We come here every trip up to the valley. Still great service and the food is amazing as always! The restaurant is not "classy" but set up that it could be. In fact numerous weddings and other events have been hosted here. The fiddleheads were prepared and served perfectly and the gravy was amazing. This is close to where I grew up and we would always go for wing night, where you could get as many wings as you wanted for a decent price. I love their bbq sauce, it's homemade and very different. With snowmobile season in full force, Lakeview can be a busy place. Reasonably priced food is consistently served in a timely manner. On our last two visits to Lakeview, we were served by 'Captain Brie' and just want to give her a big Thank you! Servers can make or break your dining experience and Brie is a delight. We arrived at 12:45. we were the only party waiting for a table, yet it took 10 minutes or more for anyone to even acknowledge our presence. That should have been a warning sign. The waitress took over an hour to take our order, annd we were there 2 hours before we saw our lunch. Several parties who came in after us received their meals before us. We ordered a salad, lobster rolls and a burger, nothing that would have taken the kitchen as long as it did. Not sure where the fault lay: was it the kitchen or wait staff? I will never know, but don't care because I am never going back. I ordered the salad special: peach, heirloom tomatoes, and burrata salad.The peaches were not ripe, hard as a rock. There were no heirloom tomatoes on my salad, just a bunch of supermarket grape tomatoes. and I believe the burrata was just ordinary mozzarella cheese. To be fair, their lobster rolls were fresh, generously sized, and well priced. The mud pie is recipe is coffee ice cream, whipped cream, on a choc cookie crust. what we were served was not their usual mud pie. it was choc ice cream, no coffee ice cream, on a chocolate brownie with a chocolate crust that we could not cut as it was so hard. Given the epic wait time, the complete failure of my salad, and the mud pie lacking coffee ice cream, this was a lunch time disaster. read more

We went there for lunch. Not too pack. The view of the lake was spectacular. The water looks very calm and so peaceful. We ordered clam chowder, smoked salmon, poutine and prime ribs 18 ounces. We were there last night for Halloween, this was not our first time as we go often. The service was horrible we arrived at 4:30 and we ordered a 12" pizza for two with a Draft and Frozen Strawberry Daquari. We only were served at 5:45. At a certain time we almost left. When the pizza was served it looked awful, mostly burned, and still served on a cardboard, so probably a frozen pizza, the waitress excused the time it took and explained the chef was not at par and offered 15% off, she should have offered it at least at 50%. When she asked us if we wanted desert we said no because it would have taken too much time. We paid and left $1.40 of tip because we were insulted. It used to be a good and great place to go but now I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. read more

If you're a snowmobiler and ride in the County- then you already know of the Lakeview! A great place for food and drink, friendly service and a place to take a break and get warmed up after freezing your 'what evers' off during some amazing riding! There's a pellet stove in the bar side along with a pool table, jukebox. So much room to hang up your riding gear while you get warmed up! The menu has a huge variety. I've had the lobster roll, a club sandwich, and just recently their pad Thai- which was excellent and I will certainly be ordering again! One of their fabulous new amenities- if your cell phone needs charging from having the cold suck the life out of it, just let them know at the bar they have portable battery charges! You eat and drink and your cell gets recharged as-well! A really fun place to go, staff and locals are always friendly and welcoming, and if you are lucky you will see some of the cast from "American Loggers" tv show! Also each year they sell tee shirts for the snowmobiling season- a must have! read more

After today's visit I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We made reservations that they did not honor first of all. Several big parties were seated before us even though we came early for our reservation. When we asked after 20 minutes of waiting seeing other big tables leave we were told that they were working on it. We waited 20 more minutes and checked again as we saw another big party arrive after us get seated first. When we did get seated the waitress acted like we were a nuisance to her. She took our drink order as the hostess came over to give us silverware. When taking our order the waitress left our table not once but twice to deliver food to another large party but there were 3 other girls just standing there. When she did come back to complete our order she did not smile and was more concerned with the rest of the room than us. Half of the appetizers came out and they were really nice but half of our party was waiting on their appetizers. I also asked for the salads to come out before hand and she shook her head yes but no other acknowledgment. After 20 minutes I asked about the rest of the appetizers while the waitress was clearing dishes nearby and she said they would be right up. They arrived a minute later after she realized they were sitting there and they were cold. When our meal came out we thanked the waitress and made sure to be pleasant but she still did not smile and was more concerned with other things than our table. Our food was hot but the fish was very dry and there was way too much cheese on everything making it hard to eat. Overall the service was terrible and the waitress was rude. I probably will not recommend this to anyone traveling north anytime soon. read more

You would be hard pressed to find a restaurant anywhere in the United States with more beautiful views. It is awesome! The restaurant is a casual country spot with a large menu. The service was first rate. Sadly, that is where the compliments end. My wife ordered the lazy man's Lobster and it was overcooked. She chose not to say anything as we were with the couple that brought us. I ordered a medium T-Bone and it was overcooked with the consistency of leather. I sent it back and received a medium well almost well done steak. I stopped at that point and ate it. Our friends food was overcooked as well. They were zero for four. Though the salad and the rolls were good. I will try them again if only for the view, and the optimistic chance it was a bad day. One star for the salads & rolls and one star for the view. Two-Star bad food. Get a new cook! read more

