Please, read all the 1-star reviews on this company before moving forward. We believed we hit the…read morejackpot with all the 5 star reviews when hiring Vern's Plumbing. In all of our years of being a homeowner, we have never delt with anything compared to the situation Vern's Plumbing has delt us. Here's the story... On 4/30 we called Vern's Plumbing to install a new 3 way stop and single straight stop valve for our kitchen sink and dishwasher. We paid $253.17 to have this work done. So far, so good. No complaints here. A couple days after this install, we noticed our hot water pressure from the kitchen sink was virtually nothing. The water was coming out about as wide as the size of your pinky finger while on full blast. My wife and I did not have a water pressure issue prior to Vern's Plumbing coming to our house otherwise we would have had them look at this issue while in our home. The regular water pressure while on cold is just fine so not a dire emergency. There is only no water pressure when the water is put on 'hot'. We called Vern's Plumbing to let them know about our issue which was not an issue prior to their plumber touching our plumbing. The lady service manager at Vern's Plumbing said "no problem, we'll send someone over to check this out by the end of the week. On 5/15, who we believe is the owners, son came over and inspected the sink issue with my wife while I was out on business. My wife rang my phone all afternoon to tell me about the situation which I was unable to answer. When my wife and I finally talked, she said that Vern's Plumbing had their hands in the air and was removing themselves from the situation stating this was not caused by them. My wife mentioned that this was not a problem until Vern's Plumbing touched our plumbing otherwise, we would have had them look at this situation as well. Again, the plumber in our house put his hands in the air and said, "this is not my fault'. The plumber then proceeded to tell my wife to file a claim with Delta the faucet manufacturer and 'TO NOT MENTION THAT A PLUMBER HAD TOUCHED ANY PLUMBING OR THE FAUCET and that if we did, Delta might not honor their warranty. This is a flat out lie. Vern's Plumbing caused this issue to our faucet from their plumbing/work. This was not an issue prior to Vern's Plumbing touching our plumbing. If it was a prior issue, we would have had the plumber address this while in our home. My wife and I honor integrity more than anything and by hearing this come from who we believe is the 'owners' son', this was very disappointing to hear. I received a call at 9:40am from the lady service manager on Friday, 5/16. The conversation was cordial as I could 'hear her kids screaming in the background' figuring she made this phone call from her residence. I finally asked the service manager if she was aware of the situation at my home which she replied' yes, I am'. I told the service manager things inadvertently happen and that we are sure that the plumber broke our faucet on accident due to faulty plumbing. I made mention once again that this was not a problem prior to their arrival. The service manager, like the plumber, removed herself and Vern's Plumbing from the situation as well by throwing her hands up at the situation stating 'this is not our fault and that this was likely due to old fixtures'. We made mention once again this was not a problem until their plumber touched our plumbing. Again, Vern's Plumbing put their hands in the air and removed themselves from the situation. The Service Manager, like the plumber, told us to file a claim with the faucet manufacturer but like the plumber in our home said, not to mention that a plumber had been in the home while filing the claim. We then realized this was not a good situation. Being asked to lie on any business's behalf goes against everything we stand for as a family. I first said 'ok' but then after talking with my wife about this situation, we 100% decided we would not 'lie'. Once it was determined that neither one of us was going to see eye-to-eye on who caused this situation, we finally made Vern's Plumbing an ultimatum. My wife and I will get the new faucet at no charge to Vern's Plumbing, all we ask is 'for Vern's Plumbing to install the new faucet at no charge'. That's it. I did not demand Vern's Plumbing get me a new faucet. I did not yell. I did not scream. All I asked Vern's Plumbing to do was to make things right. We now have to buy a new Faucet which was brand new and installed in 2022. Then, once the faucet is received, we must pay a plumber to install this new faucet. This is going to cost us several hundred dollars and all of this due to Vern's Plumbing making an inadvertent mistake. I feel like our request is fair since Vern's Plumbing did not want to make the situation right. Update: Our credit card company sided with us. We were given a full refund. Stay away and spread the word. Terrible

