I have waited six years to write this review. My wife and I purchased an inground pool.from Kay and George. This was a replacement of our above ground FantaSea pool. We have been extremely pleased with our purchase from Lake Champlain Pools and would highly recommend them to anyone interested in a new pool. Repairman needs training. Came to repair spa, he told us it could not be fixed, too old. Spent 12 minutes. The parts department in the store told my husband how to fix and sold him the part. I first did business with Lake Champlain Pools in 2002 when I purchased a hot tub, which I still have and still works great. Of course something that old has needed some work over the years and the response time and effectiveness has been outstanding. Work has been clearly explained and they never left without it working properly. Since then I have purchase 2 wood stoves, which I love. They are great, burn super hot and get hot fast. If you own a pool or hot tub or plan on purchasing a pool or hot tub, I strongly urge you to read this long @ss post. This is not one of my "jokes". This is about a company that has the market cornered....Lake Champlain Pools. Please keep in mind when reading this that we have actually spent well over $20,000 for hot tub, pool and chemicals throughout the years. Anyway, the previous owners "sold" the business to the new owners. From what I was just told, the previous owners are still "part time" owners because the new owners have zero business/people skills and feel AND act entitled. That's todays society though....everybody is entitled. I digress.... We purchased our pool in summer 2020. LCP installed said pool. I noticed a VERY small leak coming out of one of the "jets". So small that it didn't concern me at all (just wet around fitting). I closed the pool for winter with the help of someone else working "under the table". Then reopened it in the spring 2021. Pool was leaking from same "jet" a little bit more (about one drop every 15 seconds). Still not enough of a concern to contact LCP, as it didn't affect water level. Fast forward to spring 2022. Two weeks after I opened the pool, I noticed that the same leak was really bad. I called LCP to come over to repair it. The repair day arrives and it's raining. A female with zero people skills calls to notify me that they can't make it bc of the rain (might rip liner bc it's too cold). I have zero issue with this--I get it. Then she states that they'll now come over in one week. I, now, have an issue with this. I stated that I should be scheduled for the very next day or at least the day after. Definitely not one week. She stated that it's going to rain the next few days. I come back with... "Well, this is this North Country and the weather changes all the time. Can you tentatively schedule me for tomorrow or the next day?" She replies "it's supposed to rain". This is not a lie...I'm getting a little upset at this point. I come with..."Yes, I understand it may rain, but this is the North country...the weather changes all the time." This conversation went on longer than it should. I told her I'll stop over after 2pm. I arrive at LCP and she has a f*ckn print out of the weather!!!!!! I said something to the effect...you gotta be f*ckn with me, right?!?!?!? We literally argued about the weather for a solid five minutes. That's a long time-- just ask Sarah (Ah thank you -in my best Austin Powers impression). Anyway, I was so upset that I called her "Tom Messner" and wanted to speak to an adult. Hindsight, this did not help me out AT ALL. Back to the first repair....LCP arrives and "repairs" the leak. I spoke with the two workers and both of those workers told me this should be under warranty because this was not my fault. So, I called the same female (that I called Tom Messner). She told me it wasn't under warranty because this was my fault and I had someone else working "under the table" so warranty doesn't apply. I told her that he (or myself) didn't touch the outside of the "jet". We went back and forth and we agreed that I would pay for parts only ($52). Now, it's early June 2022, the leak is back again. LCP came and "repaired" it again. Once again, two DIFFERENT workers said it was not my fault. I believe this time, LCP went good for it and said it was under warranty. Fast forward to July 27, the same leak was back AGAIN!!! My wife called and told them. They said they would be there in two days to take another look at it. Instead, I wake up to the attached email!!! They want to cut all ties with me. I've been in that store buying chemicals for the last three months!!! Now, they have to fix this leak, they want to cut ties w/me?!?!?! Granted, my "Tom Messner" and "I want to speak to an adult" comments were zero help to me, but this is not a good way to do business. I text the previous male owner with no response (yes, I knew him that well that I had his number). I replied to the previous female owner's last email with no response. In my opinion, this has everything to do with the new entitled owners.​ read more

Worst pool service in Plattsburgh (& beyond). Unfortunately there aren't many pool service companies in the area so my elderly mother was stuck calling them again to open up her pool. In fairness, they may just prey on the elderly - perhaps their service isn't horrendous to everyone. When they opened Mother's pool, instead of pumping the dirt, leaves & scummy water off the top of the winter cover, they just pulled the cover off, dumping all that filth into the pool. After seeing pictures of the mess, I called and spoke to Christine. She said that is their standard procedure for opening pools. Then she tried to talk me into paying $95/hr for a weekly cleaning service. I declined and insisted they come back and fix their mess. They did stop by several times to add chemicals but the pool is still disgusting. When I call, they've got a million excuses and lies, "your filter needs replacing, you aren't vacuuming properly, you need a new vac...". Funny but everything worked fine last year when the pool was opened properly. I find this to be one of the most unethical companies I've ever come across. read more

We had an amazing experience with LCP! We ordered our pool in February, and had some concerns when the pandemic started. We were in constant contact with them, and our pool was successfully installed in mid May. Their teams were efficient and professional, and answered our (my) questions, both for the pool and heater. They made all the arrangements for the pool to be filled too. We attended a pool maintenance class (thank you Dan) which was very low-key and informative. When we had a problem with the heater not igniting Dan told us what to do, problem solved! We would recommend them to anyone!! Thank you LCP for everything!!!! read more

I called these people to perform a service on my pool, I was promised one day, then I get a callback saying they can't so it and asking if I want to reschedule for another day for a reduced rate. I was promised a rate of 90 per hour and then they turn around and say that it's now 135 after I was already promised a lower rate. I got them to agree to the lower rate and they called me again saying now that they don't have anyone at all. They said they would do the best they can to get someone out to me but I waited all day, no phone call or anything. Would not recommend their services at all! read more

Great place to get pool and spa supplies. Did not buy spa there on account of pricing, but, we do get our supplies there.

I first had a 1 star review, but Kay ( I think the owner possibly?) Took control of the horrible situation turned it around. They came out and fixed our Propane stove right away. (They actually had to come out 2 times) They would call when the team was leaving and estimated what time they would be at our house. They have redeemed themselves for sure. We appreciate the effort that they have put into making our experience better This was my first review: Took weeks for the stove to be completely installed and it started leaking propane into our home less than 1 year later. Service cannot seem to get to us and Tom the manager does not care. He even hung up on my husband today after for the 3rd week they said they would be here and they just couldn't make it. Very disappointed. We had to pay for our own lift rental to have the stove installed. Thank you Kay for seeing the problem and making a change. read more
