The views are quite lovely with the blue skies being reflected off the water. Very peaceful and overall clean, I look forward to returning here.

On Black Friday morning, my husband and I needed to walk off some of our Thanksgiving calories, so…read moremy sister-in-law suggested we walk around Spring Lake and then walk home. She dropped us off by the lake and showed us the best path for going home. She and the kids bike here all the time from their house and they're able to do most of the riding on trails in this sprawling subdivision that is Cinco Ranch. There's really not much you can do here, but walk, run and bike around it. It's 2 mile loop. You can't wade, swim or kayak on it as the lake has alligators and poisonous snakes, according to posted signs. Yikes! We saw alligators when we were in the Everglades in Florida and they are very scary creatures! Weird that they have gators in this uber suburban setting. My brother-in-law told me that even the lake by the golf course which is just across the street from their house also has alligators. I was surprised to see not many people out and about that morning, considering that the lake is surrounded by lots of 4,000+ sq ft homes. There is also a nice apartment complex next to it. It felt like I was in a ghost town. It was 80 degrees that day, so I expected more people out and about getting some exercise. This lake is also next to the Cinco Ranch Community Pool and Club House. It'll probably be busier when the pool is open.

The laundry room is nice with professional size machines. And they even have ones dedicated for pet laundry so you don't have to worry about getting fur on your clothing. The machines do not take money, you pay either by card at the kiosk or by downloading the app, which is actually awesome as it lets you follow the time left....pure genius in my book! I did meet a few people while in there and every one of them were extremely friendly and had been there for a long time. They had nothing but good things to say about it so that in itself makes me feel like I made the right choice. It is an Adult centered resort so there are no children running around all hours, not that I have anything against them, but when I'm glamping I want to enjoy the peace and sounds of nature. That's all I have for now, but will update after I've had a chance to actually do something other than laundry.

This is a pretty standard and spacious and enjoyable park, which provides a nice refuge from the old downtown area of Katy, from the Suburban hell and endless monotony of the rest of the sprawling suburb. It's just too hot here for a lot of the year, and the nice spring and fall seasons are short as they are, but during those, it can be pretty nice around here. Parks are always a good thing and this one is relatively unspoiled. Anyway, even if Katy came first, Barbie came most, I saw to that.

They have mini golfing where you can rent equipment inside the facility. They have a great playground area and outdoor fitness equipment. Inside the facility, they have a free pool and gym area. They offer a variety of classes such as yoga, water aerobics, etc. Make sure to check out their website or pick up their schedule at the facility for hours of operation. For first timers, you will have to fill out a form and don't forget to bring a large sized towel for workouts! There's a really great large dog park next door but there's no entrance to the dog park from Mary Jo Peckham. You would have to park at the Katy Library to enter the dog park. I I went to check out this park for a small event for myself and a few of my friends. It is hidden…read moredeep in Katy. The park has a pavilion which you can rent for $125 deposit which will be returned to you after the event and satisfactory cleanup. The pavilion has both a sink with running water and a huge BBQ grill that uses charcoal. There is also a gazebo which is first come first serve and clean bathrooms. I think this will work for our event the question was whether we could boil crawfish onsite and they said we could. Unfortunately there can be no alcoholic beverages with out a policeman. Aw well.... If you proceed further into the park it has several soccer fields and baseball diamond for palay.

We decided we were ready for some more water fun and rented out a boat for 2 hours and requested him as our captain, he truly made our experience wonderful. WILL be returning !
