Never going back again. They way that they spoke to me the whole time was as if I was stupid and didn't know how to care for my animals. The whole time he's just talking at me. Giving my pamphlet after pamphlet on shots. Okay great. What I didn't know was when they took my dogs in the back, they were giving them all of these shots WITHOUT my consent or even telling me. They cut my dogs nails and made him bleed without telling me too. If they would of told me I would of asked them to please not cut his nails. Then my significant other calls because I'm clearly upset that they did all this. The doctors response was to yell at him and lie. I had a very bad experience here and will not be returning. I brought my dog in because I thought she might have ringworm and I wanted to have it checked out. The only reason went to this vet is because it's where my aunt took my dog as a puppy before I got her. My appointment was at 9:30 so I got there at 9:20 and filled out some paperwork. I sat in the waiting area for a while and then I was moved to an exam room where I sat waiting for Dr. Walker until 10:20. His vet techs were very sweet and came to visit with my dog and I while we waited, but I was still pretty annoyed with our wait time. When Dr. Walker came in, my dog barked a few times and then laid down. He looked at me and said "wow has she always been aggressive like that?". I explained that she had a bad experience with a trainer who used a shock collar on her when she was younger and has been fearful of people, mostly men, since then. He basically told me that was a bunch of crap and that dogs can't be fearful of just men, etc. He went on to tell me about the best behavioralist he knows who is out of Dallas and does board training or whatever and that they would give my dog anti-anxiety medication if I took her there and then she would be good as knew. He also said "her being aggressive is a liability to you as an owner, because what if a child came up and grabbed her and she bit them in the face? Then what is yours is theirs now." He ended with "if she doesn't start doing better you need to do something about it". I work with her every SINGLE day and she has made incredible progress over the past several months so that felt like a slap in the face. Next he looked at her chart and noticed that I give her Simparica Trio (heartworm, flea, & tick prevention) and went on a tangent about how it is sooo expensive compared to what he offers. He suggested Heartgard, I asked if it covered fleas and ticks too and he said "ugh let me finish" and continued to preach to me about Heartgard and how I don't need flea and tick prevention in Rockwall and how people waste money on prevention they don't need. Finally he says "you don't need flea and tick prevention unless you live in deep East Texas or Oklahoma or somewhere like that". I replied with "well we do live in East Texas." (theres where I live for college) He quickly grabbed another pamphlet for Nexgard and told me that it was good for preventing fleas and ticks and that if I but Heartgard and Nexgard together I can get a rebate. I have tried that combo and they are great but 1. I find it easier to give my dog one tablet a month that prevents all 3 things 2. I didn't go to him for medication advice I just wanted my dogs rash checked out and to get an antibiotic if necessary. FINALLY he asks about my dogs rash. I showed him a picture and said I thought it might be ringworm because of the circular pattern. He said that because of her age he didn't think it was ringworm but that he wanted to take a sample or something and make sure it wasn't non small cell sarcoma and then walked out of the room. I sat there a little bewildered that he told me he wanted to check my 11mo old dog for cancer and then just vanished. Anyways a few vet techs took my dog back to look at her and then a few minutes later asked me to come back to the exam area because they couldn't find the spot on her leg. In their defense the spot had cleared up almost completely besides a couple of scabs that Dr. Walker took the liberty of picking off that were now bleeding. They had my dog muzzled which I can understand because you can never really know what a dog is going to do and she did bark at Dr. Walker when he came in the room initially, but it still made me sad. She was also being pinned down by 3 of his vet techs and looked absolutely terrified. I showed them where the rash had been and went back to our exam room. They gave me some antibiotic cream (finally) and sent me on my way. I was so happy to be out of there. I know that this review is lengthy, so long story short, please just take your dog somewhere else. read more

Dr Walker and his staff used to be one of the best in Rockwall, unfortunately over the past couple years it's hard to leave there with a bill under $300. He price gouges, doesn't allow you to buy your yearly heartworm prevention meds from a third party( PetMeds, Chewy, etc) like other vets do. His front desk staff is RUDE. After taking him to Petsmart for years, I finally found a vet that took the time to diagnose him properly and explained everything, and saved me money. I think we are on the right track on getting him healthy. And the staff is SO nice and caring! I learned more in an hour than I ever did in the 10 years of going to Banfield. read more

Absolutely horrible veterinary clinic. If I could give 0 stars, it's what this vet needs. We have told them to not run any tests without speaking with us first and twice they have racked up $500-$800 vet bills without our approval of what was being done. Sherry at the front is the rudest person you will ever meet. She was openly rude on the day of my dads funeral stating that they went ahead with testing because we didn't answer the phone and they figured we should have been "done" by 3:00 so they didn't understand why we didn't answer the phone. Do not use them under any circumstance. We will never set foot inside their clinic again. read more

We love Dr. Walker and his staff! We have been taking our dogs here for over 15 years. During that time, Dr. Walker has treated 5 of our dogs. He is very caring, experienced and takes the time to make sure you understand what is going on with your pet. If you have a pet that no one else can diagnose - take them here. We now live over 200 miles away, but he still treats one of ours who has multiple issues. read more

I have gone to this vet for years and often considered changing, but stupidly never did. I will never go back after taking my 18 year old dog to be put down recently. I had called ahead to coordinate bringing her in. My son and I showed up and the person behind the counter came up. Through tears I told her that I had brought in Daisy. She cheerfully asked "what are we doing with her today". Are you kidding me? At this point I was supposed to pay so you don't have to do anything after except leave. My son and I were instead put directly in a room. They took Daisy right away and explained that they would give her some kind of sedative and bring her right back to us. Dr Walker popped in once and asked how old she was...she has gone to Dr. Walker since he took over the practice from Dr. Underwood (loved him!!!). I said "18" and he said "that's not too old for this bread...I had a Golden (I think) that lived until 19". Congratulations. They did not bring Daisy to us for 45 minutes or more. My 10 year old son and I sat in that small room alone and crying because we knew she way laying on the table alone somewhere else! Also, I had to listen for those 45 minutes to Dr Walker talk loudly to the couple next door who clearly did not like how Dr Walker was talking to them. When they finally brought Daisy in, Dr Walker followed in immediately and proceeded to put her down I didn't even realize that he was starting otherwise I would have said I wanted a few minutes with her. I felt completely robbed of getting to say a proper goodbye. I am crying now 3 weeks later just thinking about it the entire horrible experience. I have had to put down 2 other dogs before and they were handled properly and respectfully. read more

I highly recommend Lakeside Vet Clinic. I took my 10 year old dog to Dr. Walker because she was having "accidents" in the house and she was just not feeling good. Since she is so old I was afraid this was going to be an ongoing problem and I might have to put her to sleep. Dr. Walker treated her bladder infection but he also did bloodwork and other tests on her and found she has diabetes and thyroid problems. Now that ALL her problems are being treated she is like a much younger dog. She plays and runs more and no more accidents in the house! Dr. Walker gave my Rosie a new lease on life. read more
