This place has been on my bucket list for sometime. We finally made it. It's in the boonies docks. The place is a small plantation. They have a hall for parties and weddings. Another location for something else and then the winery. The owner was very warmful. He showed us around. Mentioned how at first it was just a hobby. The place reminds you something from the midieval times. The wine that I tried was really good. We purchased a few bottles. The Syrah was my favorite. It had a different taste to it. The Vidal was another one of my favs. We will be back again. Worth the 2 hour drive.

What a pleasant surprise! With a very beautiful setting and such friendly people. The wine was good - we enjoyed ourselves very much.

I would give no stars if possible. Barely acknowledged my group. Never came back to us to assist us. I will never go back.

We went here on a Monday midafternoon when we visited Parkersburg, WV on vacation. Our first…read moreimpression was that this place would be stereotypical WV: there was a gravel driveway, a no-frills farmhouse and pole barn with vinyl siding, and a dog barked at us from the kitchen as we pulled up. I figured at least we'd get a good story out of it. But when we got in, we were greeted by Craig and Candie who are the "mom and pop" of this mom and pop winery! Craig led us through the tasting of about 7 wines, and he shared historical information about WV wine country, grape lineage and history, the politics of wineries in WV, and most importantly what makes a "perfect wine". Suffice it to say we learned A LOT! And the wine was great too! We walked away with 6 bottles (they can't ship), and we plan to go back next time we're in town!

We had charcuterie for 2. We were delighted to have gluten free options. The owners waited on us…read moreand they were patient and attentive. They helped us put together great flights, with 12 samples. If you are interested in wine at all, the owner can school you on everything you would ever want to know. Incidentally, they do not use additives in their wine. There were many European-style options. I shy away from tastings in Ohio because I am overwhelmed by the sweetness of the wine, but this is an entirely different experience. In addition, the beautiful building was created with wood from their land with their sawmill. This will be on our list of places to take company from now on. It's only 17 minutes from Marietta, with a quick turn off the interstate.

This place is such a terrific place to go to. It has an amazing story which I recommend reading on…read morethe website. Steve is the father that started making wine as a hobby in 1984, fast forward to 2017 it became a reality, opened in 2020 and the pandemic happened. But now the winery is opened 5 days per week for wine tasting and carry out. The daughter Roberta runs it and said they're turning the side deck into a location you can enjoy doing wine flights, having a glass of wine etc; Roberta has the right southern charm to run the business. She did a wonderful job telling us about the different wines, what was available for tasting. Everything is Italian theme. Even the sweet wines. She said at first her dad only made dry wines. She told him if you want to sell the wine, you must make sweet wine. She said he doesn't when in the barrel due to a bad experience with oxidation. She said he uses staves to oak in steel, which is easier than having to worry about topping off constantly like myself :) she said he typically ages the wine for 4 years. Such patience. She said they are adding new wines every 2 months. That's spectacular to be able to do that. Overall, enjoyed the winery. Everything we had was wonderful. One good thing is that we got a card that every so many wines you purchase, you can obtain a free one after so long. We will be back. Cool vibe. Roberta does an amazing job.