Easy. Max cost for a job like this would be $500, tops. Small towns, $300 or less. I was told the job needed to charge 4hrs minimum, which isn't uncommon for a small job. The parts were estimated high at $150 and the permit was $100. Then I was told there might need to be drywall work, so they quoted me worst case unnecessarily with the possibility of it being $300 less if that wasn't the case. Quote: $2153. Or around $1800 if it were less complicated. I don't know what plumber charges $400/hr for an apprentice or journeyman level job, but this was crazy. $200/hr would have been crazy and $1000+ cheaper. I ended up doing the job myself for $60 in material with a basic pipe wrench, sealant and 2hrs of my time including a leak check. I don't know if this job was too small for them or if they saw the house/neighborhood and thought they could charge more. Just be sure to get more quotes if you're not familiar with what actually needs to be done and don't be afraid to walk away. They were responsive and Chris was friendly, but that doesn't justify charging 4x a reasonable price.

If you want competency, integrity, and fair prices, Toney "The Plumberman" is the best in the biz…read more Not only will he fix your issue and patiently explain what caused it, he will give you tips on not only keeping it in good condition but inexpensive things you can buy off Amazon to help do so, eg essentially cutting into his own future profit (he'll even point out longevity tips on stuff he didn't fix himself). Most repair professionals won't do that- they'll try to upsell you or nickel and dime everything (or lie by omission). Toney sincerely loves and takes pride in what he does, and it shows. It's why I recommend him for big jobs (he ran a whole new system of hose spigots for filling troughs off a well at the boarding facility where I keep my horse) or small (a sink problem, a new garbage disposal, and a tub clog at my house).

It is a world of difference. I've worked with three different plumbers from Plumberman, and every one of them has remained completely unfazed during emergency situations. When we had a major issue, Plumberman himself calmly shut down the system, made sure my family and I were safe, checked on my property, and then carefully explained all of my options so I could choose the repair that made the most sense for us. What really opened my eyes was comparing their honesty to some of the larger companies we had dealt with in the past. We were quoted outrageous prices and pressured into replacing things that didn't actually need to be replaced. With Plumberman, I never felt pressured. They explained what was necessary, what could wait, and what options were available. I felt like I received incredible value--not only in the quality of the workmanship, but also in the fair pricing and the care that went into every job performed in my home. As a mother of two boys, plumbing problems seem inevitable, but every time someone from Plumberman has come to our home, they have made us and our house feel safe. Their advice has helped us prevent future problems, from burst pipes and clogged toilets to maintaining our water filtration system. They don't just fix issues--they educate homeowners and help you avoid bigger headaches down the road. What stands out most is the professionalism and confidence that comes from experience. You can tell these are highly skilled plumbers who take pride in their work and genuinely care about their customers. Plumberman is truly "The Last Plumber You'll Ever Need!" Thank you to the entire team for always taking such great care of our family and our home. We wouldn't trust anyone else!

Big hype on selling us a water rite water softener that was supposed to also supposed to do the job of an acid neutralizer by correcting the PH levels. Were assured we did not need an acid neutralizer with this water softener and that it would be evident because we would no longer see blue and discoloration in our sinks, showers and tubs. Never happened. In fact, the tank blew out within the warranty period. Screaming Eagle refused to honor the warranty even though we had made consistent calls for help when the system was not working properly, requesting them to check the settings and find out why it was requiring several bags of salt per month. Promised several times they would come out to the house but never showed. When the system finally blew we were told it was because the salt tank was empty when they arrived. It was several days afterwards and why would we add salt to a broken system? We also reminded them about our previous messages and calls regarding the system requiring excessive salt, but they didn't recall. Asked about the promised warranty and were told we had to call the manufacturer. Called the manufacturer who agreed to replace the tank with confirmation from Screaming Eagle, but that never happened and the warranty expired soon after. We spent $7000 on this system because we have two disabled and medically complex children, one on a feeding tube, and both in wheelchairs, and we wanted their drinking water to be safe. We had to mostly buy bottled water anyway, even when the system was working because of the overabundance of salt in the water. We also had to pay plumbers twice to dislodge the salt from our faucets twice, and our pipes were getting pinholes and leaking due to acidic water. Their response was "Don't recall that you requested an acid neutralizer." Really? Screaming Eagle did not contact the manufacturer to advocate for us and offered no further assistance. The warranty expired and we have a blown water softener sitting in our basement with no way to remove it as we are in our 70s and disabled.
