It's a "moderne Filipino" place with a lot of tradition items with a bit of added flair. I stopped by with a party of five. We had a inihaw sampler platter, mussels, scallops, bangoong rice, pomelo salad, leche flan, cassava cake and crispy flan. We also tried mango, watermelon and green mango shakes. I saw lechon on the menu from a whole piglet down to 1/6 portion. I didn't try it because no one else seemed interested.
No major complaints on the food, but I will say that the pusit on the inihaw platter did taste like the grill needed cleaning, but it was tender for squid. The pieces of chicken were tiny, I've had wings that were meatier than the thigh I had. Did they breed special hobbit sized chickens? The bangoong rice was popular so we got 2nd order for the table. The shellfish were nice. The desserts were good, no complaints there.
There was a misstep when we ordered a second round of mussels and got more expensive scallops instead. Since my wife asked in Tagalog I'm not sure how it was misunderstood. We ended up taking the scallops to go, because the servers must pay for incorrect orders and P285 would be a large chunk of what they might expect to make and my wife felt bad for her. That bit aside the service was very good.
I think everyone enjoyed it so I'm not going to quibble much about a few small issues. read more
