I usually alter my deliveries so they don't get delivered on weekends. Today I got a notice (not uncommon) that my package was undeliverable due to the fact that there was "no access to the front door". DUH. I live in an apartment building close to downtown that has a key pad to DIAL THE APARTMENT NUMBER and rings you on your cell phone. YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO BE HOME. He did not Dial my apartment number. If he had, he would have found me at home.

After 30 years, my driveway is now considered a blind driveway despite no changes whatsoever, so…read morenow I have to pick up all my packages at the post office. And often, the workers are rude and unfriendly. I never had this problem when I lived in LaCrosse, despite the post office being much busier. The hours are awful, impossible to pick up any packages if you have a day job. I look for places that do not use USPS to deliver when ordering online. Sometimes it is unavoidable, but Fedex and UPS do not have problems with my driveway.

Now, as her punishment for her running over the bike, I have to go pick up any packages that won't fit in my mailbox. I cannot stand this place.

Sometimes I put in a request for a parcel pickup. I put the parcels by the front door, exposing…read morethem to risk of theft, but often enough, my carrier doesn't bother picking them up. So, by 4 pm, I finally start calling the post office. Although they are open until 4:30, the call doesn't get answered. No one picks up. Verizon finally disconnects the call. I redial, sit on the phone again for several minutes and still no one answers. I am an eBay seller and eBay evaluates me on my shipping time based on the tracking number. I lose financial incentives when I seemingly mail parcels two days late instead of within a 24 hr. period. So a carrier not doing his/her job actually costs me money. If they don't scan the parcel into they system when they pick it up, or if they don't bother picking up at all that day, and I can't reach them to alert them, eBay assumes I didn't ship it within the agreed upon time. That's a strike against me. The staff at the counter are all very helpful whenever I go in there, but some of the carriers are either poorly trained, not focused on the job at hand, or just don't care. Perhaps they are holiday or vacation substitutes. Perhaps they are understaffed and overworked. I only know that pick-up service can sometimes be a frustrating, maddening mess.

Passport issue : The postal worker helping me with my…read morepassport seemed friendly enough but she did not know what she was doing . She handed me back my birth certificate and never sent this with the passport . She kept asking me if this was my first passport she asked this question excessively approx 10 times . She said there was a problem with my marriage license not having my married name on it . Marriage licenses DO NOT have your married name because name changes are done AFTER you are married ( through social security card reissue which I had and she never asked to see). If passports are going to be required to vote in the future this is a very ineffective way to get one issued. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION for Passports !
