Our group oh six went to this pub tonight and had a very nice meal. It's a spacious homey pub and n cottage country. I ordered a spinach salad with salmon and it did not disappoint although I did think the prices were slightly high for what it was. But everyone enjoyed the food and atmosphere. They had a guy playing jazz on a piano which was nice. I would go back here again if I'm ever in the area.

There are few places where the atmosphere is as inviting as the Lake Simcoe Arms. Pub fare at its finest. Although this visit was simply to enjoy their selection of desserts, the visit was worth the stop. No matter what you had to eat at the Arms, be sure to leave room for the Bread Pudding. The warm cake, smothered with caramel sauce is to die for and the coffee warm and fresh. The kids enjoyed a huge piece of decadent Chocolate Loven cake drizzled with chocolate sauce - which they devoured, leaving nothing but crumbs. My compliments do not stop with dessert, as the wait staff were accommodating and friendly. When one of the kids were being challenging, as they are at times, over their dessert, she went beyond expectation to ensure everyone was happy with their experience. Only one word of warning --- although the patio is large, it does fill up quickly on a beautiful summers day. Be sure to claim your seat early :-).

I decided to try out Simcoe Arms with a friend this weekend, after driving past it so many times on the way to the cottage. Though they had great service, lots of parking, and a beautiful patio, the food itself was unenjoyable. I am a lover of fish tacos, but this restaurant ruined my experience by making them really acidic and spicy. The tiny pieces of fish tasted like chicken fingers, and were stuffed with salad mix. No creaminess or flavour, except for the overwhelming acidity from the vinaigrette. My friend who got the buffalo chicken wrap said the same. Not coming back here for lunch, but maybe a just beer next time.

Very nice patio, came in on very hot evening 5:50pm, we were sitting inside then told one of the servers to pass it on we were moving outside because of the heat inside, things were a little mixed up but 10 minutes later we got water and order taken??i hope the food is good, lol I orderd the buffalo wrap, not good, fries were great, like swiss chalet, my wife's quiche was ok she said, service was ok to be honest

    Fun with friends!

During slow hours, when there were no crowds to distract from it, this staff member decided it was the perfect time to make me feel unwelcome in their establishment. The comments weren't subtle. They were laced with hostility and prejudice, completely out of line for someone representing a business that claims to offer hospitality. I came here for a drink, not a lecture dripping with bigotry. It's 2025--how does a place like this still employ someone who thinks their job description includes insulting paying guests over nationality? The Mansion on High Street should be embarrassed to have staff like this. Until they take accountability and ensure their employees reflect basic decency and professionalism, I strongly recommend anyone--local or traveler--take their money elsewhere.

Disappointed

They are also dog friendly (see below), as the other restaurant in resort are service animals only. Service 4/5 Came on a Saturday for supercars and jazz. More traffic than usual at the resort. That being said the team were pretty quick in getting our food to the table after ordering. The wait times for inside were longer than outside due to the heat. We sat outside but the breeze definitely helped out along with the umbrellas. Food 4/5 Portions were quite generous. We got a chicken wrap (chose honey garlic wing sauce) as well as nachos and a chicken Brie sandwich. The venue is also pet friendly , they had dog bowls a for food and water. They also had a dog beer (it is cold bone broth) for the dogs on the patio.

The place had a nice open layout with warm lighting. Crispy & Spicy Squid (4/5) was cooked perfectly. It was firm and crispy with red and green chillis. The sauces were on the sweeter side. We usually prefer the sauces to be more on the tangy and/or a creamy bold garlic flavour. Wagyu Burger (3/5) was decent. It came with two patties, smoked cheddar, caramelized onions, black truffle garlic aioli, tomatoes and pickles. The flavour profile met our expectation but we found that the patties themselves were a bit dry. We upgraded the side of fries for truffle fries (5/5) and those were delicious. Spicy Bison Sausage Rigatoni (5/5) was cooked perfectly. The sausage was complemented well with the acidity and delicate sweetness of the pasta sauce. The mushrooms were a great addition and the parmesan really tied in all the flavours together. We had the option to have it not spicy, mild or hot. We asked for hot because we enjoy spicy food but it was not as spicy as we had hoped it to be. NOTE: The bill comes with an additional 3% Resort Fee

I've had their fish and chips in the past, which were meh compared to what I've experienced elsewhere, but that is where I will finish complaining and start complimenting for example the tacos here. They are amazing, as is the poutine, the onion rings, and the Smash burger--I got the Angry Sterling, which is a flavour explosion with delicious toppings. And the drink, the Toronto cocktail, was amazing--a strong enough flavour of whisky with just enough of the liqueurs to make it not sting going down. Oh, and I haven't spoken about the live music yet. There was a guy playing guitar who was taking requests, and--and I'm saying this as a person who isn't too big a fan of acoustic guitar music--was pretty good. His passion alone made me start to bop my head and tap my foot to the music. Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the nice trails, beach, and a historic house in a neighbourhood that reminds me of the bridal path.
