The cod and cheese curds still retained moisture and flavor on the inside of the perfectly applied batter. I was honestly expecting the quality to be closer to cafeteria-grade, but that was clearly NOT the case. I'd bet the quality of the meal I received could compete with any restaurant in the area. Lucky I picked the right place to eat as I only stopped in Ashland once!

Table that came in after us about 15 minutes later got their pizza right away. We ordered a pizza and a ceasar salad. Finally got our food 1 hr and 20 minutes later. Pizza was warm, nieces salad was missing the pesto. Maybe it would have been worth the wait if the food was good but it sadly wasn't. Very mediocre. Oh yes and another table had to tell the waitress another table hadn't even gotten their drinks. Definitely would not recommend. I was going to be nice and give 3 stars but I changed my mind.

The pancakes were very large, and the sausage was good. The restaurant was a typical small town ole-school eatery. It was okay. The BLT was tasty. I enjoyed the gluten free bread (tasted like mine). I don't think I'd return but only because I didn't see anything else on the menu that I really wanted to try.

We came specifically for the Friday night Fish Fry, which comes with one side, and they were out of two of them (our first and second choices, unfortunately). I ended up ordering Beer Battered Fish with Rice Pilaf, and the other two at the table ordered Deep Fried Fish with Waffle Fries. It was 8:17 before our order came out - a full 45 minutes after we arrived. The Rice Pilaf was barely warm and flavorless. I only ate one bite of it (1/10) but the fish was excellent (9/10). The fish portion was large - I could only eat half, and took the other half of the fish to go. I left the rice. I asked about dessert to go, and neither of the cheesecakes on the menu were available, but the server said they had some chocolate peanut butter cheesecake, which wasn't listed anywhere. I got that and had a few bites before putting it in the fridge - it was ok, but nothing special (5/10). I'm not sure I'll even finish it, and that's saying something because cheesecake is my favorite dessert. Ambiance was dark and kind of dingy. Things needed to be dusted and wiped down. It felt like there was a sticky layer of grease on them (chairs, columns, table edges, etc.). Would probably go back and give them another shot, but would likely try a weekday when it's not so busy and all menu items are available. Overall 6/10
