I've been going to LBSL since I was a kid! Both of my uncles were ski instructors, and my mom also learned to ski here. I enjoyed meals here after a day of water skiing when I was growing up! I hadn't been in YEARS, but we drove up from San Antonio for a family lunch this past weekend. It looks different than it did when I was last there - lots of covered seating with a great view of the water! It was a surprisingly cool September day when we ate at LBSL, but all of that covered seating must be great on a hot summer day! The food is classic (my uncle said the lodge started as just a burger stand, but their menu is quite extensive now); I definitely suggest you stick with simple classics that LBSL does well. I ordered a cheeseburger with everything (lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard, mayo, pickles). The burger was classic, delicious. The fries weren't great (not crispy), but overall the cheeseburger with fries is a good meal! (My other family members ordered burgers, turkey burgers, seafood platters, or salads; they also offered a few brunch specials since we were there on a Sunday morning, but I thought it was best to stick with the simple classics here!) We also got a few Bloody Marys and mimosas since it was brunch time. The wait staff are mostly young high school and college age kids, and they were friendly and helpful if a bit overwhelmed occasionally! Is it a gourmet burger? No. But can you enjoy a great meal here of simple food, good service, and a view of and breeze from Lake McQueeney? YES. For me, time spent here is special, because it reminds me of so many good times spent with my family on the lake. But whether you spent time here as a kid or not, you can enjoy a meal at this family-run and -operated (after several decades, it's still owned by the same family!) ski lodge! read more

LBSL is a McQueeney institution. Our grandparents were good friends, when it began as a hamburger stand. They have improved their menu and their ambience is second to none. The family who owns the Lodge are dear. It's worth whatever time and money it you spend. Come with a relaxed attitude so you will fit in with the locals. Please! read more

Growing up this was home to me, the pool the lake.. just relaxing on the long chair... it was so great growing up having grandparents with a membership here. Great food and friendly service! my grandparents passed and now I can't go back unless I know someone else who has membership. I don't know anyone there but I really wanted to get a membership because we have so many memories here and I want my kids to have that as well. Hoping they change that so that my family can be apart of the Ski Lodge one day. read more

This place in general is actually 5 stars. They have great food and an excellent atmosphere! The only thing ruining that is a employee named Gilbert. He is rude and unprofessional and I often hear him cussing at other coworkers. He ruins the opening and profesional way of being that the Ski Lodge has always had. If you don't get the Lodge then you really are missing something. The Lodge is a throwback to the good times on the lake. Yes, the rooms have been updated and they are still not 4-star rooms. The a/c is mounted on the wall, the TV is maybe 20 inches and it sits on a stainless table. But, heck, you should not even be in the rooms except to sleep. That's not why you go there. It's the flat water, boating, skiing, tubing and drifting... oh and drinking and eating at the lodge. It's a private lodge so if you can't get it, that's understandable. It's not for everyone but those that go there get it. You drive your boat up to the lodge get out and walk 10 feet sit down, get a drink, eat and let the world go by. As Tennessee Earnie said, no phone, no pets, and no cigarettes. Did your cell phone not work Charlie? And Charlie H, the ice machine is in the lodge all you have to do is ask for ice. My family and I have been spending the week of July 4th at the LBSL for 31 consecutive years. This is a family first water ski Lodge. The Mueller family has owned it since day #1. Youngest son Kip now runs the place since his legendary Dad Buzz passed away last year. The food is great; and the ambience is unique. I love the negative reviews on this page... just leaves more "LODGEARITAS" for us. Wally's from Houston stay away...you folks just mess up the glassy water for the rest of us as you pull your kids around in a tube behind a "Barbie & Ken" inboard outboard you bought at Bass Pro Shop !!! First thing to realize is, this place is for water ski activities first, and thus the facility is built around water activities. So, if you are boating on Lake McQueeney, drive on over to Lake Breeze Ski Lodge, park your boat, walk 30 feet and grab a seat for a bite to eat. The food is outstanding, which seems untypical because it seems 60ish all over. In fact, the rooms are as basic as a room can be. They've been updated some over the years, but not quite to a Motel 6 standard. Not to worry, it fits the setting of tranquility. It's a getaway from the real world. Our group tried a Lakeway resort one year, but came back here. We're going on 40 years (minus 1) of annual visits in which around 8 families each pay thousands of dollars to cover rooms, food and the bar tab. Oh, nice lounge, too. They make great drinks, including the ice cream drinks like a Grasshopper and Brandy Alexander. During the day, take a swim in their full sized pool overlooking the restaurant and lake. No life guards, so vigilance is mandatory. Lake Breeze is a really cool place to meet friends from opposite ends of the State. I can't imagine a better setting for groups. B read more

