He gave me a tour, and encouraged me to come by anytime. Triathletes are permitted before and after hours, and he instructed me on how to pay the $10 entry. Park hours were 10a-5p when I went but you can swim anytime. You can pay via QR code or cash. You do need to sign a waiver, but only once. Your first time I recommend stopping by during hours. There is a place to rinse off. There were several other swimmers when I was there. I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. The best part was the water! It was warm of course given the time of year but it was beautiful. I much prefer this to Lake Longhorn. Two laps is 1.2mi, four is 2.4.

During my swim, I noticed scuba lessons taking place nearby. The buoys and entry ramps could benefit from an upgrade or repairs. The changing booths are not very reliable, so it's recommended to change in your car or truck post-swim. There is a hose available for rinsing off after your swim. While there are nice picnic tables, there are no designated secure areas to leave your belongings while in the water, so it's best to keep all valuables in your vehicle. Overall, a pleasant location for a swim.

It's definitely peaceful, and it took my group 30 minutes to get from the start point (around The Kitchen at the Dunlavy) to Sabine Street on the day we went. It was exhausting but definitely worth the effort and price. The service was fantastic. They were super helpful, which was awesome since most of the people in my party were first-timers! I highly recommend this experience; kayaking was such a blast today!

Beautiful views of the central fountain (which you can pedal boat close to if you'd like, but look out, you may get sprayed!) and the Pioneer Memorial Obelisk. Lots of geese, ducks, and other local wildlife are plentiful around the lake. Volunteers feed them in the morning, and visitors also like to stop and distribute treats for their furry and feathered friends. Once you're in the water in your boat, you will likely be greeted by a goose or two during your adventure! Fun spot for family and friends. Nice outdoor escape in the heart of the city.
