Fine, I'll admit it: I'm in love with Lakeshore Learning. I was first tipped off about this place by one of my baby's (okay, so she's two...not exactly a baby but whatever ;) therapists and to say it was love at first sight...that wouldn't come close to cutting it. I'm a mom of four (5, 4, 4, and 2) and my youngest three have developmental delays from mild to severe. While my husband and I have come up with some amazingly engaging/proactive activities for the kids thus far, we're always on the hunt for more, for better, for That One Item/Activity/Etc. We've Been Missing. Lakeshore Learning--much to the chagrin of my Visa card--has yet to disappoint. It's by no means exclusively a store for teachers; it's by no means exclusively a store for special needs parents. Sure, sensory items and activities abound...block play, active play, puzzles, and manipulatives in abundance--but this is just the tip of the iceberg. If you don't want to make the trip (although I don't know why you wouldn't!), hit up the website and request a catalog. It is huge, glossy, and enticing. Also? Lakeshore Learning offers up a pretty sweet check in deal for the mobile Yelping crowd. As *if* you needed more incentive to stop in, right? Riiiiiiight. :) read more

Awesome place for alternative learning materials. My niece is autistic and I always find smart, fun ideas for her here. She especially loves the puzzles and word games. The staff is very patient and knowledgeable about all their products. They're not just knowledgeable salespeople but also friendly and family oriented. I always leave here wanting to buy her the entire store! read more

I stopped in here yesterday not ever knowing it was there, but happened to be shopping in the strip mall. I'm so glad I saw it & went in! I run a daycare from my home. We have circle time & work on our basic preschool skills. This store had so many great things to add to our daily routine! The kids will be so excited when I get everything organized & set up for them!! I will for sure be going back!! Lots of great sales & deals too! read more

Teacher Heaven. Expect to fall in love and drop tons of $$$...Every time I go I spend big. They always have a clearance area which has good stuff. They also have all the Interactive white board Cd's and you can even test them out before you buy. Not your typical teacher store since most of the products are for centers and small group games...which the students love! I love this store the only problem is that I leave with a mental wish list of what I want to get next. read more

I have to say the sales associate "Kate" was amazing and extremely friendly! I couldn't ask for better customer service. Kate knew exactly what I was talking about and what I needed to get for the project ,That I was clueless about. The store has a great selection of items for educators. Lots of awesome posters, bulletin board items, and more. They have games and books for lower levels, not so much stuff for high school, though. Staff is always friendly and helpful. read more

A pretty neat store if you're a teacher and a rich one at that. They have some amazing learning tools for all ages and games, however they are way overpriced. We were the only ones in the store and staff did not greet us at all or offer any type of customer service. read more

Love this place! My favorite aspect is the do it yourself hot laminating machines. They will allow you to open what you intend to buy and laminate before ringing it up. So much nicer than paying and then trying to dig it back out of your bag. The workers are always so helpful. The store is a little light on the junior high material- but you get that about anywhere- altho it does seem they have been adding more materials in this range recently. There are frequent sales happening (sometimes up to 75% or more off). If you subscribe to their "club" and get texts, you get a break on the lamination and get some pretty nice coupons as well. At the start of the year they always have some giveaway which is usually a nice lesson plan book. read more

Unable to concentrate on selecting my paints, I went to give my husband the three things I had managed to pick up and was stopped by another associate who gave us both the same sales speech AGAIN. It was as though the entire shift was actively preventing me from finding the materials I was there, cash in pocket, struggling to buy. Yes, I did start getting terse and snippy when I was just repeatedly approached with the very same canned spam sales pitch by multiple ridiculously aggressive associates, because it was incredibly annoying. Maybe they thought I was shoplifting? One associate who had already given us the sales speech and apparently taken offense at my manner then approached me when I was by myself (of course) still trying to look at the Goldens. In a voice dripping with contempt, they slowly and deliberately gave me the same speech yet again. That's not creepy or confrontational, is it. Refusing to make eye contact with them, I squinted at the tube in my hands and said again, great, thanks, got it. We were in the store for maybe five minutes, seriously, for all of that. The contemptuous confrontational person came to the door while I was outside waiting for my husband, and stood with phone in hand, watching me with a little smile, seemingly texting. So on top of all that I'm sure I'm the new Karen on some sad social media site somewhere. And then we drove to the Schaumburg Blick, which is awesome with associates who are allowed to speak normally to customers and let them shop, and I bought all the rest of my paint there.

Once the project commenced, All Seasons worked until the project was done. They did not leave me wondering when they would be back. All Seasons number one goal was to provide excellent workmanship and to ensure they met our needs. They had a project manager on-site (Ramero) who always talked through the next stage or work to ensure it was to our liking. They had an expert wall builder (Jose) who meticulously built our fire pit, pillars, and waterfall. The entire crew was kind to my family and treated us great during the project. Also the office manager (Katie) oversaw all coordination of work and designed the flower beds around the house, which look amazing. All Seasons Landscaping is as good as it gets. There might be other companies that charge less but you will not get the level of detail and quality of work as All Season provides. We hired All Season Landscape Services, Inc. (11535 W. 183rd Place Orland Park, IL) based on a…read morereferral from Caribbean Pools, but our experience with them has been nothing short of a disappointment. The owner, Jay El Mahassni and office rep Katie Smulevitz have shown a complete disregard for their contractual obligations and have demonstrated poor communication throughout the entire process. From the beginning, there were several issues. They significantly "miscalculated" the amount of pavers required for our project and suggested an unnecessary additional retaining wall, which we fortunately caught before it became a costly "mistake." Despite taking our final payment, they failed to complete the project as outlined in the contract. Attempts to contact Jay and Katie regarding these concerns were met with unresponsiveness. We made numerous calls and sent multiple messages, but it's clear they had no intention of addressing our issues or fulfilling their contractual obligations. Furthermore, the contract specifically stated that they would switch out the copthorne on the fireplace, but they outright refused to do so. Despite our persistent attempts to contact them regarding this matter, they continued to ignore our requests. Other aspects of the project were also left unfinished. The natural edge border around the arborvitae they planted was never created as agreed upon. The polymeric sand did not cure properly, leaving unfilled areas, and many of the edging pavers quickly became insecure. Any time it rains, polymeric sand erodes and finds its way into the pool. Additionally, the deck was not properly pitched, resulting in water pooling in multiple areas. In the worst area of pooling water, their solution was to install a drain off to the side, rather than the lowest point where water naturally settles. To make matters worse, several defective pavers were installed, which should have been covered under warranty. However, our attempts to contact Katie and Jay to resolve this issue have been futile, leaving us frustrated and without any recourse to this point. Several of the arborvitae they planted are dying and even though they are under warranty for one year, Jay El Mahassni refuses to return calls and texts. The warranty, which is clearly stated in the contract, does not appear to be something All Seasons will honor. It's clear that All Season Landscape and its owner, Jay El Mahassni, lack professionalism and operate without integrity. The consistent lack of communication further exacerbates the problems encountered throughout the project. I strongly advise others to avoid doing business with All Season Landscape Services Inc., regardless of any referrals or recommendations. Save yourself the trouble and find a reputable landscaping company that values their clients and stands by their commitments and warranty.
