This place was suprisingly tasty. Enjoyed all the dimsum dishes that we ordered and staff was super nice.

I was really sour about The Halal Guys opening first in the Philippines before LA so when I heard the same story with Tim Ho Wan, it came as no surprise to me anymore. In a way I lucked out as I was able to finally try the famed BAKED BBQ PORK BUNS on my last trip to Cebu without having to wait in agony for their doors to open at Diamond Jamboree Plaza, Irvine. Served hot and fresh, a tip is to break it apart first to let the steam come out and cool down a bit before touching your lips. The bread itself is glorious with high marks on texture and taste while the bbq pork was sweet, savory, and just delicious. For this alone, now I understand why the Hong Kong location has been awarded a Michelin star; the cheapest restaurant yet. Featuring mainly dim sum dishes, I pleasantly devoured their siumai, vermicelli roll with shrimp, pan fried radish cake, spare ribs rice, wasabi prawn dumpling, and dumpling in spicy sauce. I wouldn't say they're the best I've had as most are comparable to what I can get from Chinese restaurants here, some even better. So long as you're here for those buns, you won't be disappointed. True story.

Tim Ho Wan (THW) is located in different malls in the Philippines. This particular location was in a mall in Cebu. THW is based out of Hong Kong and is a Michelin rated restaurant. Anyhow my buddy had eaten at THW and recommended it for lunch. Tim Ho Wan specializes in dim sum. We ordered * Baked BBQ Pork Buns (3 Pieces) / 酥皮焗叉 (top selling item) * Steamed Dumplings w/Shrimp and Chives / 鮮蝦韮菜餃 (Awesome) * Steamed Bean Curd W/Meat & Vegetable 美味炆鮮竹卷 (these were truly F-in amazing) * Steamed Pork Dumplings W/Shrimp (Siu Mai) 鮮蝦燒賣皇 (Very good) * Congee W/Pork & Preserved Egg 金銀蛋瘦肉粥

This restaurant is among the 50 franchise locations in 12 countries.that earned a Michelin star for its baked buns with barbecue pork. I wasn't even aware it earned a Michelin star All I know is that the server mentioned a lot of items in the menu that were not available. They did not even have chicken feet! Usually when my family go to a dimsum restaurant we go all out, trying to sample almost everything on the menu. Not here. Except for my favorite sticky rice on wrapped in lotus leaves, the serving of which was larger than all of the dimsum place I've been to , my choices were limited to only two other available items as most of the items had shrimp which I am allergic to. The rest of the servings were small. I did some research about the place and found out that it is famous for being the cheapest Michelin star restaurant. Educate me about Michelin star. Is it awarded because of one popular and let's say extremely good baked bun? The place was nice, clean and classy, and the service was great, and yes the prices were very reasonable. But my disappointment in lack of availability of selections in their menu makes me disagree.with the award. Or are they just resting on their Michelin accolades and stopped trying?

Gimmie sum dim sum! The famed Tim Ho Wan has finally arrived in cebu. Today is the first day it opens so there was definitely a line. For those of you not familiar with their reputation, their base restaurant in Hong Kong has earned a michelin star. There are many locations in manila, but this is the first one on cenu. Their signature dishes are the baked pork buns amd vermicilli dishes. I personally gonwith thr baked pork buns and the standard dim sim dishes of siomai (pork dumpling) and hakaw(shrimp dumpling) As a dim sum foodie, my expectations were high so, for me the food was good but it didnt wow me

Wanderlog ranks this restaurant as #2 on its list of best Chinese food in Cebu City, and so does…read morerestaurant guru. After church my brothers and I decided to try the place that my friends speak highly of, to check it out and see if it lives up to it's hype. True enough there is authenticity in its Chinese cuisine, dishes that has rich and diversified but harmonious color, aromatic flavor, and excellent taste. I came for their dimsum, The choices are limited but I must say, by far, it's the best dimsum I ever had in Cebu City. I'm done eating dimsum at the mall. I also tried the other dishes my brothers ordered, and I say this place has the best Chinese food I ever had in Cebu City, The place was packed but we got there just 5 minutes before all tables were taken. The servers were quite efficient, patient and friendly. The place was kinda noisy during lunch time. Happy diners maybe?

One of the most authentic chinese restaurants ive tried thanks to my cousin who brought us here 2…read moreyears ago. Until today, taste of their food is still very good. We always get the shrimp dumplings and the soup dumplings. Dip them in chili sauce and wow! Delicious! The seafood is always fresh. They have live fish, lobster, and even eel that you can pick from outside. May not be a good idea for animal lovers though or for anyone not into that sort of thing, i mean seeing that their meal was alive just a few minutes ago. But anyway, their food is really flavorful. And from what i hear, chefs are really from places such as hongkong etc and so the taste they put into their food is really authentic chinese. I got to try the spinach soup today too and it was surprisingly really good! They added egg, tofu and shrimp so it tasted more like a healthy egg drop! I loved it! Gotta check this place out if you havent yet.
