We were there just a week ago in Dec 10, 2020 and ....eh. Have known and visited this place for at least 20 years so Im not a newbie. I understand they have been struggling for a while, and covid hasn't helped, but there really was'nt much to see or do. While they have cleaned the area up, improved and spiffed up some buildings, got rid of the duck pond {which was charming only when they maintained it...recently those poor ducks were swimming in green slime}. Most stores were closed or empty, the one big antique place looks like someone slaughtered a thousand grandmas and cleaned out their attics.{Not Victorian grandmas, mind you, but 1960s grandmas.} Prices sky high, too.
There are a few shops and interesting places in the vicinity which would make this place OK to stop by if you are in the area, Im sure once covid is over they could improve. There's a nice restaurant there and down the street a charming antique barn and more shops. read more
