The employees here are very conscientious, friendly, and courteous!! My truck was sparkling clean. I will definitely make Lake Effect Auto Wash my go to car wash. read more

This is the worst car wash I have ever gone to. Went today.. paid $18 for the best car wash.. no brushes used ahead of time except the windshield... car looks almost as bad as when I went in. This was was supposed to use the drying chamois.. but it did not run. I sure wish we had a better choice on the south side of town. read more

If you are looking to get a soapy, rinse spot filled vehicle for $15, this is the spot! I am an old 36 year old man, I clearly know what a dryer being on is like. The dryer didn't turn on, no parting water on my windshield. My tires full of soap. I requested to just go back through for a rinse. Attendant kept saying "well you can do it again, but if it didn't get rinsed the first time probably won't again." Requested to still make that attempt and he repeated the same exact statement. I guess he wasn't ACTUALLY offering a run through. With that being said I have a useless gift card for sale since I enjoy getting my car washed and looking nice and not soapy and spotty. Maybe I will give the gift card to someone I don't like as a prank read more

Had not used Lake Effect in quite some time do to previous bad experience. Thought I would give it another try. Never again!! The worker barely touched vehicle with a brush . I paid for the Ultimate wash half the brushes did not tough my car. The dryers and the drying clothes barely dried the vehicle. When I got out to dry the rest myself front end did not look clean at all. Sorry no 3rd chance fir Lake Effect!! read more

Close your vents, it's a pot shop. Don't expect all of the equipment to work or to be told what's not working, even if you pay for it. For example, pay extra for the dryer, but the dryer is out of service, again. I finally gave up on this place because there are so many others that do such a superior job and I don't have to explain to my kids what the weed smell is. read more

Couldn't give a 0 star. Spent $15 for a car wash. Watched the truck in front of me get every inch sprayed/soaped/etc. For my turn, they barely sprayed and soaped and my car started moving within 30 seconds while the truck waited 4-5 minutes. Once out, my car was still wet and dirt still on the car. The dryers never turned on at the end. Don't waste your money. Last laugh...they had a halloween basket as a tip jar before you even start the wash. Here's a tip...clean the car and get off your phone. What a joke... read more

Horrible experiences. It is closed a lot of the times it is supposed to be open. Have the time the soap doesn't get rinsed off read more

Terrible place that doesn't clean your car. And the guy who soaped our car purposefully broke our rear wiper. Then tried to say he didn't! The claim form to have the owner fix it literally just wants your insurance info.. they are going to claim it on YOUR insurance to cover the cost. Gross place with awful employees. If you look at google and other ratings sites they all say the same thing. The owner is trash, the employees are trash, the car wash is trash. No wonder every single review is one star. read more

Just returned from here, and again the worst $10 car was ever. Only went cause someone bought me a gift card. I had soap and suds all over my car, still had dirt on it. Water spots everywhere. This is absolutely the worst. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!! read more

Worst car wash ever - save your money . After going through car wash I you couldn't even tell it had been washed . So much dirt remained it was a joke . Plus the dryer wheels at the end don't work so our car was still wet and spotty . Will NEVER return read more

Absolute garbage. DO NOT USE THIS "Car Wash". It's so bad that it's not even listed in the Google search for Fenton car washes. The conveyor speed has been set to something excessive, maybe 60 or 70 ft/min. I got through the wash in a minute. It's so fast that the guys didn't have time to run the brush across the back of the car. It was so fast that the dwell time under the blowers was a joke. The car was totally wet when it exited the line. You can see from the fotos just what level of quality to expect from this dump. read more

Started off with vacuum nozzles that wouldn't stay on while using. At end of wash vehicle did not get blow dried. Then there is the spots all over. Expected more from them since they just went through a renovation. Last time for them read more

I've been coming here since they opened many moons ago. Service and wash has gone down the poopshoot!. I keep coming here thinking it'll get better , I'm throwing in the towel as of today. Came to get car wash and I still have bird poop and other stains on the car! Waste of money. read more

This is the worst car wash I have ever been to. First I pay for the deluxe car was for $10.00 then I do an upgrade on the tires for $3.00 Then I tip the guys 2.00 for there work. The guys just sprayed my car off no effort to do anything to the tires. I roll the window down and said I paid for a tire upgrade and the attendent "shrugged" his shoulders. I get out to dry my car off soapsuds Still all over the car. Passenger door still has mud all over and the tires and rims still dirty. So basically I was ripped off $15.00. This happen to me today Sunday October 14,2018, it will happen to you to because they don't give a crap!! read more

I paid $15 for the show time wash only to have my car still dirty on the rear end and no dry and shine as advertised due to that machine being broken. When I told the employee working, the only option he offered me was to run it through the wash again. I paid for the "dry and shine" and feel like this place is stealing from customer with false advertisement of what they are going to provide. Don't go there. They don't care about the people they serve. Not ethical. Terrible establishment. read more

This place is a rip off. I requested a basic $6 wash and they ended up deducting $19.95 from my checking account. Of course their touch screen was not printing receipts... so there was no way to see the charge before entering the wash. Oh... forget calling to try to reverse the incorrect charge. No one answers and their mail box is full. This place is disgusting and unprofessional. Last time for me. If anyone ever asks me for a decent place to wash your car... my comment will be... stay away from Lake Effect Car Wash on Owen Rd. One final note... Lake Effect Car Wash I will be disputing the $19.95 charge. read more

$18 wash, $2 tip and nobody dried my black car. So by the time I get home it'll be covered in spots.

