Been to five places so far before we found Papas. We are still looking but so far this is the best. First of all, the food was fresh, hot and delicious. (Others we've tried were either no seasoning, too salty, just no) Second, surprised to see many of these are walk up and order (have no problem with that) but was shocked to see how the prices were those of a sit down restaurant and as stated before, not worth the price. Papas is a sit down place with a friendly atmosphere and the prices are very reasonable. Third, the service at other places made me feel like either the staff didn't want to be there or having to ask for stuff was an inconvenience. Papas staff was very attentive. Didnt catch the name of our young lady server but she made us feel welcome and she was happy to have us there. Very friendly. It really was surprising to have these three things happen at the same time. They even asked us what they could do to improv. My suggestion would be to have some sort of pico type salsa with chips for complementary and maybe expand menu to include taco and enchilada dish option. (Their complementary bean dip was very good). They are fairly new to the area so maybe sometime in future? To summarize, we will definitely be going back and are excited to have found a place so good so close to home.

It is a very small restaurant. How small? Well, my car would not fit in the dining area. How small? There is a refrigerator by the bathroom. The refrigerator door and the bathroom door cannot be open at the same time. There are 5 table/booths. There is no English spoken here. Drinks are limited to Mexican Cokes, those other colorful sugary drinks in a bottle, and bottled water. Thankfully, I know how to say in weird sounding Spanish, "dos aquas." No chips and salsa on the menu. A torta for my wife and a burrito for me. Both packed with fresh grilled chopped carne asada. The guy working the cash register delivered both meals to the table, then returned with the plastic squirt bottles of very good salsa. My burrito had some seasoned rice, much more meat than rice, though. Also, a little chopped onion and cilantro with the beef. I added a good dose of hot red salsa and WOW. Very Southern and quaint. A Victorian type building with lots of character. You can eat inside at the bar or in one of the small dining rooms. Or sit outside in the lovely outdoor garden area. The staff was friendly and attentive. Now the food...everything from the soup to the chicken tenders were handmade. That tomato was to die for! So rich and creamy! Beautifully seasoned and rich in flavors! The chicken tenders were like small chicken cutlets hand breaded and fried to a golden perfection. It even comes with homemade honey mustard which is amazing on its own! We also tried the blackberry bacon and jalapeño sandwich...what? Wow! I cant even describe just how amazing, yet simple this sandwich was! Lastly we got the Park House club. Grilled and loaded with meats and cheeses! So scrumptious! She was seated at the bar and the dog was given the seat next to her. Folks greeted her and the dog and she fed the dog from her order. Again I am familiar with service dogs and although well behaved wasn't a service dog. This part of the experience is why I gave 3 stars. We will eat there again, but I hope they don't allow dogs inside, especially with a patio available.
