It used to be a distillery where I came frequently to…read morerelax and enjoy a somewhat sophisticated atmosphere with friends but lately it has gone downhill. I recently joined a large group of colleagues for an end of the year celebration and we talked to the owner ahead of time to setup the event. We put in a request for a specific bar tender to facilitate the event as we have previously had several rude and dissatisfying encounters with a certain bartender who claims to be the bar manager and we wanted to avoid a bad experience. We initially considered going somewhere else to avoid this bartender but ultimately decided to give Sugar field another chance as we have held events here in the past and the owner is usually very accommodating, but that was a mistake. The bar manager worked our event and was extremely rude. She dressed provocatively as she typically does. She even wears open toe sandals and shorts with her butt hanging out. She made several drink wrong and was argumentative when asking her to remake the drinks. She stated, "how can they be wrong if I'm the only one who creates drinks here." She over charged my coworkers, she made ugly faces at us, and had a very unpleasant attitude the entire time. I even heard her tell a customer, "shut the fuck up" unwarranted and unprovoked. This is something I have witnessed during other visits along with bad mouthing other frequent customers and employees including the owners. Sadly, she seems to be there all the time now. The quality of experience has dwindled and is not worth the cost.

The atmosphere was very relaxing and welcoming. Several customers brought their pets and the bartender even provided water for the animals. A great place to relax and unwind. Seating was available both inside as well as on the outdoor patio. Parking was available and attached to the building. Area was very safe and comfortable. The customers were very polite as well. Highly recommend.

So I was a little thrown off at first because of a few things that I'm not used to seeing at any other festivals in Louisiana. For starters it wasn't outside. In fact it was inside a building that reminded me of my high school gym. Another thing that threw me off was not seeing much to eat. C'mon folks this is Louisiana right? Home of the best food in the world. The food choices consisted of only jambalaya, BBQ, burgers, funnel cakes, nachos, and fries. The booze selection wasn't too bad as it was on par with other fests.....plentiful beer and daiquiris. But what will keep me coming back to this fest for yrs to come is that all the funds go to cystic fibrosis research. I love anything to do with helping others. I also had a blast hanging out with some of the most warm-hearted and jovial people I have ever met. Louisiana knows how to party!!! Was this fest a little redneck? Definitely. It is in Gonzales right?!! Are you going to come to the Swamp Pop Music Fest for the food? Probably not Will everyone there be dancing? You betcha Will you have a good time? HELL YEAH So what exactly is Swamp Pop Music? I'm still not sure after listening to over 12 hrs of music at this fest but damn it was a crazy fun little festival.

Such talent our kids have! The instructors are first class, professional, stern, but also very rewarding when the kids do a good job. Unfortunately, my daughter just didn't want to continue on in dance, but had it been her cup of tea I would have definitely let her learn at Center Stage. I was so glad I found a place convenient to my home in Prairieville, that was monetarily feasible (you pay an enrollment fee that I believe was $50/I could be mistaken by that. A monthly $45/class and $150/costume), that also churned out so much talent! I would and do recommend Center Stage to anyone interested in sending their child to dance/musical theater, you'll be amazed at how they are able to dance and sing and entertain! The showcases are loooooong and that's even with them splitting all the classes into 2 showcases!! But it's worth it if you're child has talent and is interested!!

If she ever leaves, I'm not sure I will keep my kids there. Unfortunately, the cost is outrageous. It cost just as much to send your kid here than it does to send your kid to a private school. I would not advise going here if you live pay check to pay check or struggle paying bills. It's crazy some of the things they charge you for. All of that said, I would advise to check it out for yourself first, speak to some of the teachers and speak to other parents of students there before making a decision.

So I left because I had no desire to work with such an obstinate person. BTW, his price was $500 cheaper than my other quote.
