I came here looking for their halo halo. This cafe is on Alona beach. Downstairs is a small store…read morewhere you can buy goodies. Upstairs is an open seating area that overlooks the beach. Service was ok and the halo halos came quickly. You had a chiice of what ice creams you wanted, so I chose durian and mango, and the bf asked for ube and dragonfruit. The halo halos had fresh cut fruit as their goodies, not the typical candies and gellies you would expect. This disappointed me at first, but I appreciate the healthiness of if. We got up and left quickly after we finished, as one group of people was starting to get rowdy.

We came for dinner with a big group and the food was delicious. We ordered different dishes but I…read morewould say my favorite was their bistek. The restaurant seemed to have its own park where kids can play. It's pretty dark at night though and I think requires more lighting as it can be a safety hazard. They have a big sign at the entrance of the driveway but it wasn't lit up so it was hard to find at nighttime. My biggest turn off would have to be the band...not that they're terrible but rather that they were too loud and their sound system was awful. I'm glad we were seated inside and weren't subjected to ear piercing sounds but I think it really made the experience less enjoyable.

I stumbled across this place from a google search on places that have good Kare Kare. I wasn't…read moreexpecting such a cute set up. I was thinking it would be a small family owned restaurant. Instead it was a very well polished establishment. There was only a large family and myself at the restaurant so the service was very fast. Even when the waiter initially said the food would take 20 minutes, I received my order in 5-10 minutes. The Kare Kare was amazing I must add! The prices were very fair too. The Kare Kare with a side of rice was about $7 USD. They even accept credit card! The only downfall was no WiFi but you will survive.

The food here is good, but definitely charging tourist prices. I ordered coco curry prawns, which…read morewere delicious. The prawns were fresh, and large. The only thing I disliked was I had to peel them and the head was still attached. Most seafood eaters do not care, but I like my shrimp already headless and peeled. This made it super messy because of the sauce, but they had a clean bathroom I was able to wash my hands in. This dish also did not include rice for some reason. The bf ordered honey pork ribs, which were also very tasty. His order came with fries, wedges, and a salad. A very good dinner choice for him along with some San Miguel. For me, a mango pineapple shake was sufficient, and very good. This restaurant is open and exposed to the outside. In the course of the meal 2 big fat flies kept bothering us so we were constantly swatting away. A cat and a dog also passed by inside. If you are not into that you probably should avoid. There is no AC here but some fans only if you're lucky enough to sit by it. To get an idea of the price, the prawns, ribs with sides, 2 beers and a shake were about 1600-1700 pesos. Pretty steep but at least the food lived up to the price.
