BUT, I do have to say one thing....unfortunately, you cannot take home the shop's lovely and amazing "employee," Carol. She is Marvin's mother, and she is an angel on earth. Really, she is. I visit this store about once every 4 months and she always remembers me; now, we just walk around and chat about all the amazing history and curiosities. I should also say that this place's prices are reasonable. There is another retro furniture store in Orlando, and EoR's prices are nowhere near theirs. They also have vintage clothing, custom hats, and lots of art and decor. Ok, I'll stop. I could go on forever. There was a Llama Poncho that was handmade in the '40s on the same rack as other items ranging from the 20s to the 80s, so cool to see history through clothing! It's a small shop, so it only needs one worker at a time. She did a good job engaging with everyone and answering any questions. The items are vintage and many are one of a kind, so expect boutique prices!

I have wanted to stop at Funks every time I drive by and there is quite the buzz about this place. If I were to categorize this store I would have 3 categories - clothing, used games and vintage kitsch. When you walk in they have a very inviting couch and seating area. Near the front are racks and displays of featured items and a display case/checkout area. The store features a lot of vintage t-shirts, sports jerseys and funky hipster clothing. There is a tag color chart which indicates the price of the item. Management knows their merchandise value and items in the front room of the store have been priced at the going used retail prices. The back room has the bulk clothing bins, used gaming items and vintage electronics and some collectibles. I dug through the bins and found some nice items but only one that I liked in my size. I was afraid there was a minimum of a pound charge but instead my item was placed on a scale and I paid the weight divided by $7 a pound. I found a short sleeve top I liked and paid $2.75. So the bulk bins are a bargain if you can find something you like. The service was friendly and efficient. They accept cards and digital payments. I particularly was drawn to the vinyl albums and they looked like quality in their plastic sleeves to protect the covers. I did not check the condition of the vinyl but if you are looking to add to your collection this might be an option.

Inside, you'll find the boutique up front with a private event space toward the back, and outside there's plenty of comfy seating that's great for hanging out or hosting an outdoor event. The store has something stylish for everyone...women's, men's, and even baby clothes (the children's section is in the cutest van out back!). The walls are decorated with locally sourced, one-of-a-kind art pieces, and they also sell beautiful homeware. It's one of my favorite places for gifts. Whether it's a gorgeous candle or a custom charm necklace made from their charm bar for permanent jewelry. And the events here? SO much fun! They host the most unique and artsy workshops including floral arranging, vintage candle making, diy perfume and more. I went to a vintage candle class by Nadine with some friends, and we had the best time. They also offer other fun classes like yoga and boxing. You can find all the upcoming events and workshops on their website, and they even rent out the space for private events. It's truly impossible to visit House on Lang and not feel right at home. You'll leave with things you never knew you needed! Christie, the owner, is so friendly and helpful. Definitely ask for her opinion or advice, she has amazing taste. All items are beautifully displayed with prices from low to high. I bought a nice metal statue that really looked like it would be $50, for $18. I imagine it to be a playground for a set producer for movies/tv shows from back in the day. Like the goodies you see on The Goldbergs. Remember, some of these items are super rare so the prices may be high, depending on the rarity. 4 Stars for a great cause to support with your donations and some great finds!…read more When I was looking for an ethical organization where I could donate items I don't use anymore, I was so thrilled to find Out of the Closet. According to their website, Out of the Closet Thrift Store (OTC) was founded in 1990 to help raise funds and awareness for AIDS Healthcare Foundation. When you shop or donate at Out of the Closet, 96 cents of every dollar made goes to AIDS Healthcare Foundation's HIV prevention and treatment services. Dropping donations off is very easy- you pull up just past the front retail door to another closed exterior door which has a sign to ring a bell for assistance. From there someone comes out to receive the donations. As a thrift shop, I've been able to find a great furniture piece as well as a few tops. They have lots of clothes and some home goods, depending on the week. With that said, it's not the best thrift store in terms of inventory and pricing, but you know you're supporting a good cause and there are some hidden gems. I'll keep donating here and perusing for some fun thrift finds!

If you have a purse or bag, you'll have to store it in a free locker by the front door while you shop and carry the key (it's on a stretchy wristband so you don't lose it). I would recommend leaving your bag at home just in case the lockers are all full! You'll find Disney collectibles, movie memorabilia, glass and metal sculptures, ceramic trinkets, clothes, accessories, jewelry, toys, art, and pretty much any other vintage item you could think of. I wouldn't say it's a particularly cheap antique shop, but the stalls are each carefully and thoughtfully curated, most of them having a specific theme. It feels a little like an upscale, indoor flea market!
