I have friends and family who have used Hill's Automotive for years. This is my first time. Last…read moreweek my battery was dead one morning and wouldn't start my car. I took it out and put it on a charger. After I put it back in the car started fine, but no matter what I tried struggled to get to even 10 - 15mph. I feared that I had somehow fried an engine computer and was dreading a massive repair bill. I managed to get the car to Hill's. They're always busy, so it took a few days before they could look at it. I was really plesantly surprised when they called and said that all they had to do was install a new battery and clean out the mass air flow sensor. The bill was well below $200 and I had prepared myself to have to pay around a $1000. It's running great now. This is the way capitalism is supposed to work: good service at fair prices and happy customers who feel they have been served and not screwed. I highly recommend Hill's Automotive for all your automotive service and repair needs.

Lights dimmed then died, the car struggled to keep running. I limped home on a wing and a prayer. This morning I started looking for a shop that would at least do a diagnostic right away so I could figure out my plans for going back to Virginia on Monday. After calling a few shops that wouldn't even let me have the car towed to them I found Hooligan Motorsports. A quick call with Rob and he said he could have a look at it as soon as I could get it there. We both suspected the Alternator and within 20 minutes of having the car dropped off Rob called to tell me that he could have it fixed up same day, and an hour or so after that he called again to say the car was ready to be picked up! On top of helping me out of my sudden problem right away, the cost of repair was surprisingly affordable. I'm truly fortunate to find this shop. Rob is very easy to work with. He was the miracle I needed today, and I have found the local shop where we will be taking our repair needs in the future.

My 2011 Toyota Sienna's check engine light was winking occasionally. My wife had Auto Zone hook it…read moreup to their reader when she was getting windshield wipers. They said the battery was looking a little puny, but not bad ... but the alternator must be shot. Want to buy one now? My wife is as smart as she is good looking (that is to say: very very), so she hired me to take it to a mechanic. Since we only own Toyotas, we don't HAVE a mechanic - the cars just don't need 'em. But there's 150k miles on the van. Thinking we need to find a good shop for future use that isn't the competent-but-expensive dealer. So I looked at Yelp, talked to a few friends, polled a couple of other sites and decided on Larry's. Larry did some sleuthing and decided that my battery isn't quite puny, yet not quite new, either - but not time for a new one. And the alternator is FINE. Don't get me wrong - AZ is great in its place, but so glad we got a second, more learned opinion. Larry's shop cleaned the battery terminals and the throttle body and did a couple of other possibly-related things. He said all that stuff was related to remedying whatever was behind the check-engine code, but couldn't guarantee for absolute sure he'd solved the problem. He said the code isn't critical and probably not even useful for my trim level and engine, and his little tweaks likely solved the problem. But we should keep an eyebone peeled for future flashes. And since my visit, no more check engine light, even for a sec. Believe I win. $60. And peace of mind. And I got to play tug-o-war with his dog. Wins all around. Go there.