I'm giving this place 3 for potential, though for this experience it really deserves a 2. The menu has a wide variety which is either very good or bad. I'd say it's probably not a good thing for this place. You want to master what you do not be mediocre at tons of things. Problem #1: we were told what time our food would be ready. It didn't come out for more than 20 minutes after, and it wasn't hot anymore, warm-ish but not hot. So clearly the food was done but sitting for some reason. When it finally came, they didn't bring utensils or our drink. We had to ask for both. My husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger. It was okay, but it obviously sat out a long time. The fries were clearly cooked in the same oil as fish. That taste carried over, not pleasant. They would have been good if cooked separately. This is very bad for people with allergies. They should change this. I ordered the fettuccine with sauce and mozzarella. It should be simple and hard to mess up. Sadly, the pasta wasn't fresh, and I don't mean it wasn't homemade. I wasn't expected scratch pasta, but this pasta was stuck together like old microwaved pasta. You know what I'm talking about. The sauce itself would lend itself great to seafood dishes, but it's not a normal marinara. It's got a tang and spice too it. The mozzarella on top wasn't properly melted either. I didn't finish it. Honestly, I didn't even put a dent in it. I won't be reheating it (again since it's clearly been reheated already) and eating the leftovers either. There was one redeeming thing. I ordered the spinach salad, and that was surprisingly good, really good. I was glad I ate the whole thing before starting the disappointing pasta. I'd give it only two stars honestly, but I think the place has potential. Maybe the problems were due to being busy. The fixes to make it at least 4 stars would be easy. The bones are there. Honestly, I don't know if we'll go back. I might give it one more go. I don't usually rate the first time some place unless it's terrible or phenomenal. I felt I should this time in case the owners want to fix their mistakes. Sadly, it seems most restaurant owners in Maine don't pay attention not utilize Yelp at all. I guess we'll see. read more

This place is surprisingly good. You might not expect a restaurant this great in Saint Agatha, ME, on a lake in the middle of nowhere. Everything we had was terrific. Is it as good as places on the coast, yes, and better than most. For instance, not only are the fried clams perfect, but the French fries that come with them are homemade and outstanding. You can get a nice dinner salad with great dressing and a loaf of warm bread to accompany your meal rather than the typical little cup of coleslaw and boring white dinner roll that you get at most places. I stayed at Lake View this summer for a wedding and couldn't have been happier with the quality of the breakfast buffet. I don't make a habit of eating at buffet's these days largely because I am always disappointed with the quality of the food. I am pleased to report that I did not have that problem at Lake View. It was clear that instead of someone warming up vats of breakfast like items Lake View actually had someone cooking real food. The staff was very friendly though admittedly seemed a bit stressed by the large number of wedding guests that decided to get breakfast at the same time. However, they did their best to keep the coffee flowing and address any issues. The eggs were fluffy, the potatoes were fresh and delicious and the breakfast meats were some of the best I've had at a restaurant in a long while. growing up, i used to LOVE Lakeview on the hill in Frenchville............the last two times i've been there, i've not been happy. last time i had fried clams. They came as one large mucky claim all fried together and when i broke it up, i had a bunch of wet batter dipped clams in my plate. I asked if they could cook them better and they brought me back a dish of dried our fried batter.............discusting. Prior to that i had ordered prime rib. it was so thin, i thought i could see through it. like a slice of roast beef. not happy at all with Lakeview and with such a great sporting club restaraunt down the street, can't imagine why anyone is dining here anymore. read more

lobster roll, amazing .. much better than mill bridge, although they should really use the bread kill bridge uses .. then they'd probably win best lobster roll on the planet! the lobster with seafood stuffing was fantastic .. chowder .. meh, wasn't impressed at all .. the seared scallop pasta dish was pretty good too .. my gripe about this place was how long it took our food to come out .. nearly 40 minutes! once we got our food, I ordered a plate to go .. 20 mins later .. it still wasn't ready .. and when it finally was .. the server still hasn't gotten our settled up our check! ugh .. seriously? Clams came out as one giant one. Bread is like air and tasteless. Ordered spaghetti with meatballs, they had none. Also spaghetti was over cooked, last time we eat there for dinner! The restaurant features a comfortable back room that seats about 20 people. The individual tables can be configured in a long table arrangement. The room is simply decorated with pale walls and sconces. In the past, we've used the room for lunches with a PowerPoint presentation. The staff was very accommodating. The salads were fresh,the steaks tasty and the sides were excellently prepared. Service was not particularly fast, so this get-away should include lots of good conversation and a relaxed attitude about the duration of the meal. Of course, there's the nice view of the lake from its elevated position, from which the restaurant gets its name. That helps. In short: good service, good food, nice atmosphere at an affordable price. read more

My husband, son and I ate at the Lakeview today. The food was good, the service was prompt (even with two very large parties ahead of us). The view is AMAZING. However, if you want to eat outside on the lovely patio you have to order your food "to go" and then go sit outside - no table service on the patio. Still, an enjoyable meal with a view. read more
