The technician said the doctors notes were unclear, but the doctor also made the same mistake. 2. The doctor said he would arrange for a prescription refill. That never happened. 3. The office kept leaving messages on my old land line, based on paperwork filled out over 5 years ago, despite me filling out new paperwork with my cell #. 4. I received a pre-printed bill for my co-pay and when I sent it in it was returned "no such address". Other notable items are the eye chart used for exams being a tilted reflection of a computer monitor in a mirror that needed cleaning and the run-down condition of the exam room. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE

I had a 2:15 appointment today (3/14/24) for a laser trabeculotomy for glaucoma. I arrived a few minutes before 2:15 to find the waiting room (10- 12 chairs) completely filled. When I checked in, I asked the receptionist how late Dr. Marano was running. She said 30-45 minutes. I sat down. At about the 30 minute mark, I queried a couple of fellow patients, also waiting for Marano, and asked if this was typical. They both said "Oh yes. You should see the Livingston office. It's much worse". I have never waited more than 10-15 minutes for Dr. Merin Abraham before. At 50 minutes, with the waiting room still full, I walked out. I realize that medical doctors occasionally get a patient that takes unexpectedly long with a patient or two, resulting in a longer than usual wait, but I do not believe that to be the case here. I believe that Marano doesn't give a hoot how long his patients have to wait. He apparently routinely grossly overbooks, so as to squeeze the most money out of his days at each of his offices. I don't need that. There are plenty of opthalmologists out there

Even without picking them up. My husband did not know he can take his script anywhere and purchased glasses for over double, if not tripple the price at lense crafters or pearl vision. We called to cancel the order and were literally told they cant, theyre made already and theyre custom. They did not need to tell him there's no returns or CANCELLING orders before when they were suppose to be made. They offered up that its not even in fine print somewhere that he may have signed because "most people assume you cant return glasses here were a boutique and custom made" Lenses crafters and pearl vision also "custom make" (measure your face for fit and lenses to your script, glare etc) and have return policy. Only difference is theyre transparent and affordable. Will be disputing this with credit card. Its beyond me how they say they didn't need to put that in writing or let patients know its final sale because its "assumed" by most you cant

If you are unfortunate miss their call to schedule you for Dr Greyson be prepared and ensure you have time. When returning the call to the directed number It is not directly forwarded To the scheduling dept but rather to main number. Then you get interrogated by that person and had to look you up in the computer to "review". this can take several minutes. Next you think your being transferred to scheduling but no you leave a voicemai. The scheduling staff for Dr Greyson then calls you back but again you are not available. They leave another message snd a telephone number to call. You call back the number to Schedule surgery with Dr Greyson but again your back at start. The main desk again had to interview you all over again look you up in the computer. She asked me why I didn't answer the phone when they previously called! The same scenario repeated. Transferred to Scheduling to leave another message. This repeated itself 5 times. I asked for a direct number to scheduling but so to streaKline the process but that's not allowed. Finally I speak to Maribel. But again she wants to review and go over everything. She repeatedly told me about needing clearance from my doctor for the surger. I told her I was aware. I asked her to move on so to schedule a date. Her response was tell me she would continue if I had an attitude. I asked who was her supervisor and she refused to identify and hung up. Her supervisor rominita subsequently text me and I called back and had to go through the whole 10 minute ordeal to leave a message I don't have this amount of time energy and patience. It took too much work for nothing. I called my original optometrist and asked to be referred to another provider. If you like a challeng. This is the place for you.

What stands out to me is that they are professional but still personable, and they're up on new technology and techniques. I'm also confident in the doctors and technicians who work there, and feel I'm getting the best care whenever I go. The office is housed inside the Atkins-Kent building across from Saint Barnabas Hospital. It's easy to get to by car from 280, but also there are bus routes since it's close to the hospital. There's a large waiting room with ample seating and flat screen TV, but I haven't had to really wait for my appointments and go in when scheduled. In the waiting room, you can also peruse the glasses. Last year, I needed to spend down my HSA money and bought two pairs of glasses and my usual contacts. I remember there were a lot of frames options for me, which isn't always the case. Nice inventory. When you enter the office, you check in with the front desk admin. They've always been friendly when I've gone and also on the phone. Your name is called when it's time to go to the back. Again, never really a wait. We see Dr. Schultz, a great doctor who's knowledgeable and who you can tell keeps current with developments in his field/specialization. My partner has gone to Dr Schultz for over 10 years now; me, about 5 or so. We followed him to this office because, when you find a doctor or healthcare provider you can trust, you stick with them as long as you can! In terms of equipment, I thought the office has some modern devices. Also a few weeks ago, I went in for my annual eye exam and the front desk told me that - as an option - I could go for the optomap retinal exam/Optos retinal imaging instead of the traditional one where you get your eyes dilated. I may consider trying this next time, but it's not covered by insurance, however, you won't have that 4-5 hours of eye discomfort and blurry vision. I thought it was cool they offer this. I recommend Miller Ophthalmology without reservation.
