I recently brought my car to Laking Toyota for a scan because of my air bag light was on and now the car hiccups, idles roughly and seems like it will stall. I advised five people on staff about the problem and am now waiting for their reply. Here is the email I sent today.
"Dear Jack, Alyson, Heidi, Jodie and Brad, (Please note that the tone in this email is polite and professional)
We're very sorry to disturb you but we felt we needed to report a problem before we got blamed. This is to advise you that I just picked up our vehicle on (Aug 1st, at 11:30am and it is now 12 noon) after an air bag scan was performed and now the vehicle idles roughly, seems like it will stall and it hiccups, problems that did not exist prior to the scan. The problem began as soon as I picked up the car from the service department. I spoke to Mike in the Service Department about this as soon as I got home at noon today and told him about the problem and advised him I'd follow up with him tomorrow (Aug 2nd) if the problem did not clear up on its own. He agreed it was a good plan but he did not understand how a scan could affect the car like that and we, Shari and I - certainly don't understand either. It is a bit unsettling for us. I will call tomorrow morning as agreed and hope the car runs better. Please understand that we do not want to be blamed for this problem so that is why we are being proactive and informing you of the problem right away. The car was fine prior to that scan but now as I said, it is running roughly. It hiccups, idles roughly and sounds and feels like it will stall. Your help and understanding are appreciated.
Very respectfully yours,
Ritchy Dubé, BA, CAC and Shari Michaud"
I will see what they do and say next. I will follow up on this review and hope I have good things to report. Stay tuned. read more
