During peak rush hour times and if there is construction, they are sometimes late/early to the point it seems like they just aren't coming (I've had to wait over 20 minutes a few times), but the City Bus app has real time maps that allow you to look where the bus is at before you leave. The buses are clean and safe- out of town visitors should definitely consider these as a mode of transportation. I come from a place where riding the city bus is dangerous, so this is a welcome difference. The city bus center is a nice building, and a good place to wait to be out of the cold.

If I were from Lafayette, IN, Me and Myself would be looking at me, right now, wondering, "Are you…read moreREALLY writing a review about a bus center"? "Hell yeah!" I would reply. "I just got off the Greyhound; it's cold out; I'm dog tired, and I sure don't feel like finding a fire hydrant to do what dogs need to do after sitting on the bus for two hours. Not only that, but this place has working outlets to charge my phone--something the bus company promised to have at each seat, but for which they didn't deliver." "Is that all?" they'd ask. "No! Listen here, Me and Myself," I'd say. "They have a flyer for each Lafayette city bus here too, and a display to show when each bus is going to come. YOU try to find that back home in Chicago." "You mean we're going to take the city bus too, after hoofing on the 'hound all the way here?" Me, Myself and I were lucky that day. I had arranged a ride that arrived shortly thereafter. But having Citybus Center was a breath of warm air as we waited, and on a weekend--a Saturday--no less.

Unlike some of the others who had reservation problems, we had no problems. The host innkeeper was present when we arrived, quickly showed us to our room and oriented us to her home. She was quite hospitable. She room was air conditioned, but it was not turned on. I am sure she would have turned it on if I had asked, but it was a cool night with a gentle breeze, and it reminded me of being a little boy again listening to the train whistles and courthouse bell. This is a tiny town, and yet it is the county seat for this county. There were times during the night when there was no outside sound at all except the tree frogs and crickets Breakfast was omelets made to order, fresh bread and jams along with juice and coffee. Shared bathroom might have been a problem if the inn was full, but with just the two of us, no problem.

We started to feel nervous about it and finally we called booking.com who we had booked through, they tried to reach the innkeeper and got no answer but said they would charge us if we didn't go ahead and go through so we arrived and NO ONE would answer the door. It was so late we had no choice but to turn around the way we came and go thirty miles the other way to stay in a rat trap that was awful ! I will never use booking.com again and I would not recommend going to this B and B at all! Horrible experience !

I was very happy with TownePlace Suites, so I was curious about how this Home2 Suites. It's very new, so everything was still sparkling. One interesting thing is that while there's a kitchenette with all the equipments, there's no cook top. I could see the spot they had saved for cook top even with a built-in microwave range hood, but we couldn't cook. We could only use the microwave. So if you want to stay here like renting a monthly apartment or weekly apartment, you probably should go to TownePlace Suites. The breakfast was okay, quite standard. The staff was very friendly and kind. I have Hilton Gold membership, so I could choose MyWay benefits. I chose one bottle of water and one snack item for Home2 Suites; however, when I checked in, the front desk forgot to give me. I later went back to ask for the water and snack, but they only could give me a bottle of water as snack ran out. Not a big deal, but I was a bit disappointed. I was there 3 days 2 nights, so they could have given me the next day if they had it, but I didn't hear from them. I didn't bother to ask anyways. Overall a good hotel, and the location is convenient for the easy access to Purdue campus. I probably would come back again.
