Summer wear

At first, I thought it was a mirage....then I realized it was the infamous Ladybug. The staff were angels. They had beautiful summer ware and shoes to try on. Bags and purses of all sizes and colors were displayed. Summertime .......when the livin' is easy. ~ from the opera Porgy and Bess by George Gershwin. Even Norma Jean was smiling down. But if you lose power next winter, consider the warmth of a mink coat in front of the fire. Enjoy the Ladybug.......you won't regret it. Best wishes, the watch man.

I feel like if there was a specific item you are looking for, you will find it here. I was going down memory lane. The barn house a lot of huge items. The barn in the back is jaw dropping. So much to look at. They had the house, the barn and a small shed filled with many items. Everything was neatly organized. It maybe overwhelming but, because it is organized it makes it easier.

You can't miss the humongous yellow chair and the quirky metal rooster on the front lawn! There are at least 4 buildings: the main building, the "she shed", another small building, and the big barn down the trail! The barn is full of bigger furniture and architectural items as well as traffic lights and metal sculptures and salvage stuff & fixtures. The smaller buildings have garden items (I found a big terra cotta planter that I purchased) and statues. One outbuilding housed some lovely art deco pieces, vintage hats and purses, wing chairs, perfume bottles, and even an antique typewriter. The cute little she shed had kitchenware, vintage aprons, old utensils, some wooden chairs, a tiny table and a few other cool pieces (I bought a cute white deco bookcase from this area). The main building is full of antique furniture, dining sets, china and crystal, tea things, pictures, lamps, mirrors, rugs, jewelry, and even some homemade crafts. I was in "junking" heaven. The owner was super nice and gave me a deal on my finds. With Yelp I also got 10% off my purchase. Even the pristine restroom was decorated with things for sale, linens, signage, washboards, etc! If you're feeling lucky, don't pass up this awesome shopper's paradise!

Poor Service!! Double Take has been my go-to consignment…read morestore for over a decade, and I have spent more than $50,000 at their Norfolk and Virginia Beach locations. Despite the risks associated with buying second-hand clothes, I have supported consignment owners in the DC, MD, and VA area for almost 40 years. Recently, I purchased a pair of leopard boots from Double Take, only to have the soles come off on both boots while I was wearing them the next day. I informed the sales assistant, Ryan, about the incident, not asking for a refund but only to ensure that the store would be aware of the situation and take precautions to prevent future customers from having a similar experience. The store owner, Jo, offered to split the repair cost when the sales assistant informed her of the incident. I was grateful for this kind gesture and submitted the receipt to the store. However, over the next few months, I repeatedly followed up with Ryan, who promised to contact the owner, but never received any response. When I finally spoke with Jo, she denied ever offering to split the repair cost and became dismissive, even though I had no intention of asking for any compensation. I was disappointed and offended by her disrespectful behavior, which caused me to lose faith in Double Take after many years of loyalty. As a result, I have decided to take my business to a different consignment store, Worth the Wait in Virginia Beach where customers are treated with respect and the owner demonstrates excellent customer service.
