I was training for my new position as Director of Financial Aid. Was put at a receptionists desk…read morewhile learning complex Federal Financial Aid information. There was no support from onsite staffing or management. An Amazon delivery person brought in a package on my 3rd day. I asked him exactly 3 questions... on the third question, he loudly stated that he would just put refused and combative on this delivery and walked out. He then lodged an online complaint. That complaint was apparently enough to terminate my Director's position without being able to defend myself, speak on my behalf, or comment. The site is dirty, most of the staff are clueless outside of their niche positions, and leadership is not supportive or caring. While in my tenure many students and staff complained about the lackluster and dying company, no support from leadership, and the absence of the owner.

Every student has been kind, professional and comforting. I appreciate the comfort level because getting laser removal for a tattoo can be uncomfortable. I've gone four times going on 5 now. I spent the first year of removal with another business and they left scarring. Northwest Tualatin has been a 10/10 experience compared to my last. Also, it is affordable compared to most places! Plus you're giving students experience:). I wish I had a b4 and after but imagine DARK BLACK LINES OF MY FINGER, after 4 treatments you can BARELY SEE IT.

I had the chance to do a single speech coaching session with Jamie prior to filming an educational…read morevideo. I sent Jamie a previous video that I had filmed, and he reviewed it before my session. We spent the hour going over very specific, helpful feedback he had for me (related to hand position, gesturing, speech volume, and marking up the written content that'd be on the teleprompter), and I was so amazed at how much better I felt about how I'd do in the filming after just one hour of working with him. The filming itself the following week went fantastic; I felt prepared, confident, and so much more natural in front of the camera than I had previously. I do hope to work with Jamie again - if I could get that much help after just one session, I can't imagine how much I'd improve after a series! Highly recommended.

From the owner: I draw on my years of public speaking & coaching experience to help people express their ideas…read moreclearly, persuasively & confidently, no matter the setting. I'm new to Yelp, but have hundreds of five-star reviews between Thumbtack & Google Business. Since my initial forays into public speaking (and coaching!) in high school, I've spent thousands of hours presenting--in sports radio broadcasting, competitive speech & debate, corporate settings, stand-up comedy and podcasting. Thanks to this range and depth of experience, I'm able to help both adults and kids tackle a wide array of speaking challenges. In addition to being deeply knowledgeable, extremely dedicated and highly responsive, I take time to learn about each student's unique speaking goals, struggles and strengths--and then thoughtfully design individualized lessons for each. My Expertise: - Business communication skill development (presentations, Q&A, or leading/participating in meetings). - Correcting an array of common speaking flaws (e.g., excessive speed, abundant fillers, or an unconfident delivery). - Helping shy kids (or adults) build conversation skills & become more comfortable speaking in class, work or social settings. - Helping high-achieving children take their communication skills to new heights and/or prepare for academic interviews. - Nerves management & building confidence. I would like to start off by saying.....if I could give this business a higher star rating, I…read morewould! I highly recommend 1st Learn to Drive for any teen who is learning to drive. The instructors are patient, professional, and truly dedicated to helping new drivers feel safe and confident on the road. They take the time to explain not just the rules of the road, but also priactical tips for real-world situations. Scheduling lessons was always easy, and the staff was always friendly and accommodating. The owner, Mike, really cares about the new teen driver. He even takes time out on evenings or weekends to answer my text messages. The online zoom classroom was amazing as well as the instructor teaching it! I think his name was Christian. It was twice a week and very well organized class setting. The zoom class provided a strong foundation of knowledge. My teen felt comfortable right away, and I noticed a big improvement in his driving skills. Thanks to 1st Learn to Drive, my teen passed the driving test on the first try! If you're looking for driving school that balances professionalism with a supportive learing environment, 1st Learn to Drive is an excellent choice. Thank you, Kim Ellingson

Please do not take this course…read more My online instructor, Benji, was totally fine. Same with my first driving instructor who was some sort of "substitute" I believe. But when I finally got my first experience with my actual instructor, who I believe the name of was Derrick, I was disgusted. He would have his phone out, looking at it with an earbud in, WHILE WE WERE DRIVING. This was completely unprofessional. You want to know what else was unprofessional? When he reached into my friends' pocket to take his phone out to turn off his alarm. He was also extremely rude to us and made us do many more small things that were not necessary. His way of teaching was terrible and completely unhelpful. And he also hated belts or something because every time he stood up his pants would fall almost all the way down. Which is probably why he put a mat under where he sat, that was absolutely disgusting and would shake it out. He shouted at my friend for no reason, he was terrible. I could go on. But you know what else? My friend's parents and mine both called the owner, Mike, to complain about this TWICE. And after Mike said he would give us a new instructor, me and my friend arrived the next day to find that untrue. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I was extremely anxious and in danger of crashing when driving with him, and temporarily had driving PTSD after my lessons. This man should be fired.
