What a disfunctional practice from Lahar down to the receptionist. When I finally talked with Lahar about staff issues I was having, he canceled my scheduled procedure and told me to go elsewhere. Lahar blamed the staff issues on COVID-19 and the limited staff and in hiring competent staff. In his case, he must have hired the bottom of the barrel. During only four days of interacting with them, I was left phone messages and asked to return their calls and when I called back, no one in the office said they called me. Twice when, I called back, they hung up on me after I was placed on hold and other times I was placed on hold and no one ever returned. I was asked to follow up by Lahar's staff with another doctor I deal with to have him submit requested information back to Lahar. I did and the information was sent to Lahar within two days. My doctor called me and informed me the date the information was sent to Lahar. When I called Lahar's Office, I was told the Information was never received and to follow up with my doctor. When I did, I was informed the data was sent to Lahar the date he initially informed me it was. When I called Lahar's Office to follow up, I was told by a different staff member that it was received earlier; however, Lahar was in surgey, that someone would get back to me the next morning to firm up the surgery date. When I called back the next day after hearing nothing back from Lahar's Office in the morning, I was told by another staff member that they had just received the information from my doctor this morning. I informed them that wasn't correct, that the data was received two days ago. Another employee got on the line and firmed up the date of my surgery and that I had to go off my blood thinners three days before the date of the procedure and then he gave me dates to not take the blood thinners which added up to four days. When I questioned him that the days totalled four versus three, it took him forever to respond back that what he told me was incorrect. I'm guessing he had to locate an adding machine to total the three days correctly. During the same phone call, he told me about a powder drug that had to be applied after my one tooth was extracted. The cost for this drug was more than the entire tooth extraction and my insurance didn't cover the drug cost. When I questioned him on the need for the drug, I was told that Lahar had passed that to him and that's all he knew - no alternatives to use other drugs or generic drugs. When I called my insurance company, I was informed of multiple lower cost drugs that my insurance company would pay for. It was funny that Lahar didn't mention the need for the drug during our in person consultation three days prior nor did anyone in his office identify an alternative lower cost drug that was covered by my insurance company. When I finally did talk to Lahar to discuss the concerns I was having, he didn't want to hear any of it. He provided me with another date the data was received from my doctor (In total, I received four different dates from Lahar and three of his staff and none of the four dates were the same). His only response to my valid concerns and questions was I'm not doing your surgery and to go elsewhere. This only confirms that Lahar is the root of the problem within his own practice! If Lahar can't admit or listen to problems within his own practice, the problems will never be corrected. If you can't raise valid concerns or ask questions about your planned procedure or surgery that Lahar doesn't like or wants to listen to, my recommendation wold be to stay clear of Lahar and his blind leading the blind staff! read more
