I wish I could give Allen Pools negative stars. Be aware -- they are selling you an item the cost of a car and have no interest in helping make sure you are happy at the end of the transaction. You will need an electrician, and patio -- and they will not help you coordinate with those people. The sales team was lack luster and completely uninterested once they had my $20,000. They will not help you make sure that specs and directions are thought out or considered. It may be that your ridiculously expensive hot tub is facing the wall of your house, with the cover blocking the view. Also, the head of delivery interrupted me, talked over me, yelled at me, hung up on me then told someone else not to connect me with the manager. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They will take your money and will not stand by their work. read more

DON'T BUY FROM ALLEN POOLS! They do not stand behind their work. We bought a hot tub about 6 months ago. We placed it about 20 feet off the ground on a deck. One day it stopped working. Due to their poor installation workmanship, they failed to seal any openings so mice got in and ate wires. They refused to take responsibility for this and blamed the manufacturer. We googled this matter of installation and across the board every article said sealing holes is one of the most important parts of installation. Allen Pools said they NEVER seal holes. They have totally blown us off, not even returning phone calls. All we want is to have them fix the wiring (and seal holes). They have treated us poorly. Think twice about this company. read more

We bought a house in Wallingford, Vermont that came with a Hot Springs Hot Tub. Never having owned a hot tub before, we have been so grateful for how helpful Allen Pools and Spas is in answering questions on the phone, and emailing us resources as well as it is super fun to stop by. They have a cotton candy machine. Recently, our lid was leaking and I ordered a new one and found out it would be delayed for up to 26 weeks become of supply chain issues. There was some miscommunication about the spring cleaning service of our hot tub and as soon as I shared my frustration, they really worked hard to ease my frustration. Their customer service is excellent. I recommend this company to anyone looking to buy a hot tub or to folks like me who find themselves with one and have no idea how to properly maintain it. read more

I had hoped to work with Allen on a repair of my Hot Springs tub. Unfortunately, the only option offered was a cost of $695 each way to bring the tub to their facility in Rutland for inspection. The cost before anyone even looks at it including the visit would be a minimum of $1510 before anyone puts a tool on it. We are really disappointed. There are surely better options. Especially, considering all of the money spent buying all of our pool and spa supplies from their store. read more

I can't speak to the service side, but the sales experience was exceptional. Within 8 hours of a quote request to the manufacturer for my zip code, I had a personalized video sent to me by Tonya: the sales person who held many hands through the installation. Pricing was straightforward and she found me more deals on in-stock models. I am not local, so she needed to work with my local contractor to coordinate. This included personal site visits and many calls. All parties on my side were very happy with the level of attention. I couldn't be here for the actual installation, so she made an extra trip out to go through the whole system with me. Just had my first couple of soaks in a really nice tub. I was in the market for a new hot tub. Knowing Allen Pools & Tub is a big place I started there. I couldn't believe they did not have any brochures on their tubs. They did not have a price sheet on their tubs. I said I would be paying in full when shopping. It was not until I started heading for the door prices started dropping and rebates came available. Their service is expensive and no straight forward pricing. I went to many other companies and was treated with respect... given a brochure, a pricing list and a list of rebates and discounts for paying cash. In store service for water samples and the like for my pool or hot tube are usually good, but the service for pool maintenance, such as openings, closings, filter change outs...well, there is a lot of room for improvement. I called to schedule my pool closing, and after being given confirmation that I would be the first closing of the morning, didn't get a call or see anyone from Allen's for several hours! And I had an appointment! When I called the service department, after my first call to express my disdain over not getting the service time I was promised, I repeatedly did not get an answer, like they were very busy with other customers and it went to voice mail, but strangely enough, when I called from another phone number, the call was picked up immediately! Coincidence???? I'm not convinced! Anyway, the choices in my area are slim, but I feel very strongly that Allen Pools and Spas needs to up there game to feel like they are giving their customers good service for the price of doing business! read more

Allen Pools and Spas is efficient in 1 thing. They are great about charging for service calls, but not fixing anything. We bought a new hot tub from them less than 2 years ago and they have been a horror ever since. We gotten multiple defective remotes and they have never fixed it. There has been nothing but problems, terrible service and follow up. They switched out our remote this week but left with the hot tub still broken so our hot tub is not powered up for almost a week. We have called their "President", Peter, who promised to get this resolved on Monday and their follow up is non-existent yet again. It is ground hog day every time we speak with them and nothing is ever fixed, but they are good about charging for every visit. Run away! read more

It has been over a year since I wrote my one and only review on Yelp regarding Allen Pools and it is time for me to update and perhaps eat a little crow. After my initial frustrations were expressed on this website I received a personal call from the President and my issues were promptly corrected. I have since had very recent dealings with the repair team in Rutland and in my mind the service levels went above and beyond expectations. They returned my emails immediately sent out a service technician immediately, I received excellent communication and the issues were addressed in a very cost effective manner. Well Done read more

Fantastic experience. Never felt pressured to purchase something we did not need or to be upsold to a more expensive product. It was all about what we needed and we wanted. Joe was exceptional. He even had a spa we were considering brought into the showroom and set up. We were amazed by the delivery group. Efficient only begins to describe this group of men. We were in the tub that night. Lack of knowledge led to a service call within days and there was no problem... simple fix, but they insisted on coming and making sure we were satisfied. Initially we made a few calls on maintenance of the water and we are now up and going for 2 months and can't be happier. It is used everyday, including the Blizzard. I can't say enough good things about Joe, the delivery men and Allen Pools and Spas. read more

I do not like this business. They rarely call you back without 2 or 3 phone calls. They are extremely expensive relative to repairs, and, now, they will not even deal with you without forcing you to give them a credit card - even though they may not do the work weeks in the future. They are not customer friendly. They know they are pretty much the only game in town, and they take advantage of that. read more

Service department is not good at all. Most repairs cannot be done in the winter, when you want your hot the most, and they're very expensive. Six months after my warranty expired it started to leak. It took many phone calls to get someone there and all he did was winterize it and said the'll look at it again in the spring. Spring came and again many phone calls later they told me they needed a fifteen hundred dollar deposit first and repairs could be as much as forty-five hundred dollars, and my best bet would be to trade it in for another one.
