March 5, 2015 (yesterday) I went through this soft touch car wash with my wife's 2009 GMC Yukon. The car wash promptly grabbed the passenger windshield wiper at the base, snapped the steel, shattered my windshield and dented my hood majorly in four places. Sounded like a bomb went off in my car when it happened. Then I pulled out and went into the store. the owner Adam Teer, and his manager happened to be there. They both came out in the parking lot and looked, They helped me pick up my wiper from the parking lot where the blow dryers had blown it. Adam instantly started to deny responsibility. Said he. Couldn't be sure that it happened here. I told him I was going a block down the road to get an estimate on the damage....which I did. $1,100. I came back to the BP and he was still there. I gave him the estimate and he said nothing. I let him know that the collision manager if the GMC dealership had matched up the dents with the wiper and could clearly see what had happened and to please call them. I further told him that I would need a copy of the video camera for my attorney. He quickly told me that the cameras weren't working that day. Based on my reading of the other posts, those cameras are only for his benefit. Of course he must have already viewed it and noticed how damaging that would be to him.
Throughout the day I waited for a call from him which clearly never came. I called the dealership to see if he had called. They said that he had came down in person. They explained how they had told him everything they knew. He said that he would pay for the wiper ($60) and would pay no more. The other $1,040 was up to me. I went to the BP. He would not call or get on the phone and said that his manager would call me tomorrow when his clerk called him. Of course she did and told me he was sticking with the $60. Told me that no vehicle had ever been damaged in his wash and it wasn't their fault. Essentially called me a liar. I would agree that this guy is a classless business owner. I too have already begun the small claims suit to recoup my $1,100 plus costs, fee's etc. They refused to give me his number, his insurance, his attorney, etc. huge disaster and he is dumping it all on me. Told me to call my insurance and let them pay. Amazing. read more
