The lack of communication regarding whatever delays they were experiencing was highly frustrating. I called multiple times in the almost 2 months it took to get the survey and property marked. It was a highly stressful situation and I needed access to a specific survey very quickly. The company only had paper records and understood the stress I was under. They went above and beyond and got me a copy of the survey I needed SO fast. I am so appreciative of how accommodating NY Land Surveyor was to my needs. Thank you Unita! Best, Erica

Frustrated, I decided to hire a surveyor in 2022, both to be perfectly sure where the boundaries of my property lay before putting up barriers, but also as a form of insurance against potential future disputes. I picked Perfect Point Land sight unseen and requested a quote. The quote I was given was reasonable, and we made an appointment. I don't remember what the actual quote was (this was some time ago), but it wasn't anything crazy for this type of job, so I agreed to it. PPL came out to the property right on schedule and early in the morning. When the survey was done, a stake was placed in the garden, and in concrete areas, an X highlighted with yellow spraypaint. I spoke with the members of the team and they explained where the boundaries of the property were in clear terms. But of course, I needed a hard copy, so I was emailed both a .pdf and given a nice print by snail mail, free of charge. (You can see copy in gallery, with information blanked out.) I don't know what the rates are in 2022 with inflation, but if you currently have issues with neighbors and such, it's worth every penny and it's one of those things you should have done anyway if you own property.

A few deciding factors were: professionalism in their communication and clarifying questions as well as responsiveness. Everyone we spoke to and met were such a pleasure to deal with; empathetic to out situation and willing to work with our very tight timelines. The staff were receptive to our many emails and phone calls as well (very patient)! The surveyors were early for our appointments and super thorough. I also just received a digital copy of the survey (hard copies will be mailed) and it looks better than some other surveys i've seen. They are also one of the few places that offer stakeout surveys as well as location surveys!

I called anyway to see if I could avoid paying a second time. Caulfield called me back and were very cordial and helpful. They sent a PDF of the survey immediately and sent another copy in the mail. He told me that the job was "enormous" and gave me an incorrect contact email which bounced back. I called once more to clarify the email address, and that's when he rudely told me once more about how "enormous" the job was again and went into a tirade on how stupid of a request it was. Obviously, we decided to go with another, more professional company in NJ who said they'd do it in a week, no fuss. Bottom line? Caulfield doesn't give a sh*t about new clients, are abrasive to women (AND I still haven't gotten a reply to my email) and are seriously unprofessional. Please go with a suburban NJ surveyor and you'll get MUCH better customer service.

We couldn't be happier with our new fence and the service we received from both companies. Our journey started with Trex Fencing because we wanted an environment-friendly alternative to the hardwood fencing most of our neighbors had. We fell in love with Trex because in our small backyard alone there are 100,000 fewer plastic bags in the ocean potentially choking turtles. We love the look of the alternating depths of the slats so we don't feel like we are sitting inside a box. And the no maintenance aspect is a dream for us. It will likely outlive us without us ever having to sand or paint! Tyler was wonderful at answering all my questions, including "Who can we get in New York City to install it?" Enter Olympic Fence. I loved them from the first phone call with Vicky. She was so efficient at getting the information they needed. She didn't know the answer to a question I asked and said "I'll call you back". Within a half hour, she did! (Unexpectedly prompt service in NYC!) Olympic's estimator, Carl, was on time, efficient, pleasant and witty. Their proposal was more reasonable in turn-around time, price and estimated time to completion than the two other quotes I got. The workers showed up when they said they would, they worked around all our backyard furniture, and they finished in a miraculous 1 day! (The other quotes were 2-4 WEEKS!) They did make a mistake that caused my neighbor some concern, but they came back two days later to fix it (they would have been back the very next day except it poured rain all day). That's what I call excellent service: do what you say you are going to do, do it on time, do it well, and if the inevitable mistake occurs, take responsibility and fix it ASAP. As I said, we could be happier.