Not sure who runs this, however it shocks me that they are still in business. They keep promising that they are making improvements fro the lousy washes and finally it looks like something is happening. I have been a monthly subscriber on and off for years and now they are closed for renovations yet they continue to charge me the monthly charge on my CC. There are a few phone numbers listed and no one ever answers and you cant leave a message. read more

As I am driving, I have to say this is the worst car wash I have ever seen you are wasting your money you don't get a receipt I was charged $19 plus for a car wash I didn't even have a blower I have never felt more ripped off in my life. I am expecting a call back from these people but you can't even leave a message but I will reach someone or I will reach the Better Business Bureau so I need the gentleman to call me back as I am sure he is reading most of these reviews my advice stay clear until they fix it or get new owners. read more

I spent 15 dollars to get my car cleaned, thinking this would clean my car. After leaving....AFTER THEY RINESED AND DRIED MY CAR. There was still water and soap all over my car. read more

The absolute worst car wash ever experienced. My vehicle came out of the wash dirtier than when it went in. Most of the equipment in the wash wasn't even working. My vehicle exited the wash completely covered with soap suds, no rinse or dry. Better off driving down a muddy road in a rain storm. $18??? This place should not be a licensed business. It's a scam. Extremely disappointed. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I had the worst car wash experience of my life today. And it was at Lake effect car wash in Fenton. The two gentlemen and I use that term loosely working were monumentally unfriendly and uncaring. Now let's get to the wash. It was absolutely terrible. It was the worst car wash I've ever gotten. My truck was less than half washed and largely due to the fact that the brushes on the driver side of the car wash did not spin. To say I'm not in a hurry to go back there would be an understatement of huge proportion read more

One of the worst car washes I've ever been through! Paid $15 for what? Still had soap in all the crevices and paid for the dryer and the dryer didn't even come on when I was exiting the car wash unbelievable this place sucks! read more

Everyday there is some issue. The wash is broken, the card reader is broken, one lane is down, no one showed up for work, one person showed up, they need to shut down the wash and reset , etc..... This was the worst car wash I have ever been to!! I paid $15 to get my car washed, the second best package supposedly. Omg never EVER AGAIN. I had pulled back through and told them my car was worse than before, possibly no soap, or something else was wrong. The guy was yelling and clapping his hands at me . I went back thru and still absolutely horrible looking. Save your money and go elsewhere!! Only thing good about that place is the free vacuums. read more

Couldn't choose a half star or no star...I would give (5) Zeros for a rating!!!This is the worst car wash I have ever been to I had to replace my windshield two weeks ago and I needed a new membership sticker, so as I pulled in I asked them if I could get a new sticker, there were no cars behind me. I was the only car wash and he told me I needed to go back around and come back in so he could look me up on the system. I then asked him if I could give him my license so that he could look me up as I was going through the car wash he said "once again you need to go around and come back in as if I was an asking him to do something inconvenient". Horrible customer service!!! I will be canceling my membership . Plus I currently pay for a car wash membership without dryers!!! And not to mention this but when they were down for renovations they didn't even offer any members discount or pause the monthly payments. They were down for like 6 months and the car wash isnt any better than it was before, same bad car wash same bad service!!! read more

If you'd like to pay $15 for a car wash that leaves both dirt and soap in your car without really drying at the end, this is the place for you. I had to spend another $5 at the manual place nearby cleaning the soap off. They keep saying new management but the subpar results are the same. And don't buy that Groupon, you'll never get them to stop charging your card for monthly membership. read more

Avoid this place. Paid close to $20 for a car wash that left my vehicle still dirty and wet and also ripped off a windshield wiper. Worst car wash. Empoyees didn't make an attempt to pre-wash my Denali and had the car wash operating at a fast pace. The blow-off is a joke. My vehicle came out almost as dirty as when it went in. So much for the deluxe wash at Lake Effect. read more

Automated gate system froze up but still charged my credit card $19.95. No receipt came out. Will resolve my issue with a complaint to VISA but sad to have to resort to this method read more

You need to make sure you read the description of your purchase and pay attention as you go through to make sure what are receiving the correct wash. Machines are broken like the buff n dry cloths at the end of the wash. The side one does not work and has not worked for months. The front one doesn't come down low enough to dry the front of car, but they are still charging full price and you are not getting what you paid for. Yes they have free vacuums but that doesn't make up for continued crappy equipment. read more

This place is absolutely terrible, dosent even deserve one star. Waited in like for 25 minutes for a wash cause once you're in line there is no place to turn around or exit. Paid for the 15 dollar was. Nothing was marked or indicating of me paying 15 so I'm sure I got the most basic wash. Then to top of everything the mirror was ripped off of the car. I wouldn't tell me Enemy to go here read more

The worst car wash I've ever received. No dryer and poor rinse. Had water and soap spots all over vehicle. Car looked worse then when I took it in! Had to go to different car wash to get it clean! Never again! read more

I paid $15 for a deluxe wash. It was supposed to come with a wax and the "dry and shine". You select your wash and pay using a machine and it doesn't give you a receipt. As I was going through the wash, I noticed the "dry and shine" pads never activated, so I know I didn't get what I paid for. I had no receipt, so I couldn't even go and complain to the people working. When I pulled over and looked at my car, it was still dirty and now had water spots on every window. I can't even tell it got washed at all!! I will never return here. read more

The guy with the beard and septum nose piercing is a jerk. He has a bad attitude. I was shifting my car into neutral and for half a second it was in reverse and he shouts "NEUTRAAALLL!!!". Poor service and the people were rude. The car wash didn't get my car fully cleaned and with no dryer, my car ended up with water marks all over it. Looked dirtier than before I went. The free vacuums are okay, but I had to sit and wait a few minutes for them to even be turned on. read more
