The view is better than most that I've stayed in. With the new owners, we were greeted with such friendliness and hospitality! The rooms are large and super clean, nice linens and super comfy beds. My room had a really nice big fridge which was great for the drinks and snacks that we brought for the weekend. It is quiet but right in the heart of all the action too. When we were there, there was a group playing Corn hole in the parking lot which my kids loved too. The darling white swing was great for drinking my morning coffee while watching the water. I came with ear plugs and a sleeping mask so it worked out for me. The furniture is a bit sparse all around, but still a nice inn and place to stay. The parking is free and there is plenty around the building and it was nice to be close by a coffee shop. The inn provides a lot of food recommendations and things to do nearby. If I had time I would have checked out the Horicon marsh to go birding.

It smelled like paint. It was noisy with workers communicating loudly up and down the hall, and carpet cleaning machines. Given the lack of cars in the parking lot, it seems like they could have given us a room on a floor without the maintenance work. I said as much on the survey they asked me to take. Their response was that they hope to do better next time. There won't be a next time. I'll fondly remember having to excuse myself to get around the friendly guy painting our door frame. Good Times.

We stayed for a long weekend, and and it was the perfect location to get away. The rooms are all themed so when you call to reserve you can pick from the rooms they have available. We stayed in Unit 2, the Devil's Lake room which had photos of Devil's lake. The room included a mini refrigerator, coffee and tea, and alarm clock if needed. Right outside your door they have chairs and tables for enjoying the beautiful weather. They also have grills and an area for bonfires. I was only able to go to the communal area/lobby for the first morning as it was soon closed as they were started to do contactless check in/out. But it seems as though in less COVID-y times they have some coffee or tea there, light breakfast items like mini muffins or breakfast bars and fruit. They also had a communal puzzle and board games. Overall the place is super cozy, perfectly situated for a relaxing vacation with a number of restaurants and small shops to visit in Baraboo.
