different gardens, and they have a tent as well which connects to the Lanam Club. They gave us a packet with very clear prices and naturally, you have to get your alcohol through them, but they're very reasonable. And they are extremely organized, which leads me to believe that they have a lot of weddings there. Unfortunately, for the budget bride, this place is definitely way too expensive. It is, however, very easy to find and I recommend that brides who can afford slightly more than the budget bride (25K and up), check this hidden gem out. read more

Went to a recent wedding at this old club. It still has all the beauty one could ask for. This was an outdoor ceremony which was on a nearly perfect spring day. Decor is beautiful inside and out with plenty of off-street parking on a serene rural setting near downtown Andover. The bar area was nice, plenty of seating to welcome people and drinks are made strong like they should be. I enjoyed the salmon or the cucumber and goat cheese appetizers the best. I thought the food and desserts were excellent....I had the steak with potatoes and asparagus. The list of desserts is too long for me to list, I tried a little of everything. I went to a wedding last night at the Lanam Club and I've been describing it to people as "picture perfect." Part of it had to do with the great weather, the beautiful couple, and the great company. But I think part of what created a terrific wedding atmosphere was the Lanam Club. I was really impressed with the setting, the food, the service, etc. The ceremony was held outside, then we went inside for the cocktail hour, then back outside under a tent for dinner, then back inside for dancing. It may sound like a lot of shuffling around but you don't even really notice and it makes it more fun. I drove in from Boston and it took just over 30 min, but Andover is closer than it sounds. Some of the guests did stay at local hotels so that's an option if you have lots of out of town guests. If/when I get married, I'd definitely consider it for myself! read more

I could not be more thrilled with how everything went with our wedding at the Lanam Club in August. From the start I was hoping for a romantic, elegant evening, and the Lanam club was perfect. We got married in the picturesque Victorian garden in the back of the house, which was outfitted with beautiful flowers from Martin's flowers in Metheun. The guest are still raving about how delicious the food was, and how the service was impeccable from beginning to end. The Lanam club is a fabulous and beautiful venue, but I think the most important reason the event was so lovely was because of the general manager, Tim Hart. Tim has such a calming personality, I felt so comfortable knowing he was at the helm, and that no detail would be overlooked. I truly cannot think of anything that I would change about the day. My wife and I recently had our wedding at the club and I am still in awe at how great it was. The place and staff are amazing! Tim , the general manager, epitomizes class. Since the very beginning, everyone was very welcoming , charming and attentive. The staff was able to accommodate three options for our wedding ceremony. Even up until the wedding day as we were unsure of the weather. We were allowed to pick the best option right before the ceremony! The decor and historic allure should also be mentioned. The inside has unbelievable woodwork and beautiful fireplaces throughout. Our pictures look great! The food was first class as well and exceeded our high expectations. I recently visited the Lanam Club while on a business trip. I had heard quite a bit about it but didn't completely know what to expect. When arriving we were walked to our private room. The wait staff was super friendly throughout the evening and very quick to refil our water or re-order drinks. We ordered the shrimp cocktail appetizer. It was absolutely delicious. I went with the filet mignon dinner. This was well seasoned and cook to perfection. Our group (about 15) had a fantastic time. The LANAM Club occupies what was once Orlando Cottage, the home of textile baron William M. Wood built for his son in 1916. Sitting on absolutely beautiful grounds, it is both elegant and reserved. Walking through the LANAM Club truly gives one the sense of stepping back in time. And the dining experience doesn't disappoint. The service was extraordinary as was the cuisine. I ordered Veal Scaloppini Fortina which was excellent. My dinner companions both ordered the Baked Haddock, one of the evening specials. They both raved about how well it was prepared. I cannot compliment either the Chef nor our gracious waitress, Sue, highly enough. They made us feel as though we were the only people in this elegant, grand manor. The Lanam Club exceeded all of my expectations! The staff is truly professional! Geoff the general manager was great to work with and doubled as our event planner, with no added cost. I was a little crazy and drew some diagrams for how I wanted tables setup etc and he handled it all so nicely. Everything went flawlessly. The best part of the Lanam Club is we got there at 8:00am and left at Midnight so we truly had the entire day there. We even brought our