We knew the interlocking planks that are so popular now would never work over all the bumps. Really happy to find these luxury vinyl glue-down planks at Jungle Jim's. They are super tough and really comfortable underfoot. Plus really great looking. We have a large dog with sharp toenails - and I have not seen any marks from his nails. Installation was fast. We were moving furniture back in the same day. There were a couple of things that needed fixing. One was a plank that wasn't staying down correctly (I think it was just a little too tight) and one was a pattern issue (I didn't like a repeated pattern at my front door). They sent back one crew member who fixed it all. They are able to take up single planks, which makes it easy to make changes. If something does ever damage the floor, it is good to know that they can easily replace the planks. We love it so much that we are having them do our kitchen, too.

They provided measurements for us to order the base trim and door trim materials, which they installed. Installation went by quickly. When I reviewed their work I found two planks that had imperfections (we assume they were just production issues from the manufacturer.) There were also some loose stair noses (from being walked on before the glue cured). They came back really quickly to replace those two planks and fix the stair noses to make sure we were 100% satisfied. I will be using them again for any future needs!

She wasn't afraid to tell us what she thought wouldn't work and why she also did a fantastic job telling us what colors and styles should go together and why. She helped us make our focal points pop. She also went above and beyond by finding out what color our walls would be to make sure that everything matched and went together. Turns out the color we had on our walls would've made this look very strange. So it was awesome of her to go the extra step and say hey this is something you should change. she was able to provide samples of most of the things we had got so we could see how it would look all together. trust me when I say I hate shopping. And this has been a lot of decision making for our new home. The fact that we were here for multiple hours and I didn't feel like we were shopping just shows how great she is keeping the conversation good and distracting while still pulling out the information needed to make our home perfect. she even informed us about the next steps and told us some tips on selecting lights that would go well with what we had just picked out. She was unlike anyone else. The fact that she gave us ideas for lights that would work well in our home and reminded us of things to do and not do we are truly grateful for. she wanted to design our home with us in mind not just sell us product. She was able to work within our budget and help us save money where we could and spend money where we needed to. She told us the difference between products the times that they would last and when we would possibly have to replace. I truly hope I don't have to fix replace or change anything anytime soon. But I know if we do I know exactly who were going to see. Thank you again so much once our home is complete we can't wait to invite you over so you can help see what you created.

They let you check out samples which is great at no charge. I don't like their Credit Card processing system. They use their phones. For a retail operation that's tacky! Get a terminal! After building two structures here in anchorage, and on my second in Seldovia, I am pissed. I just returned an unused garden item at lowes, no receipt, past 90 days, the store manager allowed it. I just tried to return a small box of emt fittings at browns. The socially detached, un empathetic jack-a$$ millenial immediately sighed a long sigh, and threw out half of my receipts because they were past the 60 days allowed, citing policy. The rest of the items, i purchased less than a week ago. Strange, the Sales clerk to my right kept looking over uncomfortably, as HE KNEW, THAT I KNEW THAT HE KNEW, that i had just purchased them. Way to go! Thank god, where i work, i am allowed to deviate from company policy to take care of my customers, who ultimately pay my income. F()ck this guy, and screw you BROWNS for not giving your employees the power to take care of a customer. You'll find me at LOWES.

All their people know their stuff. I bought these cool Alexa/Google voice activated light switches for every room and bathrooms. They can control up to 29 lights on one switch so like our bedroom lights that have like 11 on one switch is no problem. Lutron Caseta Wireless Smart Dimmers. 'Alexa, turn down the bedroom lights to 15%". Yeah, a little pricy but worth it! The house we're building is 100% all LED. We figured out the lighting we needed from our architect then we sourced about 75% of our lighting needs here. They don't carry everything but they carry a lot and some things have to be ordered. This time I needed 100 Watt LEDs equivalent to standard size bulb (they call that a A19 bulb type). Usually for a standard LED bulb I go to Lowes or Home Depot. But the higher Watt Bulbs 75 and 100 Watt Equivalents there are a oversized LED bulb. Trying to put them in our new Island Pendants - uh too big -- I need the Lumens to be at a minimum 810 -- Architect thing -- Lowes and Home Depot Oversized Only ... ARRRGH! Called Browns and got the answer I needed and at the equivalent prices that would have been at Lowes or Home Depot ... the advantage at Brown's -- Selection and ability to order to your specific needs. Overall, hands down AMAZING experience!…read more We had just an estimate done on a house my husband and I were interested in buying and holy red flags! Sam was able to explain everything he was seeing in not only a professional manner, but also layman's terms for us to understand. He not only pointed out all the issues to us and how they were occurring, BUT he also took the time to fully explain what exactly was going on, how to properly fix the issue, and what to look out for in future potential houses. He checked in multiple times throughout our 2 hour estimate to ensure we fully understood what he was explaining and allowed us to ask any questions we had without judgement or belittlement. The house we were interested in buying had major moisture issues in the crawl space discovered on home inspection. We had the sellers "fix" the problem hoping they would properly fix it in good faith. When we reinspected, we noticed that the issue was still occurring and that's when I decided it was time to pull our own specialist in because things just weren't adding up. We called him numerous times after the fact with further questions and he answered every time with exquisite professionalism and without hesitation. He went above and beyond and checked in with us a few times via phone call after our meeting with him to further ensure our understanding and instructed us to call him anytime if we had further questions. He is an incredibly valuable resource on what would have been a VERY bad real-estate investment. If you are buying a house and have questions, or if things just aren't adding up DO NOT hesitate to have a professional come in on your behalf. Hands down it will pay itself off in either peace of mind or avoidance of a major financial catastrophe. At the time of our estimate, it was only $100 for him to come out and take a look (AND if you go with him for your contracting needs, that $100 rolls right into the repairs). I personally feel like we made out like bandits for his his time and expertise as I would have happily paid more after the fact. We will pay him $100 ANY time to come take a peak and will HAPPILY use him for ALL our future needs. TAKE MY MONEY! Otherwise we would have been $117k++ in the hole had we gone through with the real-estate deal. If you are looking for, or in need of an actual decent, creditable contractor WITH OUT the BS Sam is your guy! We will certainly call him every time with questions on our next future investment OR with ANY remodels we may have with our future dream home.
