I have been boarding at La Jolla Equestrian Center since 2024, and I truly couldn't ask for a better home for my two horses. They absolutely love it there, and so do I. The barn has such a welcoming and supportive community, which makes being there every day a joy.
One of the things I appreciate most is the size of the stall and paddock setups. My horses have huge spaces with plenty of room to roll, sunbathe, and play. The stalls are always kept very clean, and the feeding schedule is excellent. Horses are fed four times a day, which gives me incredible peace of mind knowing they are closely monitored. It also means that if something seems off--like a potential colic--it's likely to be noticed quickly.
The ownership is truly outstanding. Lourdes works side-by-side with her staff and is incredibly hands-on. She knows every horse at the barn and treats them as if they were her own. One experience in particular meant the world to me: during one of the feedings, Lourdes noticed that my mare wasn't acting like herself. She immediately stepped in and got her the help she needed--she was colicing, and Lourdes' quick action made all the difference.
Lourdes and her team--many of whom have been with her for years--are constantly upgrading and improving the property. Their dedication, experience, and genuine care for the horses really set this place apart.
Lastly, they also have amazing trainers. I personally work with Tracey Hill and Alex Wehrman, who are both fantastic. Their knowledge, support, and dedication to horse and rider development make training at the barn an incredible experience.