decor and my dress the night before so I didn't need to think about it on my wedding day. I will keep this review short and sweet, because I can see that the Lanam Club already has a great reputation! I had my wedding there just this past Saturday, and I am still in awe of the place. Tim, the general manager, is a phenomenal guy to work with. He was always calm, cool, and collected, very informative, helpful, and communicative. He was flexible about all our details - from the music (which we planned ourselves and played from a computer), to getting the Bruins game on the TV during the Stanley Cup, to ensuring that there was scotch available for my dad! The waitstaff are excellent - friendly and quick, without being oppressive. The FOOD. I can't tell you how great the food is. We had the duck breast and the sirloin steak, and all the guests were raving about how delicious it was. I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. What an amazing experience! We got married at the Lanam Club on 10/9/21 and had the most wonderful day. From beginning to end, the staff at the Lanam Club helped us put together our vision of a wedding and ultimately delivered everything we expected. We had a smaller sized wedding (110 ppl) and it was perfectly intimate for this venue. The courtyard for the ceremony was the perfect size, interior bar and dining area were great for cocktail hour and late night dancing, and the outside tent for dinner created an awesome ambiance. The food is amazing, highly recommend the filet mignon, along with many of their passed hour 'devours. Joanna was awesome to us and helped is with everything along the way. She was available whenever we needed her and not only provided feedback on our preferences, but also gave us ideas and inspiration for our night. I highly recommend the Lanam Club for your wedding. When we arrived the staff told us we didn't have an appointment, though we had arranged it by email. even so, they quickly told us the date we mentioned in the email was already booked. Tim and the Lanam staff were more than I could have hoped for in a reception venue. My brother and his wife also had their reception at Lanam, and were also impressed. From the start, Tim was open to all our silly ideas - we even hung some custom artwork on the walls! The Club was the perfect fit for our antique-style wedding - dark wood and fireplaces, and the most beautiful bar. We had access to the venue the entire day, and when we arrived earlier than we had planned, Tim made sure we were comfortable and outfitted with champagne. When we told Tim we were bringing flowers from the ceremony, he promised to fit them in wherever they could. When the dance floor got too warm, Tim turned off the fireplaces. When a guest at the last minute told me she was vegan, Tim promised they would make her a special entree. we held my daughter's wedding at The Lanam Club recently and it was magnificent! Tim is extremely well organized and accommodating. Everything was laid out and easy to understand, There were no hidden charges and the prices were fair. He made us feel like we were at home. The staff was wonderful, pleasant and efficient. When the appetizers came out guests were raving about how good they were and all I could say was "wait for the main course". Everything was so delicious and the wedding went off without a hitch. The ambiance in the dining room is amazing and the mansion is just beautiful. So many people asked us how we found this place. If I could give more stars I would! I partially forgot to post about our wedding here and then again, I feel like its the best kept secret wedding spot north of Boston..I have to say its been a year and people still comment on what a gorgeous venue we had. It truly made our Oct wedding spectacular. And... THE FOOD! The food was out of this world. We had the filet for our guests and it rivaled any NY steakhouse. Not to mention Tim was an excellent coordinator. I really didn't want to have to deal with stress of a coordinator calling me every two seconds or making me panic. Perfect wedding! My second Lanam Club wedding reception was this weekend. My son's reception was three years ago and my daughter loved it so much she wanted hers here too. It was wonderful! The venue is beautiful and perfectly maintained. The staff is efficient but so unintrusive. The Manager was at our beck and call from noon to midnight and we did all our dressing and photos before the service at the Club. The food and drink service was excellent. I had my wedding at the Lanam Club last fall and it was beautiful. The venue is stunning, at my personal request the gardens were replanted and cleaned up, the food was fabulous. Having the entire venue to yourself and being able to have your guest roam around at their leisure was so nice. They had a change in management right before our big day, which lead to some confusion, but in the end everything was just as I wanted it. My quests are still raving almost a year later. The wait staff was fabulous and friendly. We had our ceremony in the side garden because we had too many for the smaller back garden. We ended up with around 135 guest and it was a perfect fit in the tent for dinner. read more
