It's a nice pub and establishment. When you enter there's a bar and some cozy indoor seating with natural light. Nothing fancy. There's also a wonderful outdoor patio, which is where we sat. There's two floors to it and most of the seating is covered. The service by workers were all friendly and nice. We ordered with them then paid at the bar. We shared Duck and Orange Pate. It was thick, tasty, and complex but well balanced. I had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich--the mixed leaves were tasty, the chicken crispy, and honestly it was a filling sandwich. I would say I'd like more in between the bread but it did fill me up. You've got plenty of pub options in Burford, but we quite enjoyed our time at The Angel. Burford is considered to be the gateway to the cot waltz. The cot walls has an old area that has changed for a little over the hundreds of years and has amazing architecture and houses and farms. It's surrounded by rolling Hills and Dells and little rivers running through it. Burford is considered the gateway to the cot walls because it showcases several styles of very old architecture. that's still an excellent condition. If you have questions about what to do while you're there go to the Tolsey house. But I have to say there is no question that when I got there And it was lunchtime that I selected the angel at Burford to eat the fine food that they serve there. Our room was very nice and comfortable, in the old converted stables. Overall, the food was great, the only two disappointments being no fried bread at breakfast, which we were told they had some time ago stopped serving, a small but definite negative, and the burger was just ok, a bit dry and bland. They had excellent cask ales, including a local one. Service was very good but mixed, one person very friendly and helpful, another being a bit cold and curt. It retains some nice old character but has lost some as well. The conservatory-like addition in the back, though nice, does somewhat clash with the old parts and our room was comfortable but a bit bland. Apparently, it is linked to the local and very colourful and controversial Mitford family, who lived in the area. The parents and some of the several sisters were ardent fascists and Nazi sympathisers in WWII, others had different views. Apparently, one owned the place. This is very nice and I would both stay and eat here again based on our experience, but it was not as good as other places we experienced. If it had been just a ltitle better on the points mentioned, I'd probably give it a 5, but as it was, it's closer to a 4.

The pub is very full we so may be up late. There is a continental breakfast at 0800. The room has so much charm. Very old English. Parking is non existent. All the inns on the street have the same issue. We wound up in a alley alley nearby. No parking on streets with double yellow lines on edge. Nor in front of any gates. Or any loading zones at night. Does complicate the search. That said, we found parking , the bed is fine, and breakfast tomorrow included. It is more quiet now. Update The bed was fine, bit chilly but ok.