Way over priced , paid 135.00 for one night. The room has not been touched since the 60s. No phone , micro , fridge , shampoo , ice machine , old metal keys ,etc . Very nice staff , you can only book a room on line ? No phone calls . Crazy ! read more

BIG PROBLEMS HAVE SURFACED FOR LAKE BREEZE SKI RESORTS Misrepresentation and deception and discrimination. Owner demands $4000 membership from disabled guest for the room he reserved and they showed him then after learning ada disabled need not met. Owner Says in a response that  LakeBreeze is 100% PRIVATE BUT took $140 for their HOTEL, (10X10 ROOM  analog tv antenna) then OWNER GETS EXTREMELLY RIDICULOUS BY  THE COMMENTS TO A DISABLED GUEST AND HIS DAUGHTER who were visiting.from out of town, and given a room. they asked to see room found each Were not ADA accessible  or complaint. (Americans with Disabilities Act) the disabled guest had to turn down and owner lost his mind. This is a witnessed account of a very multinfaceted series of unfortunate events the lake breeze ski lodge management  failed to recognize or even care about...the owner further said  said it's requiring a private membership to stay now after room turned down.:- you must pay $4000 to join and you can't stay here were :fully booked. Plus 3 members must vote you in that takes time..lots of.time Guest had a reserved room set up and  was reeerved then shown by lake breeze to these guests. Here's owner managers response. Sorry, we are a private club and hotel is full tonight. Thank you. You can't join and you can't stay here.."the guest said how did I know about this place call about rooms send a ridiculous email per front desk to you sir the owner manager ...I had  asked to stay, and clerk said yep he got email  and it's here for you I got.the key....guest was told huge disconnects like the owners claim for his HOTEL ROOMS. ...this seems to be a pattern and huge concern as the lake is public the ski bee event is public and without doubt the majority OF  guests.Attending are public Discrimination towards a disabled man on vacation with daughter and the language spoken by owner in front of child appalling...me and my family watched in disgust and have decided to find and help uncover the truth about The shady dealings of Lake Breeze operations and decisions, like taking $4000 on events or forcijg visitors and others into this scheme, raising rates and this comittee that votes in applicants...  All websites and most comments online don't reference the membership but a few after coming in since 2002 would one. I have not had an experence with the hotel rooms but if you live in the area or have a lake house in the area, a membership is great! It is like a country club but with great food and you dont have to be dressed nice at all! It is very kid friendly and my kids love the pool. If you have a house on Lake Mqueeney, a membership here is great. Its an easy place to get dinner, complementry boat ramp, acces to gas pumps to easily fill your boat up, and you do not have to wait for the bill. From what I have heard, the bar is good (I dont really go there). I dont really see this place as a hotel, though I know it has rooms which are very booked up during the holidays. Agree very basic lodging and not inexpensive, but this experience is about being on the lake and water skiing. I am from London and we stay here every year. Not a hint of luxury, it's about bare feet, being outdoors, lovely people and a wonderful disconnect from the race of city life. read more

I don't know who these people are but my kids and I have such fond memories of Lake Breeze that we want to bring the whole family there this summer. It is not meant to be a luxury facility, yet in many ways it is. They have the best and safest water ski lessons in the world. The food is awesome, the pool must be spring-fed because it is cold. People relax there and get to know each other. I don't know if Buzz and Beverly are still there but they were fabulous. It does feel 60ish but who cares. It is clean, nice and safe. People used to leave their ski equipment laying out at night. For people who are trying to unwind, don't leave too quickly. Your blood pressure will drop by the end of your visit. The service is absolutely awful. The food is over priced and bland. For example one margarita is about 18.00. So if you wanna waste money and time this place would be perfect. read more
