We can't say enough good things about First Mile Brewing. We arrived Friday evening after driving several hours because visiting First Mile was our daughter's one request for her vacation. Unfortunately, the power had gone out, the doors were locked, and Travis and Jodi were heading home. When they learned how far we'd traveled and why we had come, they asked if we had cash, turned around, reopened the brewery just for us, and served us anyway. That simple act of kindness transformed what could have been a huge disappointment into the highlight of our day. The beer was outstanding, but what we'll remember most is the genuine hospitality and generosity we experienced. Travis and Jodi, thank you for going above and beyond for complete strangers. You made our daughter's vacation wish come true, and you gave our family a memory we'll never forget. If you're anywhere near Fort Kent, do yourself a favor and stop at First Mile Brewing. First Mile Brewing, the northern most brewery in the state of Maine. Named after the iconic first mile of route 1, that stretches from Fort Kent Maine down to the Florida Keys. This was a must visit for my wife and I during our Maine route 1 trip. The taproom is more rustic with tables and a bar with a couple seats. Due to needing to head back early we only sampled their cream ale and Mexican lager, both were pretty solid. Definitely seems to be a spot for locals as their place to grab a drink after work. Bartender was friendly. Overall a solid brewery worth checking out if in the area just didn't have anything that set it apart and made it that memorable. read more

We popped into First Mile for beer and pizza while visiting Fort Kent and were so glad we did! We tried their new pizza (Margherita and Veggie), got a flight, and their hard seltzer. The pizza was really great - excellent crust and yummy toppings! They have a ton of hard seltzer flavors - I got mine with a bomb pop which was so fun! The beer drinkers in the group were super impressed with their beer as well. All in all, a great spot with great vibes. 10/10 would recommend! read more

Arrived on a Saturday afternoon. There were a few people around the bar but not a big crowd. I had two flights. The first included the LV40 Pale Ale (excellent with moderately strong citrus and pom fruit aroma/flavor), the berry ale (the name escapes me now, made with local berries that are a cross between raspberries, and blueberries). The berry flavor was more subtle than I expected (raspberries are usually over the top in beers making them taste like a raspberry soda) making this beer thoroughly enjoyable. I also tried the Witbier (needed more corriander or some other kind of spice) and the O'Kelly's Irish Red (moderately rich, malty ale, well done). I wanted to try the Rolling Coal Oatmeal Stout but it was only in cans. I asked the beertender if I could buy a four pack and pour one at our table. She said there was some kind of state law against that. She then took one of the cans from the four pack I was holding, opened it, and poured into a glass for me...fantastic service!! Overall the beers were not quite up to the steller level but were certainly enjoyable with no stinkers or obvious technical flaws. The service was over the top outstanding. We ordered pizza from the restauarant two doors down and enjoyed it with our beers. read more

Great stop every year while upta camp. Solid beers (and can get 4 packs to go), staff is always helpful and friendly, and cool vibe inside. Totally recommend when in the area. Can bring in food from local establishments (there aren't that many) if hungry but I've always enjoyed sitting at the bar and listening/joining in fun conversations. read more

Friendly and knowledgeable staff (of one), she answered all my questions and let me try anything I wanted. This tap room is the Fort Kent version of Cheers! With 8 tap lines (flights available) and countless beers for every taste bud and craft soda available for any non beer drinkers, there is quite literally something for everyone. There are games like jenga, battleship; etc to promote friendly competition and it's a family friendly atmosphere. It's encouraged to bring yourself a snack, order take out or delivery from the local restaraunts, too! The staff is so friendly, the owners pop in and out and never say no to a tour! They offer flight nights, trivia nights and open on Sundays. They have live music often and it's the perfect place to for an after work relaxing beverage or a first date. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

Great new local brewer and pub! 8 local brews on tap ranging from light to very hoppy. Waitstaff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the brews on tap. Recommend you try the flight sampler, it's a great way to learn which IPA is for you! I only gave four stars for two reasons, firstly the lack of music at the time we visited, although we were assured there is music, it just wasn't turned on for some reason. Second is the lack of food available, although we have heard there are now three local eateries that deliver. Great new bar!! Loved it! read more
