When I told my friends I was having lunch at Tin Gow, they told me that I should go somewhere else…read more The place was expensive and the food was not so good. So I came with some prejudices when my cousin invited us for her birthday lunch. It was an 11 course meal which she customized and ordered in advance for three tables. First came the dried scallop soup with vegetable green which looked plain and simple, but it surprisingly impressed my taste buds. That first impression got me excited for the dishes that were to follow: Shrimp salad, crispy roasted chicken, steamed Lapulapu fish, Sweet and sour pork, Dim sum sampler platter, braised beef, the birthday pancit, Stir fried green beans, and finally fried rice with fried anchovies. For dessert, it was Japanese fried eggroll with cream cheese and seaweed, and sesame balls. Even I was amazed by my appetite at this table. I loved every single dish. Well prepared, delicious, properly textured and well presented. I was looking forward to their Peking duck which was not available because of the pandemic. I learned they import their Peking duck from Hongkong. I guess that will be a good reason to go back. I will definitely proclaim Tin Gow as one of the best, if not the best Chinese restaurant in Cebu. I believe good restaurant food is knowing what to order and what you're ordering. Prior visits aid in making that decision. Knowing the chef and talking to them also helps. This was definitely a gastronomically memorable dining experience.

This place considered higher end chinese restaurant. Food and service pretty good. We went with…read moresome dim sum dishes, siomai, spicy tofu, minces meat with eggplant, and a squid dish. The tofu dish had a great smooth texture and i was told that they make their own.

I had dim sum for the first time at Hai Shin Lou, located on the ground floor lobby of Marco Polo…read more I'm from Vancouver, Canada, where Chinese food is exceptional, and I must say this restaurant is very comparable. All the steamed dumplings were cooked perfectly--not overcooked or spongy like at some other places. They were steamed just right, with the meat remaining moist and juicy. All the other dishes were also well-prepared! The service was good, especially since there were only a few tables occupied when we visited. There are plenty of tables inside, so seating is not an issue for large or small parties. I think this restaurant leans towards the high end in terms of cost, but overall, it's a great place to satisfy your dim sum cravings.

We had a good experience here!…read more We were lured in by signs of a "Dim Sum Bonanza" with all you could eat dim sum. We came in on a Friday morning, and the place was practically empty except for one table with a group of older woman who I swear could have been pulled from Crazy Rich Asians. They offer you a piece of paper with their dim sum offerings, and you check which ones you'd like. They make each batch fresh for you rather than rolling in things on a cart (which makes sense considering the traffic). We were disappointed they didn't have more options, but the options they did have were all delicious and fresh. The price was also very reasonable considering it was all you could eat dim sum. Honestly, the hotel Marco Polo breakfast buffet was overpriced in comparison. Not only was this a cheaper meal for two, but after trying both establishments, this restaurant's quality of food was vastly superior. We wish we had just gotten all you can eat dim sum for brunch both days. The place was clean. The food was great. The service was friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend eating here, especially if you're staying at Marco Polo.

A function area with a small elevated platform is available in the upper level as well as dividers to partition off different dining groups into their own private spaces. We loved everything that we ordered: hand-made boiled dumpling, seafood seven color soup, and sizzling pepper beef, just to list of a few. Service was fast from the time of ordering to the time the food was served. We did not need to wait long before starting to eat. The only miss was that one of our orders which is the Xiamen fried oyster with egg came a lot later than the others. We were almost finished with our food when the oyster was served. Some of the other dishes were already finished and there was not a lot of rice left.

The come in appetizing presentations, generous servings that are absolutely delicious. Very reasonable pricing. Fast service. We ordered a lot, and when it came almost simultaneously, we wondered if we can finish it but we devoured it all. Servers look jovial, they must love their job! They are very friendly and very attentive. A must visit!
